Funny Fallout 3 should come up as I have just started playing it again. Didn’t get too far my first time trying to run through it due to constant crashing but I’m completely enthralled by it. I just don’t like the wonky hit detection but the questing and everything else seems solid thus far. I just pretty much destroyed the Enclave and engaged Project Purity but if it’s anything like TES (which it is in pretty much every way) I should have only scratched the surface.
New Vegas is better in every way
This is the first time I’ve read this on the entire internet.
I thought it was a pretty popular sentiment.
The RPG elements are expanded on massively, with multiple factions you can join and multiple endings. The characters are much more interesting. The gun mechanics are improved on with new ammo types and ironsights. The only thing I think Fallout 3 did better is the map, the map in New Vegas is pretty empty, though that’s kinda expected from the Mojave desert.

Well in that case…
Playing Resident Evil 2 for the 1st time. Beat Leon A and working on my way up with Claire B. So far the B campaign is faster since I know the layout of the police station but harder since there seem to be more powerful monsters.
I am enjoying it a lot! It’s not a very long game once you know what to do but there is a good amount of replayability. I would like to try Claire A and Leon B sometime and this time I’ll shut those damn electric shutters!

Yep. The only way I got through that segment is because there are a few beds in the sewer so every time I would kill one I would just sleep. I know it’s cheese but in this case I think it’s justified.

That’s quite an understatement…I didn’t expect them to be so fast. I’m glad there’s no staggering in this game like there was in Oblivion. If there was they would be impossible to kill.
Aside from the Deathclaws I have been getting freezes lately when I use my Pipboy, am looting a mob or using VATS. Not hard crashing but it’ll just freeze. That’s infinitely more frustrating.

Ubisoft is giving out one free game per month for a year via uplay. This month’s game is Splinter Cell, which I played years ago on my Playstation 2, nice to have it on PC now.

Picked up No Man’s Sky yesterday from GOG and played it for about 5 hours last night. I’m apparently one of the lucky ones who isn’t having major performance issues with the PC version. Some occasional hitching, but fairly solid framerates with all settings maxed out.
I feel like I should be bored out of my mind just flying around and exploring with no clear goals, but I’m enjoying it quite a bit. I spent most of my time in games like Fallout 3 and Skyrim dungeon crawling and spelunking with no real purpose other than to kill things and gather loot, so I guess it makes sense.
Anybody else here using GOG? Definitely my favorite game store.

Yeah I’ve been enjoying my time with NMS as well.
I still prefer Steam’s infrastructure for modern games, but man do I love GOG for preserving and restoring classics that would otherwise be lost to time. I have a strict policy of only buying the GOG version of older titles as I know that that will always be the best version available out there in terms of performance on modern systems.
Steam’s ancient HTML-based client sucks and is really starting to show its age.

I feel like I said it not long ago, but I love GOG for what they do and especially because Valve has rested on their laurels for far too long and need a nice shaking up. Nowadays when I want a game I check GOG first.
