Did anyone want Skyrim (Steam) but miss it during the sale?  I have vanilla and Legendary versions I need to sell.  $8 and $21 respectively.  I have them listed on my trade list at the Original Trilogy group on Steam.

You've got time to decide.  Maybe.  What I mean is I still have it.

Bioshock 2: Minerva's Den on Xbox 360 is currently on sale.  As well as Bioshock Infinite DLC.

^^^ I'm still thinking - if somebody else is interested, don't wait for me to decide.

Hey guys - is anyone interested in joining a 10 sector challenge?

Doomworld’s 10 Sectors competition was held in 2000 and is widely regarded as one of the most successful editing competitions in the history of Doom.

The basic idea is that you build the best map that you can while only using 10 sectors.

http://doom.wikia.com/wiki/Sector

My friend and I were considering doing one - on a small scale - just for fun. See how things go from there.

I'm more interested in doing it for fun than creating great results.

I'd assume by this point that everyone would have access to a copy of doom / doom 2 etc. And the tools are all available for free. There are plenty of tutorials on youtube and such.

So I just got an invite to the Project Spark Beta. Is anyone else using it?

I haven't built anything with it yet. I'm just having a sticky beak.

apparently the xbox part of the beta doesn't start until Feb so it's only windows 8.1 at the moment.

Just re-installed Fallout New Vegas. I think I might have to finally try hardcore mode.

This video was posted at the end of last year but it was new to me:

"You're like a dog at the controls of a helicopter"

Two UK broadcasting legends from different generations, Charlie Brooker and Jon Snow talking unedited. Games writer and presenter Charlie tries to explain videogames to TV journalist Jon (Who has never played one) while trying out the brand new PS4. I was laughing so hard I almost cried.

For some reason my wife and I convinced ourselves that we needed to buy both a Wii U and a PlayStation 3 (three). I guess I'm going to work my way through some PS3 exclusives shortly.

The Wii U is a ton of fun for party games, not sure we'll buy anything third party. Just a Nintendo machine.

I would tell you what PS3 exclusives to play, but I think you'll probably have traded in your PS3 for a PS2 (or a Dreamcast or something silly like that) before you have a chance to play any of them.

Dreamcast is next on my list.

But seriously, I'll keep the PS3 around for a few years until the next gens get a price drop.

I've been wanting to get a PS3 for the exclusives for a while now. But a friend of mine is trying to convince me to just hold off and get a PS4 to play those games with Playstation Now.

I've tried video game streaming before with OnLive. Latency was not an issue and the picture quality was good but it was a little too soft for my taste. Which is my concern for the Gaikai powered Next. The picture being too soft would really bug me.

You can find used PS3 exclusives laying on the ground at this point. I'm not sure how much these streaming games will cost, but they'll be more than $5-6 dollars I'm sure.

I've had the PS3 for one day, I already am in possession of the following:

Owned:
Last of Us
BEYOND: Two Souls
Batman Arkham Origins
Best of PSN, Vol 1

Borrowing:
Skyrim
Tron Evolution
LEGO Star Wars Complete
Bioshock
Arkham Asylum
God of War 3
Uncharted: Drakes Fortune

I asked my friend if his (7 year old) son had any games he wasn't playing he'd think I'd like, so that's what I'm borrowing.

I haven't played any of them and I'm already overwhelmed. Did get to set up my PSN ID, which thankfully is doubleofive since it wasn't taken.

The original 'Arkham Asylum' is the best of that bunch ^ IMO. But my favourite titles on the PS3 (Excluding AA) have been (In order):

1. Deus Ex: Human Revolution (By a huge margin. Characters you care for, complex story, action, stealth, gorgeous design, it has it all)

2. Red Dead Redemption (GTA on horses. A vast world in meticulous detail)

3. Tomb Raider 2013 (Emotional stuff. Puzzles and stealth in a semi-sandbox. Becoming a crackshot with the bow is just magic)

4. Fallout: New Vegas (You could almost live in this game it's so frickin' massive and involving)

5. Wolfenstein 2009 (Big guns and evil Nazis to kill. It's pure action FPS fun)

Also Sega Mega Drive Ultimate Collection is a great way to get an instant and large collection of oldskool classics for very little. Plus the triple-bundle 'HD Collections' (Metal Gear Solid, Tomb Raider etc) are cost effective packages.

Honourable mention for 'Max Payne 3'. It's by a long way the hardest game I've ever played. It starts off near impossible but becomes more playable later on, after much practice. If you can get past the initial painful difficulty spike, it gets very good indeed.

