Hooray! Monkey Island 2 Special Edition!  I already own 2 copies of the original, but I'll gladly pay for the update.

YAY!!

Although I have to say, they would have been dicks if they hadn't done it at some point. That would have been sad to have the best game in the whole series be the only one without voice overs.

Wow, Guybrush looks way better than he did in the first SE. Huzzah!

Thank goodness.  He was way too stupid looking in MI:SE.  I really missed the semi-real paintings of the characters (the close-ups).  Here's hoping there's a little lip-synching this time.  I know the original didn't have it, but the original didn't have voice to synch to...

I really want to buy some new games, but I have all of these older games which I'm currently burning through:

Shadow Complex - DONE!
Tomb Raider Legend, Anniversary & Underworld - DONE!
Uncharted - DONE!
MGS4 - (played 2 hours of it (watched 1.5 hours of it, played .5) and DONE!)
Ghostbusters - DONE!
Riddick - Butcher Bay - DONE!
Riddick - Dark Athena - DONE!
COD4:MW - DONE!
inFamous - 30%
GRAW2 - 15%
Mass Effect - 30%
Terminator Redemption (for the old xbox! - 50%)
Mercs2 Co-op: 50%
Left 4 Dead Co-op: 50%
Left 4 Dead 2 Co-op: 0%
Gears2 Co-op 85%
LBP Co-op 30%
Burnout Paradise - 10%
Metroid Prime 3 - 50%
Reistance - 15%
Dead Space
Batman: AA
Uncharted 2

I guess it's a pretty good problem to have.  :)  But I really want to pick up Darksiders, MW2, Assassin's Creed II, Bioshock 2, Mass Effect 2, and Fallout 3: GotY.

Ghostbusters is my most recent conquest.  I actually started designing a Ghostbusters TC for Quake II 15 years ago- so I think I was the prime target for a game like this.  I thought it was pretty fun- except that I played it on the hardest setting and found it to be EXTREMELY frustrating in 3 or 4 places.  I don't use terms like "throw my controller at the screen" lightly... but I got pretty close.  I won't claim it was a great game, but I found it to be good enough.

I played Butcher Bay once before on oXbox, but wanted to play it again since I have it on 360.  It's also very punishing on hard.  I'm playing it on easy now and it's still a bit of a challenge.  I guess I just don't like sneaking games that much.

Grrr! I've been stalled on Gears2 for about 6 months.  My co-op buddy has been too responsible recently to find time to play!

I haven't played any games in a long time, but one of the last ones I bought was Quake II.

What's a TC?

Sort of like Quake 2 -> Half Life but usually on a less grand scale.

I'm actually playing Half Life right now. I got a new computer recently, and I used it to finally play Half Life 2 (which was brilliant), and I realized I never beat the first one, so I decided to go back and take another whack at it.

Oddly enough, even though I'm running it off the Game of the Year CD from around 1998 or 99 on a Windows 7 64-bit machine, I'm not having a single compatibility issue with it.

Now if they can just release Half Life 2: Episode 3 or Half Life 3 or whatever they're calling it.

I mean, I love Portal and I'm sure I'll love Portal 2... Left 4 Dead has been fun and I'm sure L4D2 is even better...

BUT WHERE IS MY HALF LIFE?!?!?!?

So is anyone here getting God of War III tomorrow? or Dragon Age Awakening?

Now we have Splinter Cell Conviction just around the corner.

My Brother-in-Law is in town and he wanted to play something online.  After spending 10 minutes trying to figure it out- it turns out you can't play Modern Warfare Split Screen and online at the same time.  :(

So, we ended up playing Halo 3 online/split screen.  (We invited C3PX, but he preferred just to listen to some tunes.  Loser.)  And we ended up on the Rocket Race Double XP playlist.  I'd never played that before and I actually really liked it.  For those who don't know, it's very reminiscent of Mario Kart Double Dash- There are 4 teams of 2 and Rocket launchers are the only weapon and you get unlimited ammo.  You race around on Mongooses (Mongeese?) where one person drives and the other shoots.  Random checkpoints appear on the map and the goal is to get there before the other teams.  If you can't get there before another team- shoot them with a rocket and see if that changes your options!

I think it's probably the most enjoyable when you're sharing a screen with your teammate- but maybe it's fun purely online too- I don't know.

Oh man, that would have been really cool. I didn't even see your invite. Wish I would have. Maybe next time. That Rocket Race thing sounds fun, I didn't even know anything like that existed.

The newbies are not use to Sean and his antics. Does anyone remember where he posted the baby seal being clubbed that got everyone offended? That was a fun thread, great candidate for the "LOL Moments" thread.

Uh yeah, so, changing the subject...

What! You own L4D and you have only played 25% of it! The campaigns are short, you could beat the whole thing in just a few hours. It really isn't one of those games meant to be played to be beaten. It is all about the multiplayer experience. I have probably beaten every map on that game 50 times, and each time it was a completely different experience depending on the difficulty level and who I was playing with. When you are playing with real people is when it really shines. L4D is really more of a social thing. If you only ever played it off line on single player, then I can't imagine it being very enjoyable at all.

If you feel like making your way through the other 75% of that game sometime, I'd be glad to join you. Could probably get one or two of my friends to join in too.

I think you know me better than to assume I don't know sean and his antics.  I obviously spend plenty of time digging through old threads, so I know all about him.  Regardless, that post touched a nerve, and it would have no matter who posted it.

Putting that aside, can you post a link to the baby seal thread in my LOL Moment thread?

EDIT: I see you already posted the link.  Thanks.

I meant that most of us have been offended by a Sean pic or comment at one point or another, and most of us have just got to the point where we ignore them. I don't blame you for being offended, it is a pretty upsetting image.
