I thought he was JUST bashing Sony by calling them Sony fanboys,if he was covering ALL then I do not have a problem, but when you single 1 out over the other then I think that is just pure bullshit,ALL systems have good and bad to them, none are perfect, that is why I got all 3.

Sky if you were indeed calling both(Microsoft and Sony) or all 3(Nintendo) having "fanboys" then I agree with you whole heartedly.

Sky said just as much in his post. He explicitly stated that all consoles have things worth owning on them.

Even after commenting on the PS3 not being worth the money, especially for someone without an HDTV, he turned around and said he'd like to play MSG4 and GOWIII.

Saying a console has fanboys isn't an insult, nor should it ever be taken as one. It just is. It is a matter of reality. They exist for everything. You have them with cars and shoes ("I only drive Ford, I only wear Nike, everything else is crap!") and ever other kind of product you can imagine.

Quick update: the filmmakers of the Zelda movie posted a new video covering their premier. I really hope to get a chance to see it soon. There is a way to vote for them to bring it to your city so if you're interested check it out.

I mentioned this in the "Phantom Menace 10 years later" discussion but it really seems like Hollywood is out of new ideas. Most movies seem to be just "meh" at best. Something needs to come along to get the movie industry going again like what Star Wars did in the 70's. So I'm especially thrilled that an independent group was able to pull something like this off. Just to finish it and make a final edited version is a huge accomplishment.

I agree Hollywood has grown rather stale. I see this movie as representing exactly what is wrong with Hollywood at the moment. Everything is an adaption or a remake of pre-existing and popular stories. Nothing is original. Not pre-judging this fan film or anything, nor making any statement on its quality, I just feel this film is continuing in the rut Hollywood is in, rather than opposing it.

I would like to see it though.

i'm looking forward to Mass Effect 2

You just reminded me of why I'm sad that I don't own an Xbox 360.  My old roommate had a 360 and the first Mass Effect.  I played a lot of it and thought it was amazing ... then he moved out, and I never got to finish it.  I'd get it for Windows, but 1) I'd have to start from scratch, and 2) I have a Mac, and I have to restart every time I want to play a Windows game.

That and the fact that it's taking forever for us PS3-owners to get Fallout 3's DLC.  I may just wait until the Game of the Year Edition comes out.  That'll solve two problems: Getting all 5 DLC packs for the same price I paid for the original game instead of shelling out $10 apiece for each one, and getting a copy of Fallout 3 for myself (I've been using the copy I bought my brother for his birthday, which I can't exactly take back to school with me).

Fallout 3 is awesome. The DLC for it is pretty fantastic two. I am not usually the kind of guy who likes to spend money on expansions, but my love for Fallout 3 runs quite deep.

But yeah, waiting for the game of the year edition would be the way to go. Besides being cheaper, it doesn't hog space on your hard drive either.

It's back?...Where was it before now?

Gone. Far away. Perhaps never to be seen or heard from again. But now it is back.

Now I just need Grim Fandango to make a comeback and my life will be complete... well not really, but it would be greatly appreciated. The realization that there are people in this world who have never played Grim Fandango from start to finish makes me feel very sad on their behalf.

That game is what made me want to become a grim reaper when I grew up, it inspired my young mind and made me who I am today. Well, actually I was pretty old when that game came out, but it sucked me in like no game had done since I was ten or so. The whole concept of that game was just brilliant. And the blending of themes was fascinating. My favorite bit was the Casablanca inspired section. I loved how you'd settle in a new area and the game would flash forward a few years. Absolutely epic!

One of my favorite characters in Grim Fandango was the bitter clown near the beginning that's blowing balloon animals:

"Can you teach me how to do that?"

Well, since you're a beginner, why don't you practice the first step?"

"Which is?"

LOL. Ah, such a great game. So many good lines. If it was an animated film I'd be a classic. Unfortunately the nature of video games are to disappear into obscurity. I am not even sure I'd have the time or patience to be able to sit down and effectively enjoy this game all the way through like I did back when it first came out.

