I could see how it wouldn't be cool if you don't have a Kinect. I hate it.
Oh, and Kinect Fun Labs is pretty cool. If you have a Kinect. Nothing earth shattering, and the Kinect Me thing made an Avatar that looks less like me than my current Avatar does... but it can copy the logo on your shirt, which is cool. It hooked us for several hours straight.

I find Kinect as laughable as the wiimote.

At least you have a choice to buy games for the 360 that DON'T feature Kinect controls. I never liked that about the Wii, every game has waggle controls, whether necessary or not.skyjedi2005 said:

Why? They're both very good when used well. They have their proper applications. Just because they are also used improperly doesn't make the tool itself bad.

Your right of course but you have to admit the demonstrations made them not just look nerdy and geeky, but idiotic as well.
Some of the Kinect E3 demonstrations some of the best comedy i have had in a while, even though its not meant to be funny.

I have to say I'm not sure if Bungie will fare better without Halo than Halo will without Bungie.
Well said.
From all that has been revealed about Halo 4 so far, it does sound like they do intend to take it in a whole new direction, which is what it needs. Not only was the gameplay nearly the same throughout the series, but the story continually rehashed itself too. Another Halo, Guilty Spark is back, oh no! Here comes the flood, run! I think that is part of the reason I love ODST so much, it was Halo, but it felt fresh and different.
To this day H2 and ODST are still my favorites, and I think that is because those were the two that did the best job of being a different experience. While Halo 2 rehashed a lot of Halo:CE, there was the whole Arbiter campaign going on alongside the Master Chief campaign, which I thought was fantastic. Three felt like an enhanced version of H1 mixed with a striped down version of H2. Reach felt like Halo 3 plus a few extras with a storyline and characters I couldn't force myself to care a thing about.
This is sort of gaming-related, so I thought I'd post this here.
I've been hosting a Let's Play livestream every Friday night for a couple of months now, and according to the viewers TotalBiscuit is kind of a big name in the gamer-nerd community (granted, it's a pretty niche community). So I proceeded to tell them what a huge cunt he was and sent them links to the WoW Radio thread here. Chuckles were had, and I like to think I de-converted a few of his fans that day.
Any retelling of the Total Biscuit story makes me happy inside.
YES!!!! Thanks for sharing that! Made my day. I need to go reread that thread. Such good times! I miss ol' Total Biscunt.
Do you have a recording of that livestream, or was the conversation behind the scenes?
I'm actually not sure. I know I've told that story twice, once on Facebook and then again during the livestream, but I'm not sure which one it is. I've been uploading all the livestreams to my youtube channel but there's no way on earth i'd recommend trying to wade through them all. :P
So short answer: Probably, I'm just not sure where it is.

Please watch the trailer to Prey 2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5h2TkpFEsn8 (Watch in HD)
I didn't care for the little of Prey 1 that I played, so I wasn't terribly interested in Prey 2. The first 30 seconds of this trailer hit earlier this year which made me say an actualTM: "What is this I don't even."
This doesn't just look like it might be a good game, it looks like decent Science Fiction to boot. Check it, check it, check it out. (And Funk's Your Brother).

That does look good! Although I was leery at first, I'd say that Abrams reboot has been a wonderful thing, even the games seem better!
Now I just have to get that carpal tunnel surgery so I can enjoy games again.

That's why you are only a level 20 some on Black Ops (with a damn near perfect KDR!), if you get that taken care of maybe we can play together. It is hard to find good people to play with. I have a really good group, but they are all in much more demanding careers than I am so it is hard for them to find time to play.
Has anyone played assassins creed for PS3? I think Im close to the end where Im fighting like 10 templars in order to get to Robert so I can assassinate him. This game is so poorly programmed as far as the controls go and things dont respond to my commands. The counter command is almost worthless as Im getting sliced and diced by the templars surrounding me. Any tips? I also bought AC 2. Plz tell me that this game is better programmed.

I played Assassin's Creed for about 30 minutes (on the 360) and gave up on it. Multiple friends of mine kept telling me to try Assassin's Creed II and when I'd tell them how much I disliked the first one, they'd reassure me that it had been vastly improved. And it has. I've actually really enjoyed playing Assassin's Creed II, it still has some really annoying controls at times, but for the most part you can make your character do what you want.
The only real control complaint I have had is how easy it is to do a wall kick off of a building you are climbing up. It is a pain to be half way up a really tall tower, and then instead of leaping to grab onto a window seal you end up making your character do a wall kick making him turn 180 degrees and plummet into nothing. Not only do you have to start all over on your potentially time consuming climb, but I've died from this a few times as well causing it to waste even more of my time.
I know it is probably an operator problem, but this far into the game it is still giving me fits. No other complaints control wise though, fighting guards and assassinating people is actually a lot of fun.

I played it several years and 2 AC games ago, so I can't remember specifics. If I recall, the counter move is the way to do it. Hold block until you can counter. That's basically all you can do. Also, try to get your back against a wall somewhere so they can't come at you from all sides. The control can be a little goofy, but I think if you sheath your sword, you can run again.
Since you're so close to end, you should finish AC1 and then move into 2. The ending of 1 is pretty interesting. But yes, I think the term for how improved 2 is is "orders of magnitude".
Just don't ask C3PX about sound or game saves. :/
