Split screen? It that a cream to protect your skin from...oops!
Wife was working late, so I played some 360 last night. Just as I was about to get bored, 3PX gets on! Not only that, he was playing LEGO Star Wars getting the same achievements I needed! So I helped him and his girlfriend get the "play online with someone" achievement and his girlfriend taught me how to do unblockable attacks for me to get that achievement.
I also redownloaded and played some Portal, to hype me up for Portal 2 next week. I mentioned getting the game to my wife, and she's going to let me preorder it tonight for the Gamestop bonus whatever (I don't even care what it is).

Well... at least someone is playing Assassin's Creed 2.
IT'S MY TRILOGY, AND I WANT IT NOW!
"[George Lucas] rebooted the franchise in 1997 without telling anyone." -skyjedi2005
"Yeah, well, George says a lot of things..." a young 1997 xhonzi on RASSM
"They're my movies." -George Lucas. 19 people won oscars for their work on Star Wars (1977) and George Lucas wasn't one of them.
Went to Gamestop to preorder Portal 2 (I get some multiplayer skin or something). Then my wife came in and looked at the games on sale. "Look, Assassin's Creed 2, you should get it." we don't get games often, so getting two in a week is really different for us.
I still don't follow why someone has to be playing AC2...

Not only that, he was splitscreening with his girlfriend on LEGO Star Wars and he wanted me to join in! I helped his girlfriend finish her achievements on it and she showed me some things I'd never seen before!

BTW, we didn't get the 3DS. Mrs. O'Five decided she would rather have a 250 CC scooter than another game system. We will probably get one closer to the release of OoT:3D.
There are not any good launch titles for the 3DS. They really should have made sure OoT:3D was ready for launch day, I think it would have increased sales a lot. Every 3DS title out right now is pretty generic or a rushed 3Dized port of something. Lego Star Wars III for the 3DS is just the DS version in 3D, the Resident Evil game is just a reworked and ported version the dumb mercenaries multiplayer mode from the console versions. Nothing for on the 3DS as if yet really stands out. Every systems needs at least one game really worth having for early adopters, the 3DS failed miserably on this point.
Meanwhile, I saw a small child holding a DSi XL the other day... I wanted to bonk him on the head, take it, and run. Does that make me a horrible person?

Xhonzi, I don't need anymore of your CRAP! I'll get around to playing AC2 when I get around to it, so why don't you just stop gettin' all up in my business and stuff!
;)
Hmm, that reminds me... I really need to play Assassin's Creed 2.

John Bender says:
No, you're a great person because you did that.
;-)
We actually played with one at Gamestop last night. I was SUPER-impressed with the 3D effect, but we looked at the games and weren't impressed. However, OoT3D and StarFox643D will change our minds in a hurry.CP3S said:

I didn't mean a majority of someones should be playing AC2 or anyone on these boards.
I'm actually a little jealous of both of you. I'm really enjoying ACB, but AC2 was such a joy to play for the first time. ACB is a great follow-on, and I think it's marginally better than AC2, but I miss a few things from AC2 and it was such a huge improvement over AC1.

Really? I'm a 3D nut/apologist and I wasn't that impressed with the autostereoscopy. Perchance it was because the Gamestop 3DS was tethered to the display- so I couldn't hold it as naturally or as steadily as I would have otherwise. But I found sublte shifts of my head to, at best, wreck the 3D effect or, at worst, invert it. It reminded me much more of a "3D" Slurpee cup or a "3D" TV Guide cover than actual 3D video (you know, with those horrible glasses). I'm not a fan of 3D glasses, but I guess I figure they are (and will continue to be for the forseeable future) better than any alternatives. It continues to surprize me what people are willing put up with just to avoid glasses.

I had to bend my body at an odd angle to see the display copy, and yes I guess it did remind me of the old type of 3D, but those cups never shot a Haduken at my face.xhonzi said:

I was hunched over the low display, trying to see the effect which was difficult. I made a snarky comment to another guy in the store:
ME : I guess this display is made for someone a little shorter than I am.
GUY : Huh? What are you talking about?
CLERK: You can take it off of the stand. It's just tethered.
ME : Oh. <gently pulls it off the stand> Yep, sure enough.

