No doubt about it, the lineup is awesome.

I take it you have never experienced Ocarina of Time then either? Perhaps that game isn't as great as we all make it out to be, but for those of us who had played the Zelda games from the beginning this was long awaited and the first time we got to see our much visited world of Hyrule in 3D. It was amazing.

BITE YOUR TONGUE!

Ocarina is as close to gaming perfection as we'll ever get - it's every bit as good as we make it out to be!

I never did play Ocarina. I must confess, I purchased Wind Waker for GC and found it to be not so great. The camera controls were AWFUL and some of the movement frustrated me so I bailed early on. I'm looking forward to going backwards and starting from Link to the Past and making my way through the rest of what I can get my hands on up to and including TWLP. Part of my problem is that when I left my NES behind, I moved to Genesis, followed by a pc and never looked back, going through shooters and sports games almost exclusively. I'm hoping that the solid game play with the older Zelda titles will make up for the "arcane" look relative to the newer titles.

I believe that Zelda is, without question, one of the greatest games I've ever played and the success of the franchise is not in doubt. My personal favorite has always been SMB, though. I played that game for months on end and fell in love with it. I played SMB2 for a while but eventually put it aside. I got a DS last year and New SMB with it and was absolutely addicted to it. I'm VERY much looking forward to some of the classic SMB games, like SMW and SMB64.

I'm so damn excited I can't wait!

Anyone think there'd be a market for a Zelda MMPORPG?

WHAT!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Go back! Give it another chance! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!?

How are the camera controls awful? O_O ?? TWW has the same camera controls as GC Twilight Princess and Ocarina doesn't have any controls but centering with Z.

Not a 3D Zelda game, no... A 2D Zelda MMORPG? Yes! A 3D game wouldn't work online because of the puzzle focus, but a 2D game could.

I have thought about it. Maybe I'll visit it this weekend.

I hate, read: HATE floating over-the-shoulder cameras! You ALWAYS have to re-center with the damn things. Give me first person or a locked over the shoulder cam and I'd be happy.

You think 3-d and puzzle-oriented are mutually exclusive? I don't know. The Lara Croft series has been pretty successful at it. I just don't think Nintendo is too keen on that market.

Would you please elaborate on this? Was there a press release? How exactly did the NGC era die?

I just went to Kotaku to post the answer to your question, when I saw this:

OCARINA OF TIME ON THE WII THIS MONDAY!!!!

OK, now that I've cleaned myself up, Nintendo has apparently ceased production on the GameCube and any future (First Party) GameCube titles. Shouldn't be a big shock, but the report is in dispute, as seen here:

The Reports Of The GameCube's Death Are Greatly Exaggerated...

It was reported on AOTS last night that Nintendo announced the end of GC production both in actual hardware and titles. I looked for news of this on the Nintendo site with no luck.

It's interesting to think that production might be over considering that production of the Famicom and Super Famicom didn't end until 2003, I believe!

It is hard to figure. Perhaps they want to shift those resources to Wii production?

Zelda in first person? Or locked? That would be nearly impossible to play. And how hard is it to press the L button to re-center the camera?

The point is that with every move I make the camera moves as well. No, it's not hard to re-center but it becomes an annoyance when I have to do it every 10 seconds.

I actually prefer manually moving the camera. With the exception of FPS's I've never played a 3rd person 3D game where automatic camera adjustment worked.

Two of the biggst offenders are gaming classics - Tomb Raider and Ninja Gaiden. Two very different games, with very shitty cameras.

I can only think of one decent Gamecube game with a persistent over-the-shoulder locked camera--Resident Evil Four.

Even Super Mario Sunshine has a manual floating camera.

Sadly I hate that one too. SMSS is another one that's mediocre in my book. RE4 is a sweet game that I really need to get.

Yeah, come to think of it the camera in RE4 was nothing short of brilliant. Capcom used the camera to heighten tension by limiting your field of view...there were so many "did I just see that?" moments in that game. Can't wait for RE5.

OH man,RE4,god damn that is a good movie,I mean game, hell now that I beat Twilight Princess,I might beat the PS2 version of RE4,already beat the GC version.

two ps3 games I can't wait for to be released:

Final Fantasy XIII

Metal Gear Solid IV: GUNS of The Patriots.

I will also soon be picking up a copy of final fantasy VI advance, cannot wait to play this classic.

I have a funny feeling Sony's outlook for the PS3 will look a lot brighter once those titles are released.

Not having a PS3 (only a Wii & 360) how does the online store work? Is it cool? Lots of old titles for download? I am curious about it.

O_O... Jedi, dude... you're killing me here. Sunshine was certainly no classic, but to call it 'mediocre'?... Just wow...

As for Resident Evil V, I'm holding out hope that Capcom will announce it for the 360 as well. It's probably a long shot--yet I simply cannot afford to support games and accessories for five consoles and three hand-helds. Heck, I can't support what I've got! My mom gave me Call of Duty 3 for Christmas and that's still the ONLY X-Box 360 game I own.

Don't worry. REV was never going to be an exclusive, Capcom has stated that it is not economically viable to have a AAA title like REV exclusive to one system - especially considering skyrocketing development costs.

Based on the success they've had with Dead Rising and Lost Planet, I'd say REV on the 360 is a sure thing.
