The reason half of us here think Jedi is better, or any of the OT for that matter, is because we grew up with it!

Well thats my reason..

For me any of the OT is far better than any of the PT, only reason being is that I grew up with the films..

Man, Star Wars was in all of my childhood....I couldn't imagine my childhood without SW.

So if Jimbo likes AOTC more than Jedi fair enough!!

Jimbo...It's you opinion though mate, not everybody agrees with you, just realise that and accept the fact that OT is better than the PT...J/K


I like Phantom Menace more the Return of the Jedi. Return of the Jedi is definutly the worst Star Wars movie.

I only like The Phantom Menace slightly more then Return of the Jedi. I like Attack of the Clones way way more.

TPM had potential. The thing that really ruined it for me was that it seemed to be aimed at children far too much. I literally cringed every time Jar Jar opened his mouth. A Teletubby would have been more convincing as an alien as far as I'm concerned. C3PO had some terrible lines, I know he has always been a bit silly but his lines just weren't funny in TPM... in AOTC at least he had a few genuinly amusing moments. Don't know who played Padme's double, but she was so wooden. Her voice mainatained a single octave throughout the entire film. Also I don't know about anyone else but I thought it was very obvious that she wasn't really the Queen from the beginning. The scen that annoyed me most of all though is where Annakin destroys the robot controller thingie though; I mean come on, "Hey, what does this button do? Oh look I'm inside the hanger! Whoops, I just defeated an incredibly powerful, huge army that was in control of the entire planet without even realising it! Hooray!"... give me a break. The only part of TPM I really enjoyed was the development of Palpatines character, lurking there in the background waiting for his opportunity; it's such fun that we all know something that all the other characters are so blind to.

well, yeah I suppose we do agree on that point. But I'm trying to fan the flames. But this goes beyond are opinions on AOTC and the OT. It is just that Jimbo is a rude little jerk and has gotten under my skin.

Ditto. Besides, some genius! Doesn't even seem to get that this board is meant for people who


a) prefer and support the original trilogy (and even more so, the unenhanced theatrical cuts), and

b) don't hold CGI and other "upgrades" higher than the value of art (after all, you don't go and repaint a Rembrandt just because you consider it "out of date", noe do you?).


This is not a "the new movies are better, because they represent newer standards" or "the old movies suck, because...(blah blah)" board. *rolls eyes*

Just ignore his posts, then he can continue bitching at himself and repeating himself endlessly as much as he wants. *L*

Keira Knightly played the double. She is good I think. Also both Ewoks beeting clones and Anakin destroying ship by blind luck are equally unrealistic. Both movies had characters only kids are meant to enjoy. Both are flawed in many ways but overall still good movies. Still I enjoyed The Phantom Menace a bit more because of better effects and more generic action.

well, I can't say I'm sad. But, I do wish he would have learned lesson before it had come to this. I hope that we can just ban him for 2 months or so, and then hopefully he will learn his lesson.
