SUCCESS!! Got the Wi-Fi connect working. For some reason my USB drivers got corrupted. Did a reinstall and voila! Playing Mario Kart Racing 64 right now. Cool game. I'll probably download SM64 tonight as well. I love this console!

For some reason, my GameCube is sitting next to me while I type this, and it's gotten me to thinking. From the mid-'90s until Wii, Nintendo has been all about brightly-colored systems. First it was the "Play It Loud" collection of Game Boys, and then the biggie was the multiple colors of N64 besides the original dark gray. But it was only with GameCube that colorful console systems (as opposed to gray or black or whatever neutral color) became the norm for them. In fact, I own the "standard" indigo-colored GameCube along with an indigo contoller and a black Mad Katz controller I just got the other day (after four years, I just now get a second controller for it... for shame). Anyway, to get to the point, I was just wondering what color GCNs were in abundance here.

Black all the way.

In fact, I've had a black Gamecube since Christmas 2001, and sometimes I forget that the 'official' color of the system was purple.

In Japan there was a "Spice", or orange-colored, one. The U.S. only got orange controllers.

Wow, when I wrote my post, I was wondering what responses I would get, but I knew that you were going to say exactly that (except for when you got your GameCube).

Ah, I figured you took me for a launch day adopter. (Though considering that I wasn't yet 14 on the GC's launch day, probably not.)

Don't tell me there's a law where you come from that says you have to be 14 to buy a game console. ^_~

But I admit I got mine far from the launch date. It was Spring Break '03. I'd actually broken away from Nintendo for the first time due to the backlash of the cel-shaded graphics of Wind Waker. So I got a PS2 instead, my first (and only) non-Nintendo system. But then when I got my head out of my ass and realized how good Wind Waker was starting to look, I got a GameCube just in time to preorder WW. And my GameCube came with Mario Sunshine to boot! Sadly, I lost the Memory Card 59 that came with it during my freshman year of college. Don't know what happened to that sucker, but it still pisses me off.

I would think so. Many people I know who are not gamers are interested in the Wii. I can't remember being so into console gaming since my original NES. What a great time to get back in.

I remember I bought two boxes. I ate the first box in about 3 days and kept the other one. Damn good cereal. The ROTS cereal was crap in comparison.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

I was playing Twlight Princess. Minding my own business. I'd done about thirty minutes worth of busy work--collecting some rupees in order to afford the Magic Armor, finding a piece of heart. I don't want to head to the final dungeon until Friday, so I was going to prepare for the Cave of Ordeals and maybe try and finish it tomorrow.

Then, randomly, with no warning, my mom's maid comes up and UN PLUNGS THE WII. I hadn't saved, so I lost everything. And then, she stands there and LAUGHS ABOUT IT, saying she meant to un plug something else. I felt like kicking the friggin' chair across the room....

I told her it was nothing to laugh about and expressed the fact I wanted to throw the Wiimote across the room. She apologized... then continued laughing. It took the greater portion of my restraint not to kick the chair down.

Looks like Sony might be losing more PS3 exclusives. While it still has Metal Gear Solid 4 and Final Fantasy XIII, Capcom is going to release Devil May Cry 4 on the 360 and the PS3.

DMC4 Not Exclusive

It's a bold move, IMHO, but not a big surprise. Capcom has had great success with Microsoft recently, with Dead Rising and Lost Planet being two of the handful of games that have been met with success in the tricky Japanese market. It will be weird to have the fourth installment of a game franchise on a system which hasn't had any of the other games in the series, but here's hoping they get ported over as a compilation title or something.

Things are definately heating up for the 360 (no pun intended), with this news and other great titles set to release. In case you guys didn't hear, Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night is up for download tomorrow. Have at you!

Thanks for the heads up! Did you mean DMC4 will also be coming to the Wii, in your first paragraph? Or am I reading it wrong?
