I find it interesting how they cannibalized the original TRON sequel, TRON 2.0 for both the new film and video game.

In TRON 2.0, the son of Alan Bradley(Bruce Boxleitner) enters the grid to rescue his father. Once inside he discovers a virus corrupting the system.

So, I'm back to hawk my wares again-

I'm selling a Steam copy of Borderlands 2 GotY edition for a friend.  She wants $30, but I talked her down to $29

I'm also selling my extra Steam copy of Morrowind that I ended up with since I bought the Anthology set and it came with Morrowind.  It's GotY edition as well, and I'm asking $5.

Anyone interested?

Playing Ocarina of Time:Master Quest (zelda).  It's amazing, it actually makes Ocarina of time challenging again as if playing for the first time.  Kinda feels like ocarina of time meets a link to the past.  (More enemies in every room, having to defeat all enemies in a room to open the door, enemies overall just being bastards, etc) and the reworked puzzles really make this game fresh again.  Even if master quest did come out in 2003, I've never played it before. It's definitely alot harder than the original.

I've been playing the Zelda games for n64 (ocarina of time and majoras mask) on the pc connected to my hdtv with an hdmi cable, rendering all graphics at 1080P and with a custom texture pack that replaces low res graphics (which already look better upscaled) with hi res textures, and the pack is over 20 times the size of the entire game, it's a whole new experience, and it looks beautiful.

Late response.  Personally, I prefer the original upscaled textures to any texture pack.  It helps that the video plugin I use can make the games native widescreen (with varying success, but it's perfect with Zelda.)  It doesn't stretch the picture, it actually opens it up.  If the plugins that support texture packs can do this I haven't found a way yet.

I know exactly what your talking about, and no the ones that support texture packs don't do this unfortunately.  I have to disagree though.  Have you tried the "community" texture pack for OOT?  It's about 700 mb.  But everythings the same art style as the original nothings changed, it's as similar as possible to the original textures except everything is just MUCH more detailed.  It's much better than upscaling the original textures IMO, since it doesn't change the feel of the original at all just makes it more detailed.

As I said a bit earlier 'Dues Ex: Human Revolution' on the PS3 is maaahh favourite game. But I was looking at video of and reading reviews of the recent 'Director's Cut' version and was wondering if it was worth an upgrade.

It's another £19.99 on PSN on top of what I've already spent on the game which seems very steep for a glorified patch.

Has anybody upgraded and thought it was worth the money?

I am trying to make that same decision.  On PC, you can upgrade the regular cut + DLC to the DC for $5.  I think I paid $6 for the game (haven't played ityet), so $5 for a 'glorified patch' seems steep.  But if I'm going to play it for 40+ hours, another $5 to make the experience better seems worth it.

Are you familiar with E.Y.E. Divince Cybermancy?  Supposed to be like (the original) Deus Ex.  I have some extra Steam copies.  I haven't played that one either, but it looks like it has a bit of a learning curve.

If you've not played Dues Ex:HR yet I'd STRONGLY reccomend getting the Director's cut.

Most reviews and my view too are that the original version of Dues Ex was a near masterpiece but the boss battles are absolute cr*p.

The main game invites you to meet problems and enemies with multiple appraoches, techniques and skills. The boss battles are just button mashing explody things. So you can spend the first part of the game honing all you super secret stealth skills, then find that the first boss is only vulnerable to a huge explosive weapon, meaning you hit a massive difficulty spike. This is because for some insane reason the boss battles were farmed out to an outside studio.

With the DC, Eidos Montreal have apparently completely redone all the boss battles themselves, to make them play like the rest of the game. So for you I'd pay the money. But for me having bought the game and all the DLC and played it all through 4 times. It's difficult to decide to spend that money on just a 5th play through, even if it's a better experience.

Also being familiar with the title, I can see how the new second-screen feature would integrate beautifully. I can just picture hacking my way past all the security on an ingame computer console (Which you will do hundreds of times) using my iPhone.

Well, it was on sale this weekend, so I upgraded my copy to DC for $3.  Hmm... now I just need time to play it.

They're apparently still figuring that part out for the PC.  I'd like to play it that way- so hopefully it will work by the time I get around to playing it.

No not familiar with that one, the original Deus Ex or the other sequel. I could never get past the fiddely interface and outdated graphics of Deus Ex1 when I tried it back in the day despite it's strong reviews (So I'm only going to be less impressed if I tried it again).

