It was sarcasm.

In Katamari Damacy, you roll around while listening to addicting tunes.

In GTA: San Andreas, you roll over pedestrians while listening to killer tunes.

Ok, that's done. Next challenge??

The PS3 currently looks better than the 360, but that doesn't mean anything. It's very possible that the PS3 demos we saw were heavily pre-rendered.

I wouldn't write off any of the next gen systems just yet.

Who knows, Nintendo might be the leader this time out if they can pull their act together and play their cards right.

Nintendo Revolution?, is that the name of the new Nintendo console.

It's the current code name. It may or may not change before the launch of the system (Like the Dolphin became the Gamecube and Project Reality became the Sixty-Four).

Sessler, somehow I don't see the general public embracing Nintendo, as much as it pains me. I'd really love it if Nintendo was uber-sucsesful and had the resources to make their own uber-killer apps like Halo and GTA.. but I just don't think it will happen. Ironically, it's Nintendo's target audience really--the 7-17 year olds--that tend to shy away from Nintendo games because their too "Kiddy"...

It probably could be the name.

The Gamecube was totally underutilized by the companies, it was so much better than the PS2 theoretically, but its public image just wasn't what people (read: pre-teen kids that think they are too "hip" and "gangsta" for Nintendo) wanted.

Not really "Hardcore" but definitely moreso than the average consumer.

I just hate it that companies like Nintendo and Insomniac work like crazy to make great games only to have them outsold by the Halo's and GTAs, which while good games, only sell because of their subject matter. Metroid Prime was at least as good as the first Halo but the sales were nowhere close. Same with GTA and Wind Waker. Or Rachet and Clank against Jak and Daxter.

What about R&C vs J&D, I thought they were pretty much about the same salewise?

You think so? I've always thought Jak and Daxter sold better after Jak II because of Jak's "Growing Up" and getting all mature. Maybe not.

I like Nintendo as much as anyone, believe me. But what you said is simplifying the scenario. Success doesn't revolve around 3 or 4 great fanchises. That's Nintendo's WHOLE problem which seems to be totally lost on people. Sony understands this. Microsoft understands this. Third party support is key, and if you look at the GC, they (3rd parties) fled from it like the plague, due to Nintendo's idiotic marketing policies. Sorry Chaltab, but but 75% of gamers aren't 6-15-year olds looking for party games.

Did Nintendo reveal anything else for the Revolution at E3? Not even the new controller? I say this E3 was a REAL let down, I was expecting so much more...

I do think that Jak is better than Ratchet.

Jak1 looks crap compared to the sequels.

I like the GameCube, but that's because I'm always a sucker for the underdog.

Princess Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

I've been playing my GC a lot more lately. I haven't even touched my PS2 in several months.

What are you talking about? Nintendo has some of the best comercials of any company out there. Honestly, I think Nintendo's problem is it's--for lack of a better word--whoring of Mario and Pokemon. It makes them look desperate.

Still, the GC has games for older audiences; Eternal Darkness, Mortal Kombat, Ikaruga, Rogue Squadron, Resident Evil, Zelda, Prince of Persia. The problem is that the general public cares more about image than quality of games. And third parties retreated from the 'Cube because it stopped selling well. It was consumers that killed the Gamecube, not Sony or Microsoft.

So:

Killer Seven: Anybody know enough about it to share their opinion? Personally I think it won't sell well no matter how good it is just because of the weird gameplay style. I'm still debating whether it will be worthwhile or not; it seems more like a crazy LSD trip than a game.

I think it'll be like that other cel-shaded game that came out around Aug 2003, It was hyped up much like Killer Seven, but it wasn't very good(I can't even remember the name of it now, it had David Duchovny and Adam West in it).
