Hypersensitive? lol. Not sure how I am coming off as being sensitive. Dealing with a bit of projection are we? Still not sure what spoilers I gave that ruffled your feathers, but I honestly am sorry for spoiling something for you, and for anyone else who stumbled across my post and felt spoiled.

Well, I've never played Fallout 3, but now I can contribute to this thread for the first time in a while.

C3PX:  kthxbye= 'K (for okay), thanks, and bye (as in goodbye).

Yay, I've been educational!

Yay, I have been educated in the dumbing down of the English language! And strangely I now feel smarter somehow. Of course I am not one to talk, having used the term "lol" in my previous post, something I used to refuse to do but for some reason have let it slide lately. Just so long as I don't sink to the level of using single letters to represent whole words (R U OK? Wht R U doing tmrw?), can't stand that!

Some people apparently never passed their high-school typing class.

In other news, World of Goo for the Wii, PC, and Mac is awesome. If you like puzzle games and have fifteen spare bucks, get it.

Another really great puzzle game that'll only set you back fifteen bucks is Braid on Xbox Live. Sometime this year the PC port is suppose to come out. At times the puzzle solutions are so far out there it'll make your head hurt.

Yeah, I have to say I felt a little embarrassed explaining that because it made it look like I might actually type that way... =P

...Oh, only the rare emoticons here and there!

And on topic:  I'm playing Kingdom Hearts right now!  I haven't played it in four years, and I'm doing expert mode now... but for some reason, it seems easier than what I played before!  Case in point, I just beat Riku in Hollow Bastion:  in one try!  When I played before, I had to sit through that pre-fight cinema so many times that it's imprinted in my brain!  And today I just mopped the floor with him on the first try!  Have I really gotten that much better?  Or is expert mode actually easier than normal mode?  And I haven't done any power leveling either.  In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if I was at a lower level than I was before.

Crazy, man!

So is anyone here downloading the PS3 Resident Evil 5 Demo? I am about 10% away,I can't wait to compare this to the Xbox 360's version, then I can see for myself if there is any visual difference, plus see if there is any differences in the gameplay, mainly because it seems the 360's controller is a little more comfortable,at least for me.

Also curious why the size difference, the Xbox 360's demo was like 480 MB's and the PS3's is 942 MB's.

Maybe hte PS3 version has higher resolution textures or something.

I got it when it first came out, but I thought the controls on the 360 version were a bit stiff. It makes trying to actually beat the demo levels harder than it should be.

yea it is definitely going to take time getting used to the controls, especially after playing and beating Dead Space,I am so used to being able to manuever and run while shooting, you can't do that in RE5,this is a pretty big let down, but I guess none of them would let you shoot and move,so I just have to get used to it again.

for me anyways it is hard to tell the difference in pic quality, they pretty much look identical,so I have no idea why the size difference.

Actually, I haven't tried this myself, but I was reading somewhere that one of the improvements of RE5 over RE4 was going to be that you could move and shoot at once. This obviously wasn't the case with the demo, maybe by default the controls are set to the traditional RE4 style. I have been meaning to check the demo to see if there was an option to change them, because I have heard from multiple places that this was suppose to be the case.

The file size difference may just have something to do with the different file systems of the two consoles.

Damn I will have to fire it back up again and see if there is any settings to change this,it sure would be cool to be able to maneuver and shoot or slash with your knife, and you are probably right about the file size differences.

dark_jedi, are you getting the limited edition of this? Anybody else considering getting the limited edition? I was considering it, but at $90 it seems freaking expensive, the figurine and book are cool, but I could care less about the messenger bag and I actually really like the regular edition's box art over the limited's. The making of DVD is kind of a watch once sort of thing anyway, and those things always manage to make their way onto youtube.

Game-fanatix.com has an offer where if you reserve the regular edition at $59.99 (regular price) plus shipping you get a 10th anniversary Resident Evil figure (either Chris, Jill, or a zombie with a zombie dog). The figures haven't been in preduction for quite a while now, and seem to go for close to thirty bucks on ebay. This seems like a pretty good alternative to getting the limited edition while still getting while still getting some cool bonus with the game. Only problem is they say it won't even ship until the 14th, and the game will be in stores on the 13th. I'd be hard to wait a few extra days to get the game while everybody else will be close to beating it by then.

