Vice City rules. I love that game.

I never got that far in it story or mission-wise, honestly. It was the '80s style that kept me coming back for more.

Rumors on this here internet say that Toys'r'us is supposed to be selling Wiis and DS Lites on Thursday. While I'm not holding my breath, I'm definitely going to check it out.

The big February Nintendo Blitz is going down this Saturday at Toys'R'Us in Canada, and apparently Sunday in the States.

Don't take my word for it, but I was told this by a very informed TRU employee yesterday. He knew numbers, stock information...everything. I'm definately "camping" out. He said the last blitz saw people there about 4 AM, so I don't think it's necessary to be there any earlier than that, but I still have that feeling in my stomach that says "Go earlier..."

I'm so pre-ordering next time...The PSP had so much buzz that I camped out for it for 5 hours, and then I was one of 4 people with 45 units to choose from.

The 360 I camped out for in -35 degree weather from 12AM till 9AM...I'm still kicking myself for not camping for the Wii at launch. This stime, she will be mine, oh yes, she will be mine.

OT Chaltab, when is the best time usually to catch you online for some Mario Kart DS? I always check and you're never on, it seems.

Just got Gundam battle royale and Gundam Tactics for PSP. Very good games, very good---once you get past the language barrier.

Have you seen Dark Alex's new homebrew firmware? I swear, the PSP in the right hands could be a hell of a great handheld system - as it is the PSP is plagued by constant firmware revisions designed to thwart the very people who are making it "cool."

If Sony would just embrace the homebew crowd, they could appeal to such a broader audience and maybe even tap into some of Nintendo's market share.

I was thinking of getting LOZ: TP for the Game Cube as I just can't seem to get the Wii. Is there a MAJOR difference in the two? Will I regret not waiting for the Wii version?

Wii Advantages:

-16:9 Widescreen if your TV supports it.
-Wii Pointer aiming.
-Whichever lesser form of HD the Wii supports.

Gamecube Advantages:

-The world isn't flipped (and therefore consistent with the one in Ocarina.)
-Full camera controls.
-Ability to quickly dismount Epona.
-You don't have to have a Wii to play it.

Thx Chalts.

I have only standard tv right now, and the Wii is just showing no signs of being widely available right now (I think it will be about 6 months at this rate!) and EVERYONE's talking about TP it's making it hard to resist.

Do you know, having been an original Zelda fan, I JUST GOT your old avatar "Where the force meets the tri-force"? How pathetic is that? Duh!

On a side note, did anyone catch X-Play: The Musical last night? Thought it was amusing and rather well done.

Please...don't get me going on this

I LOVE X-Play and AOTS, but the rest of that channel's programming blows. I can imagine the programming department when it became G4 - "Now, I think we should try to become a channel of 16-25 year-old male demographics. God knows there aren't any of THOSE out there".

It's truly amazing to me when I see previews of shows like The Bloc what the youth of this country are concerned with...snowboarding and drinking, without even a thought of getting a job and moving out of mom and dad's until they hit 30.

G4 is a mess, no doubt. I find it almost unfathomable that Adam and Morgan haven't gone elsewhere considering that all their old Tech-TV co-workers have been terminated, but I don't want X-Play to go away any time soon.

Wow. I didn't know about any of this (never having had the network before) until you guys said something. So I researched it on Wikipedia, and I am simply appalled. A perfectly good video game network going the route of the generic "manly man" network. I knew that they were airing those Star Trek SEs on G4, but I figured that was the only non-gaming show they had, and that it tied in well enough to the geek subculture who would be watching the network in the first place.

Well, not only that; G4 was never really a good gaming network. They always came across as lameish wannabes. Tech TV wasn't an actual gaming network, but their game-dedicated show X-Play creamed G4's judgement day. The buy-out caused all of G4's crappy programming to replace Tech-TV's good programming; then G4 replaced their own crappy programming with even crappier generic programming (Star Trek excluded, of course.)

X-Play, Adam, and Morgan are safe for now, though. Even G4 realizes that X-Play is the primary reason their network is still even on the air. (Honestly, who watches TV to hear Kevin Pereira talk about porn conventions?)

So, I bought Wario-Ware: Smooth Moves for the Nintendo Wii, an I must say it is definitely a must play for the Wii enthusiast. It's innovative use of the Wii-mote is amazing and fun. Although you can beat the game in little over an hour, extra "random" modes make it's lasting appeal very high. I would definitely rate this game at least an 8/10 whether it's your first Wario-Ware game or not.

Zelda II is the coolest game to beat, but only because hardly anyone has done so. Once you beat it you feel like you can do anything. It is actually not a bad game, as far as NES games go I would rate it very highly. I think the reason most people do not like it is because it is so hard and they can't get anywhere. It is not until further into the game and start learning spells that it becomes really fun. Super Mario Bros. 2 was once one of my favorite games. It is another one that it seems like very few people play all the way through. Compared to the other Mario games it is a nice change of pace (mostly because it was not originally a Mario game).

I beat Minish Cap on Saturday. I couldn't believe it was so short. I thought it would be like Link's Awakening and throw another chunk of dungeons at me after I beat the first four. Instead it ended up only have five dungeon and then the final. The fight with Vaati at the end was very stupid, he doesn't even try to kill you I beat him the last two times with less than half my hearts and on my first try. Over all the game was really fun, but too easy and too short. I really enjoyed the graphics, really reminded me of the good ol' SNES days. I think it is a good starter game for introducing a younger generation to the series.

You beat Vaati on your first try? Wow. And Zelda 2---That's one hard game. Well, the fact that it is hard doesnt' really bother me. I just hate that if you die, you have to start back at the Ancient Zelda shrine. So frikkin' stupid. I'd love to see a Metroid: Zero Mission style remake, that's still difficult, but still uses modern design principles.

Current video game status:

Twilight Princess: In the Fishing Hole post-Arbiter's Grounds
God of War: At the Ares boss fight
Oracle of Seasons: Just finished dungeon five
Phoenix Wright 2: Finished it Sunday
Castlevania IV (VCS): Level Four
Bomberman 93 (VCS): Level B-6

Grr, you ain't just whistlin' Dixie when you say that Zelda II is hard. I still can't beat the second palace. I got the handy glove and have explored every room, but I can't "get there from here" as the saying goes.

And, at this very moment, I have The Legend of Zelda on pause. I'm at Ganon with two hearts, no water of life, and missing the red ring. At least I have the silver arrows, but I'm afraid to unpause the game because of how raped up the ass I feel at the moment. Any tips to miraculously pull through this final battle?