None of those are even exclusives!

Little Big Planet is a decent exclusive.  I never got the second one.

Uncharted games are pretty good.  As a former Xbox exclusive gamer, these games were oft used to tell me how much better PS3 is than 360.  Once I got a PS3, the first two Uncharted games were thrust upon me and I enjoyed them, but didn't think they were worth all of the hype.  Had they not been PS3 exclusives, they would be less loved, I think.

I rented Last of Us and played the first 10 hours or so.  Again, either I'm not in synch with Naughty Dog the way everyone else is, or I don't fall in love with the PS3 exclusives the way everyone else does.  After 10 hours, I felt I had seen what it had on offer.  I was ready for something else.

You probably already know if God of War is your thing.  I liked the first two games and had a harder time getting into the 3rd one.  The PS2 games are more simple by comparison, so it made the GoW3 seem really cluttered with too much detail by the time I got around to it.

I bought Resistance because I had heard how good it was.  I played maybe an hour of it.

I liked inFamous.  I never got around to the second one, but I liked the first one quite a bit.

I played a demo of Killzone 3.  It seemed pretty good.  I've meant to pick it up, but have never made it a priority.

I've never gotten into the Ratchet and Clank games, but those seem to be well thought of.

I will never forgive Rockstar for not releasing that game to PC. That game was just screaming Mod potential. All the GTA games have had PC releases, but none for Red.

It's got to be one of my favorite games ever, maybe even top 10. It really pushes the system hard. Still needed a PC release, I think Microsoft might've taken a shit on that.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

An odd mix on non-exclusives there, 005.  Are you telling me you've never played Bioshock?  I feel an IGNORE coming on.

I liked the Tron game, but you have to be really into Tron, I think, to come away with that experience.  The online play is fun- try it for at least an hour if you do nothing else.

I already made my comments on Uncharted.  Keep the hype in check and I think you will enjoy it.

Let me know what you think of Beyond Two Souls.  I played Indigo Prophecy and that game was really weird.  I didn't play Heavy Rain, but it looked really weird.  I have to imagine that BTS is their weirdest yet.

Did the 7 year old have Bioshock, Uncharted and Skyrim?  I don't usually tell other people how to parent their kids, but that's messed up.

Also, I bought one of the "looks like a 360 controller" controllers and was very happy with the purchase.  I do most of my PS3 gaming with it.  I have this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002ISZB2O/ref=oh_details_o04_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Downsides- wireless receiver dongle.  Also, it must have a teensy bit more lag because I had a really, really had time beating the last bosses of God of War 1 and 2 with it.  When I switched to the DS3, I just had a really hard time. :)

I never said that I was ONLY going to play exclusives. Besides, most of these were literally handed to me in a grocery bag. Heck, I've purchased, beat, and sold LEGO Star Wars years ago.

Are you telling me you've never played Bioshock?  I feel an IGNORE coming on.
I can neither confirm nor deny this.

I honestly won't even put this in my system.

I don't recall any of the hype, just that it was an exclusive. So that'll work.

Let me know what you think of Beyond Two Souls.  I played Indigo Prophecy and that game was really weird.  I didn't play Heavy Rain, but it looked really weird.  I have to imagine that BTS is their weirdest yet.
It has William Dafoe in it, I imagine its the weirdest thing ever.

He's got 5 kids, none of them have killed anyone yet. ;-) I was hoping he'd let me borrow his Assassin's Creeds...

IGNO...  Hmm... I'll need more evidence to conduct this investigation.  Good thing we are (were?) 360 and Steam buddies.  And now I know your PSN handle... this should be pretty easy.

 I never said they were???

Think I've only got two exclusives, 'Heavy Rain' and 'The Last of Us'.

HR is only average but it is worth getting on the cheap for the experience as it's unlike anything else. Like an interactive film (With a lot of interaction) where you decide the plot (In a very limited fashion) including everything from the mundane like brushing your teeth and getting dressed to the unsettling like self-mutilation and murder. Your morals will be questioned, your nerves will be shredded but ultimately you'll feel like the game fulfilled about 10% of the potential it had.

Only recently got TLOU. I'd heard reviews that said things like "The best game ever but the first couple of hours are soul crushingly boring". I've yet to force myself through the tedium of the opening. I got the impression the developers wanted to make a movie and resented the fact that I had to be allowed to press a button every few minutes.
