What is the worst thing in the EU?

Author

Old or new EU, although unless you state otherwise, I will assume you’re referring to Legends.

Old EU: All the stupid super-weapons.

New EU: The uncontrollable flatulence at Snap Wexley’s wedding.

My preferred Skywalker Saga experience:
I II III IV V VI VII VIII IX

Probably the Mortis Monolith in Crucible.

The whole arc with the lost tribe of the Sith and Abeloth.

The Hutt Death Star and Darksaber, Planet of Twilight, Crystal Star.

Luke acting like Jake Skywalker in the Black Fleet Crisis books.

What turned me off was the Death of Chewy and the Yuuzhan Vong. That was my jump the shark moment and I stopped reading. The only thing I read after that was Millennium Falcon.

From the Legends continuity it would be, in no particular order:

  • Palpatine’s endless resurrections.
  • The sentient, crying mountain on Endor.
  • The Sun Crusher, the Darksaber (the Hutt battlestation, not the Mandalorian blade) and all of those OP superweapons and Death Star ripoffs.
  • Luuke Skywalker.
  • The Crystal Star and Waru
  • The Jedi Prince series is pretty cringeworthy with all of its ham-fisted environmental plotlines and Palpatine’s three-eyed mutant sons.
  • Jaxxon
  • Honorable mention to the Holiday special.

From the new canon it would be the Inquisitor sabers every time they are used to fly.

Nah, those are silly in a good way. It’s in keeping with Grievous and the Indiana Jones approach to lightsabers: spinning maybe it good trick but it’s no match for the power of the Force.

That was very stupid indeed, and along with the clone of Jorus C’baoth, practically ruined The Thrawn Trilogy. I mean cloning itself is a stupid concept for something like Star Wars, and clones with force powers are beyond stupid.

Well cloning in SW was pretty much on the table since '77 when the Clone Wars were first name dropped, but yeah the way it was done left a lot to be desired, kind of a letdown for the otherwise enjoyable Thrawn trilogy.

Honestly - the overly specific poorly named mechanics of how it happens aside - that actually sounds like a pretty cool concept for a story.

Great, if Jax sees this thread, I’m going to be patching blaster holes in the walls for a week! 😉

Yes, I do live with a six foot tall carnivorous rabbit.

Where were you in '77?

I can’t forgot i forget prequelisms i really hated those. They even infected the sequel trilogy.

I am not so much against cloning bodies (besides being a lame and boring story element), but cloning force abilities with it is beyond ridiculous.

Coke and Sprite are canon in the New EU

Reading R + L ≠ J theories

It really bothers me that they didn’t bother to, like, set them aside. Or make the story of the park canon, but the actual park itself isn’t.

But nope, the park, the whole park, all of it’s canon. That includes the sodas, and other dumb stuff like that.

I’ve only had limited experience with the EU but I’d be surprised if there was anything worse then The Crystal Star. I can also vaguely recall a novel where Luke falls in love with a ghost or something.
