Perhaps the fans could bring it back as they did with Family Guy.
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

The fans and the producer, David X Cohen, have really been tyring, but fox was expecting 'Simpsons in space' and when that's not quite whta they got, they weren't happy.
But anyway, let me make my plea now:

BRING BACK FUTURAMA!!

It's the one where Fry and Bender (and Leela in disguise) join the army. They go through training, and Fry has to battle a remote with a lightsaber-like device while wearing a flight helmet with the visor down. He finally hits the remote, and candy falls out like a pinata.

There is no lingerie in space…

C3PX said: Gaffer is like that hot girl in high school that you think you have a chance with even though she is way out of your league because she is sweet and not a stuck up bitch who pretends you don’t exist… then one day you spot her making out with some skinny twerp, only on second glance you realize it is the goth girl who always sits in the back of class; at that moment it dawns on you why she is never seen hanging off the arm of any of the jocks… and you realize, damn, she really is unobtainable after all. Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

Fox has this un-nerving habit of cancelling shows I like...

Went and signed the petition for ya (and lets face it, for me too).

Have been slack - but found a couple more ...

In Ferris Beuller's Day Off:

When the garage attendents "borrow" the Ferrari and take it for a spin - they jump the car to the strains of the SW opening theme.

Also, in Back to the Future, when Marty is convincing his future dad to ask out his future mum (mom for those of the Webster's spelling) he claims to be "Darth Vader"...

HEY!!!

Was researching this post (god I love the internet) to make sure I got my facts straight:

QED Wikipedia has an entry for just about everything - so click here.

I think my work here is done.

Wait a minute - on careful examination, it seems that Wikipedia is missing some info posted here ...

So perhaps my work can continue ...

Luke sighs and levitates the saber in the air where it comes down on the patient, going through the back of the head. "Are you happy?" Luke asks. "I'm never happy," Ben replies.

This Episode was just on last night, actually. It has indeed aired on televesion more than once.

Don't think it's been mentioned yet but "Team America" had a Cantina-esque band playing in the tavern scene. And one of the TA members dons a familiar looking brown robe and pulls the Jedi mind trick during the finale.
The Venture Bros. episode where Dr. Venture has a garage sale features the sale of a rejected working lightsaber prototype, (Kenner balked at the multimillion dollar per unit cost!) to one of the Monarch's henchmen. When he tries to use it on bodyguard Brock Sampson, the henchman does the infamous "Jedi kid" moves.

I don't know if you guys have seen the show known as 'Coupling', but it is an extremely hilarious BBC production. It's a British sitcom about relationships, basically, but it always ties things up in a hilarious fashion. And before I go on, I must warn you to STEER WELL CLEAR of the American version of this show - it has been re-shot verbatim with an all-American cast to make it more palette-able to the American populace. Well, I don't know why they do this all the time (is UK humour that hard to understand), but the humour has been decidedly lost in the translation.

Anyway, the episode I refer to is about 'The Melty Man', which is a codename for the anxieties, fears, and negative thoughts that cause men to have erection problems. Anyway, when one of the characters recalls the legend of the Melty Man, he is asked to describe him. He describes him as 'Darth Vader, without the helmet'.

In a later scene, another character, who was warned about the Melty Man, but didn't believe in him, has an encounter with the Melty Man in the bathroom, just before he is about to 'perform'. It went something like this:

"You don't know what happened to your erection."

"I know enough. Jeff told me you killed my erection."

"No! I am your erection!"

"Noooooooooo! That's not true, that's impossible!"

"Search your feelings, you know it be true!"

You guys have to see it. It's bloody funny.

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet:

From Stargate SG-1:

Jack O'Neill: We brought pizza and a movie.
Teal'c: Star Wars.
Jack O'Neill: He's seen it, what? Eight times?
Teal'c: Nine.
Jack O'Neill: Nine times. If Teal'c likes it, it's gotta be okay.
Sam Carter: You've never seen Star Wars?
Jack O'Neill: Well, you know me and sci-fi...

Hey these latest two are great!

I saw a second reference in scrubs the other day - in season 2, will have to go and check it out again to get the exact reference.

This is getting a bit like trainspotting or birdwatching or something else equally weird - once you get looking you find them everywhere!!!!!!!!!!

Its starting to become a bit of a hobby... I can't help it I tell you!

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back is rife with Star Wars references. Ben Affleck bagging out Greedo shooting first is priceless! Not to mention cameo appearances of Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill...

I was watching 'Justice leage unlimited' the other day when I got home from work, and therre was this big fat clown guy who pulled out a double bladed lightsaber...just like Mauls.

I could'nt believe it...I was going to my girlfriend "look, look a bloody lightsaber"...was cool!

On a side note, I bought a force fx lightsaber a few months back...Luke's from Empire to be precise...it's great. Well....
The other day I get home from work and my missus aint to happy with me. "Been wasting your money again" she goes.. I look at her as if to say WTF??
Then she goes into the living room a gives me a parcel from Master replicas. I'm like WTF again!
I open it, and it's a fucking lightsaber..Anakins from Sith.
She's having a pop at me, I'm thinking when the fuck did I order this thing. Obviously deep down I was well chuffed She wasn't...
Thinh is there was no note, no delivery note, nothing.

So the next day I ring up the parcel company who deliverd it.
They traced it back to Orange (UK mobile phone network company)
I think it turns out I won the bloody thing. I don't even remember entering any competions.

But it shut her up...and my little boy, who's only 9 months, bloody loves it.
You should see his face when I turn it on.

So now we play "Protect the baby from the Emperor". I hold him in one hand, the laser sword in the other and start swishing it around, repeating dialog from the films. So sad, but his little face more than makes up for it
Man I can't wait till he's old enough to sit and watch all 6 films with me...It's gonna be great!

Back to names!

I like the good ones, don't really give a toss about the bad ones

The Family Guy Xmas episode where Stewie has a nightmare and shoots Santa with his blaster, who blocks the shots with his hands a la Darth Vader in Cloud City.

Who watches Lost here??

Well I think it was the last episode where Jinn and Michael are putting the finals adjustments to the boat.

The dialog was straight out of Empire where Han is fixing the Falcon on Hoth with Chewie.

"No, no, this one goes there, that one goes there...Got it?!?" Han/Michael

To wich Chewie replies with a growl, and Jinn replies with a grunt! Brilliant.

I sense the scriptwriters are pretty hardcore SW fans

Don't really watch TV much and I'm waiting to get the lost DVD (or a download...) so haven't seen it, but that sounds like a pretty great and subtle refernce that only a real fan would get (or write).

The new Family Guy DVD Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story has a great referrence.

Peter gets his own segment on the local news show where he simply rants about whatever bothers him. The segment is called "What Really Grinds My Gears."

At one point, he says:

Peter: "You know what really grinds my gears? When I can't find the droids I'm lookin' for!"

Cut to two fully uniformed stormtroopers, sitting in their living room, eating TV dinners and watching. One says:

Stormtrooper: "Yeah, I hate when that happens!"

"Yeah, the Lost one was funny as hell...I started laughing and no one else in my family did. I didn't even bother explaining.

And Family Always has good references....someone prolly said it already but the episode that ended like ANH right before Episode 3 came out was just classic.

Hey look, a bear!
