Thankfully the 3DS version has these two things going for them:

Eiji Aonuma apologized for the design of the Water Temple in a 2009 interview, and, with the announcement of the Nintendo 3DS remake of Ocarina of Time, specifically mentioned that he plans on changing the gameplay in such a way to make the Water Temple less frustrating, such as making the Iron Boots easier to use.

 

That is crazy! Who does that? Remember back in the old NES days things could be as hard as hell, no one ever apologized... because they were suppose to be challenging. This is actually the first I have ever heard of the Water Temple being considered overly hard.

I played through Ocarina of Time several times, I remember the Water Temple pretty well, but don't recall ever considering it unreasonable.

Kind of disappointing to hear they are going to change the "gameplay" (guess that could mean any number of things), sounds a little bit like they are Lucasing things up (the much earlier change of Ganondorf's red blood to green comes to mind too). I mean, they were already changing the resolution, which I am fine with, but things like this make me wary.

Well, that was the point of the Master Quest, wasn't it?

For any 360 owners who are into silly things like achievements and avatar awards, try out Xbox Labs. It allows Microsoft to run network tests on your 360 in order to improve the service (or to collect all your personal information as part of their plan to take over the word!!!!!!!!1). For 6 hours of letting them dink around with your 360, you get three 0 gamer score achievements and three avatar awards. The first half hour you have to leave it running continuously, at which point you get the first achievement and avatar award. After that you could leave it running for just a few minutes at a time to contribute to your six hours. Second achievement and award are given at an hour and the last achievement and award are given after six hours. I just left mine running overnight and got all three. Also adds it as another "game" on your 100% achievement list.

Kind of pointless (lab coat avatar award is pretty cool), just figured I'd give the heads up for anyone who cares about that kind of stuff. I think it only runs until sometime around the end of this month

I will be at xhonzi's on Friday and I assume he will be embarrassing me at some form of video game at some point.

Uuuhh, if the "C*-" is referring to me... (I seriously took it as you censoring a slang word for genitalia that begins with the letter "c" at first glace)... there is a 100% chance I'll be up for it and a 90% chance I will be able to.

Dude, forget about the controller for a few days and enjoy Florida with your wife. I have a feeling you can find way better things to do there with your time than play video games.