I'm not sure my employees knew that, I'm pretty sure they watched me hunch over it for 5 minutes. Maybe they were having fun. I like talking to those guys, always have. I could be a Gamestop clerk...xhonzi said:

So, Xhonzi, about five minutes ago I decided to start on Assassin's Creed II. Watching a cut scene and BAM! Finally I am in the action and playing as an Assassin, super exciting! Eh hem, what does the game have me doing? It has me as a blood covered new born infant and is telling me to repeatedly press "A" to kick my feet, I do that for a bit, and it tells me to repeatedly press "B" to wiggle my arms... already I am tempted to turn it off. How exactly is immersing me in the game any more so than just showing me a cut scene? Ridiculous games and there quick time button mashing for no reason. Just had to rant about that. Oh well, back to kicking my feet as the world's deadliest assassin... of the 1400s. Hopefully I don't have to breast feed or learn to toddle next...
;)
EDIT: Oh geez, now it has me wobbling my head.
EDIT: Haven't even really done anything but the intro and I have three achievements. Even Lego games make you work for the things.
EDIT: Oh man! And a "your sister" joke, now we're talking!
Don't worry, you get in a fist fight fairly soon later.
The game is long but it does get more interesting than 'moving your feet and arms'. Although there is a bit like that later on, but it involves undressing a lady, so it's not all bad.
Also you meet an annoying british prick (And coming from a british guy......that means.......something.....?) but he's only in the present and not the future..
<span style=“font-weight: bold;”>The Most Handsomest Guy on OT.com</span>
I met the British prick a bit ago. Hmm, undressing a lady? Classy game. I get more than enough of that in real life, don't really need it/want it in my games, I'd rather just not have to superficially press buttons to preform silly actions and actually play a video game. I hope there is some of that involved somewhere in here.
The "your sister" joke was good though. Definitely need some more of that.
EDIT: So, I just button mashed for a few minutes and knocked out a dozen or so guys, then a button held for a while to rob them, now I am on my way to see the doctor. This is game is absolutely brilliant!
EDIT: Oh man, I am about to pay a "surprise visit" to some poor unsuspecting girl who needs sleep. Not sure how I feel about this game...
EDIT: It is good to know "a minute" is all Ezio needs. Erm, this does become a game at one point, right? It isn't all about wobbling babies heads, knocking guys out and robbing them, chasing your brother, and doing slightly irritated maidens, is it?
See! There ya go! :)
To be honest I kinda felt as you felt when the bit with the 'moving baby' bit. But having played the first assassin's creed, I was happy that it, at least, gave you something to do in the cutscenes. The cutscenes in the first game were boring and annoying.
Wait until you get a sword, fun fun!
<span style=“font-weight: bold;”>The Most Handsomest Guy on OT.com</span>
Never mind, her agitation ended when I pressed "B" to remove her dress. I've never known it to work like that in real life... if there is agitation involved, attempted removal of clothing is a good way to make sure the agitation stays for a bit.
Oh shit! Her dad walked in on us! Gotta go!
(Maybe I'll get to kill something in the next hour or so!)
EDIT: Well, no assassinatin' to be done yet, fun can wait, we've got documents needin' deliverin! Wow, I swear this is going to turn into a game at some point. No way it got this good of review for being a non-game. Maybe it makes you work really hard between play time as a sneaky tactic to make the times you do get to actual play a game feel more special. Sneaky Ubisoft!
EDIT: So, it is a bit like GTAIV, only without the violent crimes, drug selling, and car theft and you don't get to beat up Albanians. Is it weird that this game is making me want to quit and play GTAIV?
EDIT: I just got done slowly following my mother through the city while she lectured me then accused me of having vaginas as my only outlet, and now I am carrying stuff for her! This "game" is filled with so much non-stop action it is making my head spin!

Shouldn't that be classed as an 'inlet'?
The game does get more action eventually, but it's more to do with the story and the characters.
<span style=“font-weight: bold;”>The Most Handsomest Guy on OT.com</span>
Bongo Bongo time for Bingo.
I know in theory he isn't that difficult if you know the knack but in practice knowing the knack isn't the same thing as having it.
At least you can't kill him by accident.
