Indeed, so you cannot call it "terrbile controller".

From what I've read, it'll probably feature a touchscreen in which the buttons will appear, depending on the game. When you're playing a NES game, for instance, you'll see the classic A and B buttons, when playing SNES, YXBA, when playing a different game which requires only three buttons, you'll get the three buttons, and so on...

All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. When did I say I knew it would be terrible? That's my whole dilema: IF it's terrible, then I might change my mind and not go with Revolution.

Oh I see. Sorry. Misunderstood.

I will get a Revolution if it comes with a good pack of games on its release AND it offers a good compatibility with Nintendo DS.

Nintendo has become the new Sega in gaming consoles...ever since N64. (Not counting GBA)

They come out with 2, maybe 3 big time games, and that's it. And those games are associated with titles that are almost 20 years old (Zelda, Metroid, Mario).

Wouldn't surprise me if they stop making consoles and start making games for Microsoft or Sony. It seems to work for Sega.

Sorry, but its the way I feel. I can probably count on one hand the top notch GC games. I can't imagine Nintendo's making any money off GC. Didn't they lose their shirt with N64?

Actually Nintendo made a killing off the N64, even more than Sony made off the Playstation, because Developers had to pay royalties to use N64 cartrigaes.

Also, good GC games:

Mario Sunshine *
Metroid Prime 1 *
and 2
Legend Of Zelda Wind Waker*
Resident Evil 4*
Super Smash Brothers Melee*
Viewtiful Joe One *
and Two
Resident Evil Remake*
Skies of Arcadia Legends
Wario World
Eternal Darkness*
Legend of Zelda Four Sword Adventure
Tales of Symphonia
Ikaruga*
Rogue Leader*
Rebel Strike
Animal Crossing*
WaveRace Blue Storm

Also, it had probably the best versions of Soul Caliber 2 and Prince of Persia... Even excluding the 'merely good' that's hardly "one hand"'s worth.

The GC is actually a great system with some incredible games, I agree. If I had to do a top 10 of current-gen console games, the majority would be GC games. But I also think Iwata is running the company into the ground. Yeah, the DS is moderately successful, and we still have to see about GB Micro, but (IMO) Revolution will undoubtedly be their last console. Too many idiotic decisions being made for it not to happen.

What stupid decisions? We really dont' know anything about the Revolution yet, so it's hard to judge their direction.

The controller was officially presented to the official Revolution developers this week, and they signed to not say anything about it yet, but from what everyone has heard so far, it might be something like this (this is NOT the final controller, it's a artistic concempt on it's description):

That thing looks friggin' awesome. But I won't believe it until I see it on Gamespot or a trustworthy Magazine.

Is it true that the PS3 will be 10 times more powerful than the X-Box 360?

Probably not. Sony likes to give you pure numbers without taking into account there will be an actual GAME running once you pop it in the system.

That's not to say it won't be more powerful, though: After all, it is being released after the XBox.

Actually your wrong I just checked it up there now on the PS2 mag. The chip is 15 times more powerful than the X-Box 360.

And I'm sure the Magazine isn't at ALL biased to Sony.[/sarcasm]

When you get right down to it, all we have now is just meaningless numbers. Wait till you see the games in action before you judge. (Granted XB360 has been underimpressive so far, but so was Halo at E3 2001.)

The controller WILL be something like this, the buttons appearing on the controller and it being basically a touch sensitive screen, we just don't know how it'll look like. The thing is: while having real buttons and a + pad is easy to controll because of grip, how is this controller going to work? I mean, you'll be touching "nothing", there will be no buttons and pads, it'll be like "rubbing" a controller with no buttons... It'll be kinda weird.

That's why I said it *looks* awesome.

Honestly I've been against the idea of a touch screen controller fromthe beginning for that very reason.

Metal Gear Solid 4 and Gran Turismo 5 will lighten my interest for the Playstation 3.

Meh. I detest SimDriving and Stealth games.

But oh Boy is Smash Brothers III Online sounding good right now.

I don't know. I've never actually played it, though I hope that it is one of the games downlaodable over Revolutions' virtual Console System. Or that Square releases it on GBA or DS....

I've always heard it's one of the best.

OK, here's my insight in some games I've played so far:

* Wario Touched (Nintendo DS): Very fun minigames. It might take a while for you to figure out what's giong on, and when you do it could be too late. The minigames are quite fun to play, specially those spoofing old nintendo games. I don't know the re-play factor for this game, it might get old after you did all the minigames...

* Wario Twisted (Game Boy Advanced): As above, but EXTRA fun. The gyroscope works great, and gives a feeling feedback to the user like the rumble pack did. The mini games are also quite fun, and guaranteed to make you laugh. If asked to chose between the two "warios", I'd probably choose Twisted.

* Meteos (Nintendo DS): A somewhat confusing but creative puzzle game in which you must align columns horizontally moving them only vertically, and thus sending them as rockets to the enemy. It didn't seem to be that much fun, but I could be wrong...

* Ridge Racer DS (Nintendo DS): I've played only the multiplayer version, and it seemd kinda buggy, alghough fun. Of course, these early games might have some problems with multiplayer, but not letting the racer use it's username as the name onscreen is ridiculous. The controllers are good and respond actually well. I haven't played the single player version, so I can't tell how good the game actually is, but the multiplayer version is actually quite fun, if you have enough people to play.

* Puyo Pop Fever (Nintendo DS): By SEGA. I own this one. It's a puzzle game similar to tetris or shapes and columns, but with focus over the "combat" mode. It's more complex than it seems, and although it gets "too cute" sometimes, it looks and sounds great. The multiplayer mode is fun, but if one player is better than the others, the whole game is ruined (you can set up a handicap). It's one of my favorite games, and is HIGLHY addictive...

I'll add more reviews later.

I've been hoping to pick up several of those when I get the money.

Also, based on the reviews, I'd get Kirby's Kanvas Kurse for the DS when you have the spare dough for it.

Change in topic -

I never had any problems in college but now that I'm a working stiff there is a much smaller contingent of gamers in my social circle. Any of y'all on xbox live? Sometimes I get tired of playing with kids whose voices have yet to change and are just taking their new arsenal of curses and suggestive language for a test drive. So I wouldn't mind filling up my friends list with a few OT types.

I'm RileyCastejon on there, if anyone is interested.

---

Oh, and regarding the next gen, I'm all about the revolution. Since I never deemed the gamecube worth the time, the backwards compatibility would help me catch up on the gems that I missed. But I don't know where Nintendo is taking this whole thing, if the controller is gyro sensitive or just going in the wrong direction, it could screw up the whole thing. So I'm waiting to see what this revolution is all about.

I'm one of those cheapassgamers (check out www.cheapassgamer.com if you've never seen it) who waits two years before entering the new generation, when everything is cheap, so I'll have plenty of information when decision time comes. In the meantime, I catch up on my backlog of games from this generation.
If you're going to take forever, then I'm having a hotdog!
