I heard xhonzi is moving, if he hasn't already. This makes him a jerk and I encourage you all to let him know it.
A couple of the new ideas I really liked (crouch-walking and having an outline of the last place anyone saw you) have recently been announced for Unity, so there's that. I agree with this article that the Nemesis system is like the L4D "Director"; sure they're AI, but giving them a name makes us hate THEM and not the designers. Also it should be adapted for more games.

Xhonzi, you're a jerk. Now TV's Frink won't be able to find your kitchen.
I guess you're doubly a jerk, Xhonzi.
I don't even have a kitchen at the moment. Just a.... kitchenette.

Has anyone here played Tony Hawk?

SF Debris' review got me to start working my way through KOTOR again for the first time in years.
I had forgotten what a great game this is and the graphics still look pretty good if you can over look the fact that they are not in HD. This is one of the few games I would ever buy an HD remake of so I could play it on a modern system. If I had one complaint it would be that I wish the combat was just straight up real time and if you hit or missed your attacks was solely based on your aim instead of a simulated D&D dice rolling system that some times causes you to miss. Still the rest of the game is so good that I can over look the combat having problems and you can't say that often, also it is so packed with content that I have already spent more time playing the game then I did on the inter game of Mass Effect 3 and I am only about a third of the way through this game. Talk about a great game. If you have never played this game before and you are a Star Wars fan stop what you are doing and go play it now! The PC version is cheap used, doesn't need a code or anything else to install and be played, and it is the best Star Wars game ever made!
I will say this it is strange hearing voices I am used to hearing in Mass Effect coming out of other character's mouths.
This game is proof of what Bioware can do when EA isn't messing things up.

I did, in a musical production of Skater Boy. I got rave reviews.

New/Old LucasArts style Point and Click adventure from Ron Gilbert!
Hopefully this will make up for the disappointments that were Broken Age and Moebius.

Meh, the REAL Super Mario Bros. 2 is better. This wasn't even supposed to be a mario game. Don't get me wrong, it's a great game, but it doesn't hold a torch to the japanese super mario 2, which to this day is the only super mario bros. sidescroller that even still challenges me. (official anyway)
From what I've read recently, actually, what became Doki Doki Panic was supposed to be Mario 2 after all.
Here's a couple of links I've found:

That's interesting. The japanese super mario 2 is still better though. And by that I mean what was released on the super nes as Lost Levels.
I've played it. It's a good game, don't get me wrong, but after you play SMB2USA, the Japanese version just feels like a slight rehash of SMB1. It's rewarding if you manage to beat it, because of its increased level of challenge, but on the other hand "Mario Madness" adds some welcome variety. New graphics, new music, new gameplay, new enemies...
Hell, I'm kind of disappointed they didn't bring back this little guy for other Mario games
its wiki entry says he only came back for a GBA game and for Super Princess Peach on DS.
But Shyguy, oh! He deserves to be in more* than 3 or 4, he's special!
SMB2J a rehash of super mario bros 1? You must be crazy. Where are you getting that? Would it be because it uses an identical gaming engine and the same graphics, reuses the whole system with the only changes being slight tweaks to Luigi's physics, or that it is essentially just a level hack of the original?
:P Sarcasm. Of course it's a rehash, but I love it. SMB2USA is definitely a good game though, for sure.
Speaking of the old mario games, I wish there was a way to play the SNES versions of SMB1 and lost levels with the physics of the NES ones. The SNES ones have great graphics (well great for a remake of a nes game anyway) and it actually makes me feel very involved. Unfortunately they tweaked the physics and the originals feel smoother.
The SNES remake of SMB3 kicked fucking arse though.
(belated) christmas gift from 2 very awesome friends:
Hope you have more fun with that than I did. :P
A Goon in a Gaggle of 'em
It's an NES, it's not supposed to be fun to play. It's supposed to be a test to see how long you can "play" the thing before you scream at the top of your lungs and then pull all of your hair out.
Like boot camp it is supposed to tear you down and then build you back up as a new stronger man, the only difference is the average NES game is more painful then boot camp.
I think you've confused NES with Intellivision.
Steam Winter Sale is meh. Or I just already have everything.

Oh that's right, NES games were just supposed to drive you insane.
I played with one Intellivision in my life and I have no idea how you were supposed to control games from the number pad from a telephone.
