I recently updated my personal Star Wars Canon. After thinking about it, I decided to abandon my Legends purism and to create a personal continuity that combines the best elements from both the EU and Disney’s universe. I’ve also decided to get rid of the stories I never truly cared about in the first place.
In the previous post I published in this thread, I said that I didn’t like the idea of having multiple timelines and that I preferred a single, cohesive timeline. However, I just can’t bring myself to choose between the Clone Wars Multimedia Project and The Clone Wars, as I love both. Because of that, I’ve decided to go back to having at least two separate timelines: one that’s more CWMMP-friendly and one that’s more TCW-friendly. Both share a lot of the same stories, but with a few differences.
Here’s how they look:
Timeline 1 – CWMMP-Friendly
- Star Wars: Dawn of the Jedi: Into the Void
- Star Wars: Dawn of the Jedi (comics)
- Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi (comics)
- Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (comics)

- Star Wars: The Old Republic: Revan
- Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II

Since this timeline features the issues of the Republic series set during the Clone Wars era, it also includes the Republic comics set before the Clone Wars, as well as later Dark Horse series like Dark Times, Purge, and others that pick up and continue the stories established during the Clone Wars era. On top of that, it features novels and series that fit seamlessly with the CWMMP overall, like Jedi Apprentice, Jedi Quest, and other stories that naturally complement the events and characters explored in the Multimedia Project. This way, the timeline maintains a strong and coherent flow.

Since this timeline focuses on TCW, it can’t include the CWMMP or any of the comics and novels tied to it. That’s because TCW and the Multimedia Project contradict each other too much to coexist. To fill the gaps left by removing those stories, I used novels, comics, and other material that fit naturally with TCW, like Catalyst, Rebel Rising, the Marvel Darth Vader comics, and the Obi-Wan & Anakin comic. And since I believe it’s necessary to have a “before and after,” I included a fan edit of the 2003 2D Clone Wars series that trims the over-the-top parts of the original and shows Anakin’s path to becoming a Jedi Knight, setting up the events of TCW. Additionally, given my distaste for the TCW arcs that come after Season 6’s inhibitor chip story, I replaced them with the final two episodes of the 2003 Clone Wars fan edit, which feature the Nelvaan arc and the invasion of Coruscant. As a final note, my personal fan edit of Attack of the Clones fits better with TCW, because the changes I made to Anakin’s character in my edit make him more consistent with how he’s portrayed in TCW. That’s why this timeline is the only one of the two that includes my edit.
Even though one timeline is more CWMMP-friendly and the other is more TCW-friendly, both timelines are extremely similar and include most of the same stories. Also, like I said in another thread, I’ve never been that invested in the post-ROTJ era, so both timelines conclude with Return of the Jedi itself. Needless to say, I enjoy all the stories I’ve listed in both timelines.