Yes I am getting the Limited Edition Game and the Limited Edition Guide,it has some extra stuff to,like a RE calendar.

Personally, I'm not terribly impressed by the RE5 demo. The controls are just too clunky.

Really? Plays just like RE4 to me.

I did go back to the demo and try the different control styles, and it seems none of them allow you to walk and shoot at the same time. Could have sworn I read something about being able to in this one. Guess not.

A cool game called Flower was released for the PSN today where you control the wind collecting flowers. It is unique and really fun.

My PSN ID is thirdkind.

Anybody pick up Street Fighter IV? One of the best fighters I've played in a long time. Feels a lot like the Alpha series. Playing with the DualShock sucks though. Need a stick.

This year is moving along, almost March already! So I guess it is kind of late in the year for this, but I was wondering what everyones top games of '08 were.

I was thinking about this the other day, and I'd have to say the absolute best game released in 2008 that I played was Braid, with the runners up being Fallout 3 and Left 4 Dead.

On the surface, Braid doesn't look like anything new or unique. But it doesn't take too much play time to see through its cheery Super Mario Word-knock-off-ish exterior, and realize that this game is one of those rare gems that surface from indy developers every now and then. The great thing about this game is that nothing like it has been done before, or at least not that I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. The puzzle aspect of the game is great fun. Sometimes the puzzles are so brilliantly designed, they'll make your head hurt. Trying to force your brain to think in such an unnatural way as to solve some of the time bending puzzles will drive you nuts, but you'll feel great once you figure it out. More than just being a nonlinear puzzle game, this game has an interesting storyline, which is also delivered in a nonlinear fashion, and likely even after you get to the end of the game and solve every puzzle, you'll find making sense of the story a whole new puzzle in itself, especially if you didn't take the time to read the seemingly unimportant bits of story between worlds.

Even though Braid is a very simple game, short, and featuring graphics that haven't been around since I was in middle school, it really managed do new things and work in a very unique way. Definitely my game of the year.

I'm torn. I have 2500 MS points, which is 200 less than what I need to get both Braid and GTA: The Lost and the Damned.

And money's kind of tight right now, so I don't wanna buy more.

If you are dying for more GTA, then I'd say go for The Lost and the Damned. If you are interested in a unique gameplay experience, then I'd highly recommend Braid.

Not sure how much play time you get with The Lost and the Damned, but Braid runs pretty short, and once you already know how to solve every puzzle, there is not a whole lot of replay value there. There is a speed run achievement which sounds incredibly challenging, and there are hidden stars throughout the game which from what I have read online are rather difficult to get. So I guess if you are into those kinds of things, then you could squeeze several more hours out of the game.

all I can say is that I totally fucking LOVE this game, this kicks some serious ASS!

Finally bought it today. Only played it for a couple of hours so far, but yeah, it is pretty freaken awesome! Can't wait until one of my 360 owning friends finally gets a copy of this so we can do the co-op. I am sure that will be pretty cool, and will add some lasting value to the game.

Working my way through Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader on the GameCube. Why haven't we had any SW games of this quality in the current gen? I guess this gen hasn't really had any Star Wars games to speak of beyond FU, so fair enough.

While shooting Tie Fighters last night, I realized how cool it would be if they made a Rogue Squadron V where you play as the Empire. I'd be pretty cool to play those classic battles from the Imperial perspective, such as the Battle of Yavin, the Hoth escape (or in this case attack), and the Battle of Endor. Wish they'd do something like this.

Now that I am so used to my 360's wireless controller, switching back to the good ol' GameCube, I can't help but wonder, why the hell did Nintendo made the cords so damn short! Even my NES, SNES, and N64 cords are longer! I cannot even imagine what might have possibly possessed them to make the thing as sort as it is. I have to sit on the floor a foot infront of my couch in order the play the thing. Really need to get me grubbies on a Wavebird. Just doesn't feel worth it to me to pay such a high price for a used controller on an outdated system.
