War of the Worlds (TV series)

Anybody else likes this show. With the 1953 film being one my favorite Sci-fi films overall, I was thrilled to see a series made decades later and still being so close in spirit. It was a great combination of lovable cast members and  '80s horror. What somewhat kills it for me is the lost potential. The first season had so many interesting subplots and characters going for, most of which were discarded in the second one.

Anyhow as far as the whole War of the Worlds "saga" goes I'd rank just below the 1953 film and far above all 3 2005 films (though I do enjoy Spielberg's reimagining from time to time).

I thought it was ok, at first.    I remember one interesting episode when they tried to link it to the classic 1938 broadcast of War of the Worlds.    But I the series tanked when they decided to change in the third second season(I think it was the third season).

Anybody watched the 2019 BBC mini-series of ‘The War of the Worlds’?

Only 3 episodes at 55 minutes each - and some quite mixed reviews. May have to get around to watching this…

I find that answer vague and unconvincing. Why don’t you knock it off with them negative waves?
Why don’t you dig how beautiful it is out here? And say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

I hope it is available near me soon - does the BBC series have any of the Jeff Wayne soundtrack - or a re-working of?
