I like Nintendo Gamecube. Nintendo's systems are every bit as good as their competitors' systems and they're cheaper to buy. Also, I have some friends and family who have gone through a few Playstation 2's whereas I still have my original Gamecube. They're not only cheaper when they come off of the assembly line, they're also more durable.

Lol, this post was made in October 2004, when the Game Cube was still a current gen console, just three years after it came out, and two years before the Wii was released.

Xhonzi, how did you figure out that it was a reply to this post?

I know all of the posts in this thread like the back of my hand.

Actually, it made little-to-no-sense so I was curious if it was a reply to post #1.  My tenacity took me through post #3.

True?

Did Panasonic produce Gamecube-playing-post#3-replying bots? I want one!

A picture is worth a thousand words. Post 102 is worth more.

I’m late to the party, but I think this is the best song. Enjoy!

Usually bots are just banned, leaving the post intact.  I suspect this was Moth3r's work, given that he is a miserable git.

...

At least, that's what I've heard.

Did you read that on botwiki too?

So which would you prefer a 360 or PS3 with no risk of  the yellow or red rings or a 720/PS4 you need to replace every two seconds?

One of the reasons why I'm stuck in Generation 6 land is the current machines sound so fragile, heavens knows how flaky the next generation will be.

My guess is that because the current generation was so fragile, that it's a mistake they won't dare repeat next gen.

They'll make all new mistakes (or really old ones we've forgotten about).

You are not an old mistake.

You are a bubablessing.

I swear to God, I'll pistol whip the next person who says 'Botwiki'.

So, I picked up a copy of Sim City. I'ts generally good fun although lacking a few features I was expecting. Overall, a good game but nothing all that special.

That said, the game totally deserves all of the negative press it's got from the absolute cluster-fuck of a release. To play the game at all you need to be constantly connected to the Maxis servers. Problem is that the servers constantly crash or are taken offline for maintenance - this happens even after they upgraded from an initial 8 servers to over 20.

Apparently I'll be entitled to a free game from the EA catalogue for my troubles, at least.

The part I don't get is that they claimed that they were unprepared for the amount of players. Now my math may not be the best but if you produce and ship [and sell!] X amount of units - shouldn't you expect X amount of customers?

Really looking forward to Bioshock Infinite...

@Bingo

I'm pretty sure you can't even buy the 'fragile' xbox 360 anymore. Stores that do trade-ins are refusing to accept those older models now. At least around my parts. The newer models seems pretty rock solid.  It's also much quieter than the older models. No idea re: ps3.

Ultimately, are there any Playstation exlusive games that you want? If not, then probably go an xbox.

If you've got a ps2 then yo might be more at home with a ps3 but in terms of Gaming I find things to be fairly awkward. like trying to play online with friends..

@ xhonzi, I have a feeling that the 'new' mistakes will be along the lines of DRM.

I have friends with 360s and Wiis who will eventually want to upgrade.

So if I eventually do want to move into generation 7 I would have to find some other source for PS3 games and who wants to trust a sony owned cloud?