I've got a Steam account because you got AvP2000 free one time but other than that and a few other older titles I don't game on my PC anymore (Not got the specs). I was a loyal PC user and builder until the belated release of GTA4, which when it finally did show up wouldn't run properly despite my PC at the time being top of the range. I decided it wasn't worth the hassle constantly updating an expensive gaming PC anymore, so I switched to a handy laptop and a console. Been very happy with my PS3 and Vaio ever since.

Yeah, that sounds a lot like the reason I converted to console in ~2001.  But I'm back to PC now.  Pretty happy with that decision.

I haven't played Human Revolution yet, but I'd be surprised if it was as deep as Deus Ex 1.  They just don't make games like that anymore.  Deep's probably not the right word... but even with Bioshock Infinite's 1999 mode, it's still not nearly as 1999y and 1999 games were.  Deus Ex 1 is very 1999y.  I am excited to play HR, but don't expect it to be as 1999y as Deus Ex 1.

Check out some youtube videos of E.Y.E. sometime and see what you think.  It's apparently so 1999y that it's 1998y.

Absolutely! And also there are packs for Majora's Mask as well so if you want to experience it again without playing the same game you can try that.  Also it works with Master Quest!

There's a few of them.  If you want to use an ocarina of time pack (other than the cell shaded ones) PM me, because the ones that use "realistic" graphics are the community pack and phantom7's pack, but they are both missing several things but most of the missing elements can be found in one or the other packs but not both, plus one pack may have glitches that the other pack doesn't have, etc.  I made a hybrid version of these two packs that I used myself that I would love to share with you.  (I've never made it public as it's not my work rather a combination of other people's work)

The BlueDart majora's pack is pretty sexy though.

 For a dollar?

picked up Deus Ex 1 and 2 [yes, DX fans - DX2 exists] for cheapsies. I forgot how chunky these games look. DX2 definitely feels like a console port and yet...no controller support - strangely the menus can be navigated with a controller. Looking at some 3rd party options, playing it with a keyboard just isn't that much fun.

Got into the TITANFALL Beta. So far it's a good bit of fun but already I can see that it suffers from the same issues as other shooters - mostly jerks.

The wallrunning / parkour style when you're on foot keeps things fast paced and you get special weapons for dealing with the mechs [Titans].

One thing that bothers me about these games is that you have to grind to unlock the good stuff - but at least it seems to happen fairly quickly in TF.

There isn't much variety in the Beta. Hopefully there's a lot more content in the full product.

EDIT: looks like they are opening up the beta to all xbox one owners [xboners?] - go get some.

I used up all of my copies of the game.  But you can still get it for $1 (or whatever your upside down equivalent of it is in Aussieland) from indiegala.  Go get it!

I liked DX2 okay when it came out.  It was a step in the wrong direction from DX1, but I still enjoyed it for what it was.  I was a Kb/M player at the time, so lack of controller support didn't bother me... but it would now.

I think DX1 has several different HD texture packs out there.  Have you already looked into that?  I'm thinking I would enjoy a DX1 replay someday, but would probably have to use some tweaks to make it feel now like it did then.

I played the Beta on PC this weekend for 2-3 hours.  I liked it.  Not enough to drop $60 on it anytime soon... and I often feel like any time I spend in competitive multiplayer gaming is fun, but ultimately does nothing to get me closer to finishing the games I must play before I die... so I don't look for those games much.

I was amused to find out that our newest/third Wii U game, Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze, doesn't only allow you to not use the gamepad at all, but turns off the second screen completely (Super Mario 3D World mirrors the screen at all times and Zelda: Wind Waker HD uses it for inventory).

I'm not sure if I should be disappointed that Nintendo isn't utilizing their own gimmick, or thankful that they're not slaving themselves to it.

I am really liking the Assassin's Creed 4 second screen on my iPad. That's something we need more of.

Thanks for the tip (It's £4.99 for UK Deus Ex fans btw). It looks almost as good as the full game. I might wait a bit and see if it gets ported to the PS3 (Like they did for one of the MGS titles) because it looks like it will suck to play on a touch screen.

I'd rather they spent the time developing more DLC for the actual game because the 'Missing Link' mini-game was freakin' awesome. Playing that whole thing through on the hardest settings with no weapons and no upgrades takes pure dedication but a lot of fun.