Wish some fan would come along and make a fancy DVD of the thing in high quality. Something like this probably already exists on youtube, but with such a beautiful game, experiencing it all in youtube quality would kind of suck.

This is indeed interesting.

I never got that far in Grim Fandango but I enjoyed the flavour of it.

Well Ghostbusters is really friggin COOL!

the likenesses are well done, and the real voices are great, the controls are not to bad to learn, and graphics and sound(so far I am only starting)are fantastic.

But I want to know if anyone here has played Mass Effect?
friends of mine at work are shocked as hell that I do not have this in my collection,so I am thinking about picking it up,also see there is a part 2 coming out in January,so any comments on this game would be nice,OH and I already knoe(from my friends at work)that it is made by the same people that did KOTOR,which HAS to be a good thing.

Just started playing Ghost Busters - it's pretty awesome.  Though it kinda sucks that half the time you're standing around watching the other four guys talk to each other.  I wish you could've played as each one of them, alternating, throughout the game, instead of some random new guy who doesn't even have a name.

And the story's not terribly original.  I mean, come on, the library lady ... again?  Stay Puft ... again?  The hotel with Slimer ... again?  Often with the same jokes reused in these sections?  It's fun in videogame form, but it's certainly not Ghost Busters III like it was advertised (at least to me).

And DJ, Mass Effect is insanely amazing.  It's the one game that makes me wish I had a 360, just so I could finish it and play the sequels.  I highly recommend it.  Though after playing it, you'll hate the way every other RPG does dialogue.  It's such an innovative and intuitive conversation system, that it makes every other RPG (including KOTOR) look boring and unpolished (at least in the dialogue aspect).

I'm too poor to get a console every two minutes but I've got so many games on my Gamecube and PSone that I've never got around to playing that it doesn't bother me.

I'm currently (when I have the time) trying my best to play the Devilish Eternal Darkness, a great story and really inventive but also really frustrating at times.

The game can throw a really tricky moment at you at the beginning of a level which can lead to having to sit through the loading screen and a cut scene over and over again while you try to get passed it (why can't they let you skip that?).

Jedi Outcast was the last game I finished and that was fun but I managed to complete the final level without knowing how I actually did it, which is sort of the other end of the spectrum.

Game designers need to remember that most people play games in fits and starts so there should be a bit of a learning curve to each level as well as in the game as a whole and the end should be only accomplished with skill, there is nothing worse than spending ages going through a game only to have a blink and miss it conclusion caused by a slip of the fingers.

I am on my way to Best Buy right now damnit, now I have to have it(Mass Effect),and I have a $5 coupon to LOL so it will only be $15 plus tax.

also ChainsawAsh did you have any problems redeeming your exclusive code for the Ghostbusters game?
I can't get mine to work and evidently noone can.

OH and by the way,I agree with your gripes, but damn it is still pretty fun,and very cool.

What exclusive code would that be?  And is it 360-exclusive, or would it work on a PS3 as well?

Not sure if the PS3 got one,but I am pretty sure they did,but Best Buy and Gamestop had exclusive redeemable codes that came with the game,I bought the 360 version and it has the flight suit code from Ghostbusters 2,but none are working,I was wondering if you got your code to work.

and I have Mass Effect now, going to give it a go later on.

I hope you enjoy it - Mass Effect can be very challenging, but the world is so rich and just so damned interesting that I'm sure you'll love it.  All the planets you can visit ... but that rover can be either the most fun thing you'll ever drive or the bane of your existence.  Depending on what's going on around you at the time.

And I didn't get my copy of Ghost Busters at either Gamestop or Best Buy, unfortunately.  I'll do some Googling to see about a PS3 code.

Gamestop just called me and said there is an issue with ALL codes, should be fixed in a day or two.

I think it's because 360 Marketplace is down. Damn fun game and can't wait to try out multi-player. Got the T-Shirt, code in the case and the $10 movie thing yesterday.

Is it me or does it seem like the Vigo painting is voiced by Max von Sydow?

I got the "Realistic" version shirt. Are there two versions? One Realistic and one Stylised? Oh, I'm in the cemetary right now.
