What is the best way to convert modern media to VHS?

You read that correctly. I want to watch pan and scan versions of modern films and television shows on VHS but I haven’t a clue where to start. I know the PT got a VHS release (though ROTS is very rare) but I would dearly love to watch Disney Star Wars and NuWho on VHS as well as some fanedits. I have a CRT TV so it would be a real hoot. Are there any known projects out there doing this?

Not sure about the best way , but I have tinkered around a bit using an HDMI to RCA converter running from my laptop to the input of my VCR . VLC media player has several options to play around with the aspect ratio . Takes some playing around with . I have had better results doing things like using full screen DVDs through a dvd recorder that can bypass copy protection . A starting point may be something like what is in this video , where he got the sequel trilogy onto vhs to fill a crt tv for the full screen …https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CNC3R4JGlNE

To clarify , I use a VHS/DVD recorder and burn the vhs recording to a dvd and then run that dvd on my laptop using VLC allowing me to play with the aspect ratio . One could repeat the process for further refinement . Might help to add in a retrotink scaler and something like topaz ai to clean it up . Haven’t tried it but would like to if I had the cash to buy those tools

That looks amazing. I remember years ago someone posted images of VHS shaped flash drives and we were wondering what Adywan’s revisited would look like pan and scanned on VHS on a CRT. This is definitely the way to go.
