I agree. The DS offer better gaming experiences, and fun games, apart from allowing one to play with 16 other friends with only one game... The DS is superior to the PSP in several ways, and all the advantages the PSP had over the DS are now going to fade away with the new DS design.
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

Not ALL of them. The PSP is still percieved as cooler by the casual gamer, it still is more powerful, and it still plays a cheap movie format.

Speaking of that I finally bought Bill and Ted one on UMD, and it was quite funny.

Back on topic, anybody here want to comment on the handheld console war? It seems the PSP is faltering big time. Most of it's games are just watered down versions of console hits with weaker graphics and controls. The DS offers something unique--Age of Empires, Advance Wars Dual STrike, the Feel the Magic games.

And of course there's Mario Kart DS, which is like the ULTIMATE Mario Kart game, and is portable to boot.

The reason i'm recomending it isnt for the dirty stuff the story is beutiful. Just it was in the wrong category so hardly anyone plays it outside of japan.

What new DS design? I wasn't aware of this.

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

DS Lite Set For America
Nintendo plans for release outside of Japan after Spring.
by Anoop Gantayat

January 26, 2006 - Following the earlier announcement of the new "DS Lite" revision to the DS hardware, Nintendo's Japanese parent has cleared up a few issues.

Although the product was announced in Japan, with no details given for international market, DS Lite will indeed be released in Europe and America. The company hasn't given a specific release date, only stating that the western markets can expect a release following Spring. This seems to suggest that a simultaneous release with the Japanese version (set for 3/2) is out.

There were also some questions about the fate of the current DS model. In Japan, Nintendo will continue to produce and sell the original model. The price of the original model will remain at its current 15,000 yen, 1,800 yen less than the 16,800 yen new model.

The DS Lite will be initially released to Japan in three colors, Nintendo reveals. In addition to the white color shown in the first pictures of the system, the company will release two yet unannounced colors.

Nintendo expects the DS to continue to perform well this year, both in old and new forms. Referring to the Japanese market, company president Satoru Iwata said to the Japanese press, "Taken as a whole with the current version, we're aiming at total domestic sales of 10,000,000 units not too late in the year." At the end of 2005, the DS had sold 5.7 million units in Japan.

We expect Nintendo's US division to provide further details on the US release of DS Lite in the not-so-distant future. Keep checking back here at IGNDS.

THE LAST THING NINTEDO NEEDS TO DO IS RELEASE THEIR SYSTEM AFTER THE PS3 OR AT THE SAME TIME.

I'm just glad I sold my PSP when I did, I wouldn't get squat for it now, comparatively speaking.

I've been thinking of selling mine, Sessler. How much did you get for yours?

More than I paid for it.

I sold it to someone local that I had an aquaintance with (I would hesitate to call him a friend) back in April-May of last year.

Well, really, the only things that have stopped me from selling mine are that it was a Christmas gift and that without it I'll have to borrow my brothers if I want to watch Bill and Ted.

Well, mine was a birthday present.

I figured I wasn't using it, so I might as well just sell it and get something more useful.

My local Sam Goody is shutting down; maybe I can get something for the PSP and not have to sell it...

But what?

Lumines, which is so far the best reviewed game for the system, or Liberty City Stories so that I can play it wirelessly with my brother?

Lumines is awsome a great game. I heard LCS is a watered down version of 3.
