A new version will be available shortly. I posted a 650MB sample on the groups and would like your feedback on it. I need to know if it plays properly and if all the audio channels are accessible.

I'm downloading the sample now. It sounds like a perfect starwars dvd!

Good luck with the 70 hours of encoding

I suppose since I have the raw assets to create a DVD I should do it while I still can. It just takes an eternity for every encode and upload. MPEG2 only take about 12-17 hours to encode vs the 40+ hours for 1080P. The new DVD will most likely not have a menu but far superior image quality over the original one. Simply selecting the audio channels with your DVD remote should be enough to use it effectively.

However, the sample posted is VC1 with AC3 files encased in MKV. Please provide feedback if possible.

Feedback from the sample

Well the quality looks really great. This is some other kind of view at the starwars movies. But with my system is has some stutters in the sound. It was for me not possible to select another soundtrack. (maybe this was the meaning of the sample). I think if it was a Xbox360 HDWDM file (just like your 1080p edits) it would play like an angel on the xbox360. (y)

I play the movie with Media Player Classic 6.4.9.0 and the latest Klite Mega Codec Pack

Specs

Pentium 4 2600
1024 mb DDR
ATI Radeon 9600 128 mb (Ati Catalyst 6.5)
Windows Xp home SP2
Media from HDD played

Overall i'm very happy at the result from the sample. I know my desktop pc is not highend at today standards, but i stream or burn on dl dvd to my console.

Your system is underpowered for high bitrate 1080P VC1 files. I'll get a 720P sample out this evening that should play better on low-mid range systems. The sample is 15MB average and the 720P is 6.4MB average video bitrates. As it stands now, it looks like I'll do a DVD9 "DVD", then a DVD9 720P then a 1080P 19GB in that order. I fully expect to hear stories from people on how they vomited Star Wars in their sleep!

Then why isn't anyone letting me know if the sample I posted is working properly? I'm not posting this till I can confirm it actually works.

I don't know about anyone else, but it looked great on my machine

I can't provide feedback because I can't access the sample. Others may not be able to, either. I am assuming this is great on faith alone - others may be too.

Alright folks, the first of 3 newly revised and corrected editions are now posting. Starting the marathon of insanity is the standard DVD9 version, followed by the 720P MKV DVD9 version and then to be concluded by the 1080P Ultra Edition that the sample came from. nfo files will be attached to each version for edition specifics. Again, these are in the newsgroups and you need a premium service provider to get them till someone torrents them for the cheap ass bastards. Now if you don't mind, I have High Definition splits screens to work on...

Thanks Wookie Groomer. I hope your tone is in jest...if you are a little pissed at the moment that's a shame......you have to know that there are many people here who love your work and the opportunity to have good quality HD versions of Star Wars....

I hope you know that....you are the only one doing stuff like this and it is appreciated. Thanks for considering to redo the split screens.....those will be awesome as well....

I love everybody. Lets all smoke some reefer and chill. Hug and kisses for everybody.

Huh? pissed? not at all. I would be even more nuts to work on projects and post them while being pissed. Or did you mean drunk? Not sure what side of the world your on. However, people that don't want to pay for premium news services are still cheap basturds

Between BT and IRC I just don't really see a need for binary usenet, but that's just me. Then again, I'm not a heavy downloader.
