I've been using the official Nintendo brand USB Wi-Fi connector with no troubles, other than the fact that my Firewall has to be disabled for it to work.

Did you need to configure it when you plugged it in? For example, I understand it supports WEP encryption (CRAP), so did you configure it with keys, etc?

It comes with a shiny blue installation CD. Just install the driver and plug it in. (That's the Nintendo version, I don't know how the one that works for Nintendo and the PSP works.)

Have you actually read the original comics? They rawk.

Yeah, don't diss Hellboy if you have not read the original comics. If you are judging it based on the movie alone then I shall have to slap you.

Huhhhh please!

Define "original comics".

Also, I don't think you have too much to worry about with people piggybacking off of you. I don't think the range is significant enough to be a problem, unless you live in an apartment or dorm or something.

It's a quick, easy solution, and the Wii/DS is already configured to connect to it, so I'm 100% happy with it.

Also, downloading games is a cinch - N64 games took about 2 minutes, SNES 1 minute and NES games less than 30 sec.

I actually liked the movie a lot. It wasn't like your ordinary, generic comic-book adaptation. It had its weaknesses of course, but the characters were great and it had a fun story.

I agree, but I think he was saying that even though it was pretty good, the movie lacked some of the punch of the comics.

I can't tell you how impressed I am with how well the Wii is designed. It's like the Mac of consoles. It may not have the most market share, but everything is so intuitive it's like how you'd expect it to work. Picked up my wireless router no problem though I haven't configured it yet.

Played Wii-Sports with the kiddies and my wife last night. Very fun. Nice that they included something that would get you used to the Wii-mote. Picked up WarioWare Smooth Moves as well though we haven't played it yet. I will look around for one more title this weekend and also delve into the VC to see what I can get there.

On another note I played RE4 for the first time last night. Anyone find that game is very...disorienting? I had to stop a few times because I was feeling slight motion sickness. The game is top notch, though very disturbing. Picked it up for $15 so it was a bargain.

Hm? I never really had any trouble with motion sickness playing RE4. My only 'problem' is the heart attacks it gave me occasinally.

Uhhh, yeah. I fired it up around 4am this morning (I usually don't sleep through the night) and played in the dark. Wow. What atmosphere...emphasis on FEAR. I played the original RE on PC and RE2 on the PS1...not even close to this thing man. This weekend's pretty much going to be a gaming-thon for me. I want to have made serious Wind Waker and SMSS progress by the time it's over.

Chalts, do you think because TWLP was a launch title that they will come up with another Zelda game within the Wii's lifetime? I've heard about Phantom Hourglass for the DS and am looking forward to that one as well...

I tried the new sonic game for about 30 minutes yesterday and I am impressed with it.

I'm looking forward to trying that out, but my local video store doesn't rent Wii games yet.

From what I've heard, Zelda Wii is already in development. Remember that Twilight Princess is technically Gamecube Zelda 2 and was only ported to the Wii to boost that system's early sell-out rate. There may be two more Zelda games on the Wii before it's over.

Oh hell yes, RE4 has so many pants shitting moments it's amazing. The first time I played through it and that crazy ass bastard with the chainsaw and sack over his head rushed the house I thought I was going to have a stroke.

Congrats on the Wii find, and I think you might want to re-evaulate your earlier comment on the Wii's market share. All reports thus far have indicated that the Wii is outselling both the PS3 and 360 combined - which is awesome.

If I may chime in on another of your points, you've aluded to the fact that Nintendo's track record with their first party titles isn't exactly...expedient.

Two things come to mind when thinking about Zelda. With the exception of the SNES (and perhaps DS - although Tingle is getting his own spinoff), every Nintendo system has had at least two Zelda games. NES had the original two, N64 had OOT and MM (albeit late in the consoles' life cycle), Gamecube had WW, 4SA and TP (again, late in the console's life cycle) so I'd be willing to bet that we'll see another Zelda game on the Wii.

However, based on their track record, I think it will be another 3 years before we see it - maybe even 2 years before we get news of development. I'd love to see a new Zelda that implements DS/Wii functionality.

I did know it was outselling the PS3 handily...I did not know it was THAT big though. This is good to hear.

I've got quite a ways to go in catching up on these games. I was just wondering what the future of the franchise looks like. I can't wait to get up to speed.

I hope Nintendo starts putting out Game Boy Color games on the Virtual Console system, because the Zelda Oracle duo are games any Zelda fan would be crazy not to download.

Has anyone else heard that Solid Snake is making an appearance in SSBB? I caught the tail end of a report on X-Play...

You skipped the SNES, which was long lived and a very popular system only had one Zelda games, also the original Gameboy only had one (if you consider the GB and the GB Color to be two separate systems as I do). I must also say that the quality of the franchise is less when the quantity is more. Majora's Mask felt like a rushed work in order to cash in on the excitement of OoT.

EDIT: Oops, I didn't see the with the exception of the SNES part when I first read your post.

I can buy that...I'd rather see 2 good games than 3 mediocre ones. Quality should always be top priority.

One thing I like is replayability. I hate it when I play through a game once and then there's really nothing big about doing it again. This is why I enjoy the GTA Vice City game. Nice, wide open environment that I can play around in at will.

Now that would be a treat.

I would much rather see a new Nintendo handheld which features an internal flash drive that you could use to communicate with the Wii - complete with a new 'Gameboy' section for the old classics which could be then transferred to the DS2 or whatever the hell it's going to be called...Since Mii is already taken

Wait, wait.... Whazzat?!

Majora's Mask is one of the best in the series, though for very different reasons. There are only four dungeons, but they're all very good, and Majora's Mask comes closer than any other game in history to feeling like a real living, breathing world. How the heck did it feel like a rushed work?

^ Especially since they took their time getting it out there.

Perhaps it's the re-used character models and music? I thought they worked well within the context of the game's parallel universe.

So guys, I was just looking on Nintendo's Japanese website for the heck of it, and look what I found in the virtual console section:

Any guesses what might be coming down the pipeline?
