Because I’m an Apple heathen, I use Safari for both my Mac and iPhone. Best browser in my opinion.

Yeah dahmage has it. I actually got into computers back when the whole point of computers was to avoid dealing with people. That was the draw. Now we’ve got all this awesome tech and people just waste it on communication.

And yet you visit OT.com to communicate with people.

Smartphones aren’t phones first with added internet. They’re small tablet computers with phone apps. The amount of social interaction you achieve with it is wholly dependent on your use case.

I, conversely, have a Moto Z Play phablet with a 5.5" screen. I don’t use it to communicate so much as for for shopping online or accessing my media server.

You probably should read my post again.

JEDIT: Not to mention by that chart, almost no one uses Safari either.

CatBus:

Computers didn’t really become useful for ‘normal’ people until the internet became widespread. The whole point of the internet is to communicate with people. The idea that we are wasting computers on communication sounds like complaining from socially anxious needs.

More people are switching from Safari to Opera.

You’re implying stuff in the data that isn’t there.

I tried Opera recently. I don’t like how Opera for Android can’t globally have its password manager disabled; and Opera for Windows doesn’t have the option to automatically open documents that are linked to instead of merely saving them to disk. Also, Opera for Android has extra integrated social and news tabs that I don’t feel the need to use.

Outside of those things, Opera also doesn’t do anything additionally for me that Firefox doesn’t already do.

There was a time (long gone) where Opera used its own renderer, and it supported some unique features none of the other browsers did (CSS paged media comes to mind). Now AFAIK it’s just the Chrome renderer.

Shit, you guys are like speaking in another language or something. All I know is I tried some other mobile browsers a few years ago and they either wouldn’t zoom in/out or sucked at it. Opera was by far the best at doing that so I stopped using other browsers. Things have probably changed in the past few years…maybe? But I’ve no reason to stop using Opera 'cause it still works great as a mobile browser accessing desktop-optimized sites.

I just use the standard mobile browser but on desktop I’ve taken to torch lately. It’s basically just a chrome that’s been modified to enhance speed and it has extra features, not least of which is a built in zero-learning-curve torrent client. It basically just downloads them like a regular download with all the seeders and trackers and such being done behind the scenes.

I used to be a fan of Firefox, but it’s buggy as hell now. Firefox and Adobe Flash have really gone down hill.

After I got into computers and realized I didn’t have to use IE anymore I switched to Firefox and used that for years until Chrome came out and I switched to that, and then Google (unsurprisingly) revealed itself to be an evil corporation so I went back to Firefox.

I dabbled in Opera and other modern browsers, but they were all shitty.

I’ve gotten into using Comodo IceDragon recently because it’s Firefox but even more locked down. I’m also big on Ghostery and NoScript and DuckDuckGo and all that.

I miss Netscape Navagator.

I dunno what issues Alderaan is having with Firefox because it runs like a dream for me.
