Neither do I, I'm not even into sports. But I've played a couple of soccer ea games in the past (first one I ever played was World Cup 98- so many memories) and that guy's voice has always been there, always with the same inflection LOL

I've been playing through Halo 4: Spartan Ops on Legendary [really hard] setting. With the 3rd episode out the missions are beginning to open up and become a little more varied which is good.

The cutscenes are also getting pretty interesting. The Halo Waypoint team have been posting them on youtube - http://www.youtube.com/user/HaloWaypoint?feature=watch - There are mild spoilers since it's set 6 months after the main campaign but otherwise it's pretty safe.

Haven't really played much else lately, just various Halo 4 modes.

Just finished The Walking Dead. That was the most heart wrenching experience I've ever had with a game. ='(

Just got a whole bunch of Dreamcast games. Was disappointed to find that Quake 3 Arena was unplayable because of the controls. Might be a good reason to invest in the keyboard and mouse.

Has anyone heard of Zombie Revenge? It's fantastic! I had never heard of it before and took a gamble but it turned out to be far better than expected. It looks and plays like Dynamite Cop and Die Hard Arcade, except you beat up zombies and mutants instead of thugs and terrorists. It's apparently a House of the Dead spin-off and uses the same character models and designs. Really fun late 1990s arcade beat-em-up. Not the biggest replay value but very fun, and it's long for an arcade title. I want to play this with 2 players now.

Also got Gigawing 2. Probably one of the best bullet-hell titles I've played in a long while. It's short but sweet, and has great graphics and even better music. Too bad this was never released in the west.

Also been playing a lot of 18 Wheeler. It's fun but really, unnecessarily difficult. I've had it for three days and I can't get past the second race!

I've been playing the shit out of New Super Mario Bros DS (emulated) in the last few days. I love it even though I know how many of its predecessors it borrows from.

An addictive, challenging, great Mario game. Recommended.

Started and finished Halo: Reach over the weekend. It was a great game even though it felt a little short. I love games that let you design the main character.

I don't think? anyone has realised that the line "Nothing is true, everything is permitted" in Assassin's Creed is a reference to Nietzsche...

...and 'Performance' starring Mick Jagger

How come no-one has made any Co-Op Buddy Cop Video Games? I'd love to play one of those.

^ There are plenty if you just want to shoot people, but they don't let you trade animal metaphors or put shoe polish on the telescope.

Enjoying Dishonored quite a bit, though it seems like a mash-up of virtually every game I've played in the last few years. At various times it reminds me of ThiefHitmanOblivionFalloutBioShockArkham Asylum and Assassin's Creed, but still manages to have its own identity. Solid, fun gameplay whether you use stealth or force. I haven't had this much fun reloading saves since Hitman 2.

I finished Dishonored in a few days, that never happens! It was so much fun I couldn't stop playing. Oh noe! The video game threat!

I kept the body count as low as possible for the majority of the game and then cut loose in the last few missions. It took me a while to realize that you can get the "ghost" checkbox simply by remaining undetected, no matter the number of kills or dead/unconscious bodies that are found.

I didn't start using shadow kills (bodies turn to ash) until late in the game and it felt like a bit of a cheat really, but you can choose not to activate this power if you wish.

I had great fun doing drop kills on the tallboys from three or four stories. And add Half-Life to that list of games above too.

Aw man. I just played Spec Ops: The Line. I thought it was going to be a generic Call of Duty, modern FPS war shooter but it's actually a total deconstruction of the 'Call of Duty' type game.

I highly recommend it, the story is fantastic.  It basically takes a huge dump on 'Call of Duty' and other games like that and shows the real consequences to your actions as well as dealing with the psychological effects of war on the characters.

The characters start off as your typical 'Call of Duty' clichés and by the end are beaten down so much by the events that occur that they become fully rounded human characters.

There are no real bad guys in the game, although technically there are a bunch of 'rogue' american soldiers to shoot at but they're played sympatheticly. There isn't an Black and White morality.

It's kinda like a more serious version of 'Duty Calls' with a large chunks of 'Full Metal jacket' & 'Apocalypse Now' added in the mix.

I completed it just now, and it made me feel like utter crap. Definitely recommend people to play it.

P.S. It could do without the regenerative health system though (Although pretty much every modern game could do without regenerative health.)

Interesting, Greenie! I've been getting sick of the Modern Warfare franchise pretty well since BF3 came out, and so I didn't really pay any attention to Spec Ops, but I'll have to give it a look now.

Keep Circulating the Tapes.

END OF LINE

Oh man, I feel like I really need to play Dishonored.

I really recommend it :) The complaints that I do have are very few, the biggest problem is that it is a little on the short side. I'm playing it again on a harder difficulty (something I rarely do) and getting more out of a slower, more thorough approach. I'm also yet to attempt a lethal play-through, it apparently creates a "darker" city and storyline. More dead people = more swarms of plague rats.

I recently got Blue Stinger for the Dreamcast and it is hilariously unintentionally gay.

For a survival horror piece it's also unconventionally bright and colourful.

The dialogue is almost at original Resident Evil level cheese levels.

I'll mention it in Frink's so bad it's good thread when I get the chance.

I've been playing Dark Souls lately, not a very hard game, but plenty of challenging.

Welp, after the ending of Mass Effect 3 I pretty much lost interest in the franchise. What a complete and utter load of crap that was. But since they recently released a new single player mission I decided to go ahead and try the previous one that I had ignored. It was pretty dang good. Leviathan is a really well done and pleasantly long experience. It's done in that classic Mass Effect style from 1&2 and it makes me all the more angry at Casey Hudson.

Bioware has a lot of talented writers and it shows throughout the Mass Effect franchise. Which is why it was such a shame Casey Hudson took it upon himself to tackle the ending of the franchise by himself. Having created the franchise in the first place he is now its George Lucas.

With the news that the next entry in the franchise will be handled by their other office I'm somewhat hopeful but still pretty cynical given that Hudson will still be a part of it. They really need Drew Karpyshyn back. =(

Got a couple of Black Friday deals that I've been picking through,

Red Dead Redemption

I played Revolver on the PS2 years ago and this is easily the game they were trying to make back then. If it's a historical game then I'm usually all in, but here the story was good, the gameplay simple enough to be mastered yet tough enough to maintain interest and the replay value near excellent as I feel myself wanting to go through again on hard difficulty.

And the little references to classic Westerns was a very nice touch. Things like having an automatic similar to Pike's or being able to wear a poncho not unlike a man fond of cheroots.

Absolutely recommended. 4/4

But the Undead game is admittedly a bit freaky.

I've played World at War for years but never got around to COD4. Now I see why. For some reason I just don't enjoy playing Modern Warfare, the control feels off or perhaps I was just spoiled by the WWII sequel. ;)

I have Revolver and Gun but I've not had a chance to play either yet.

Still trying to get Willow out of the Sunnydale Mall in one piece on Chaos Bleeds (I've promised myself I will finish every game I have started before beginning anything new and it's the nearest to finished).

Has anyone been playing Farcry 3 as much as I have?

I admit I haven't played the previous two. And I'm not huge on modern FPS games. But man...this game is done well. I'm having a lot of fun with it.

I've been playing FC3 but I'v e been mostly focused on clearing enemy bases and radio towers than following the actual story so far. Once i hit a wall with that stuff I started getting stuck into the main missions.

I have the first two but I haven't played them yet for the reasons I describe above.

Look amazing though.

Bright and colourful aren't usually words associated with that sort of game but tropical islands are all that I guess.
