I think I'm about 11 hours into it, and I'm through the first two dungeons. I've put it down for a few days, though. I need to get back into it.

I'm only a couple of minutes from ending the game, but I'll wait 'till I can go to my parents place and play there. Widescreen HDTV. Gotta see the ending of the game on that.

Even though I absolutely LOVE Twilight Princess, and definitely believe it to be a worthy transition to the series, there is one thing that I have a problem with, and that is the sound effects. Even though they changed the graphics to be more realistic, they kept the same sound scheme from Wind Waker, and they don't match up. Even though I see Ocarina of Time, I hear Wind Waker, and they just don't click (especially with things like the little jingle whenever you open a chest and find Rupees, etc.)

That's pretty much the only problem I have with the game (other than the fact that I think the puzzle with the two statues before you get the Master Sword is one of the stupidest puzzles in video game history!)

That might be why I feel like the game doesn't feel totally like Zelda. It's got many Zelda elements, but I feel like something's missing so far. Maybe it's just me, though. I'm only just now entering the Goron Mines.

I want to play that game very badly. Last Zelda game I played was Majora's Mask, since then it seems like they have been plopping out a new one every six months, but not having a GameCube or a Gameboy Advance, I have not paid any attention to them. This is the first one that has struck me as interesting, and it has done it to such a huge degree that I want to run out an buy a used GameCube and grab the GameCube version. Anybody know if there are anymore severe changes between the GC and the Wii versions other than the flipped map and the lack of Wiimote on the GC? I have noticed that the GC version seems harder to find and cost about ten dollars more.

Alrighty, finished Zelda, took me 46 hours, with a bit of exploring and 4 extra hearts (beyond the regular ones you can get beating the bosses).

Twilight Princess is causing a backlash with fans? Tell me more about this, because I haven't heard any fans complain about it. What do they think is wrong with it? And I thought Wind Waker's early leaks caused fan backlash.

I'm not sure how you're saying it doesn't feel like Zelda. Most reviews I've read complain it's too much like Ocarina of Time! But I think TP is the first 3-D Zelda game to really look epic rather than just try to look epic.

Well, I've been skimming over the actual reasons for the backlash since it includes spoilers, but generally the complaint I've heard most was that it's essentially a giant Ocarina of Time Fanservice with too little exploration. Another site said that it probably had the best storyline of any Zelda game, but the storytelling was horrible.

(I'm not going to touch any of that until I finish the game, though.)

And the Wind Waker backlash was primarily because of the graphics. Once people got passed (or wrote the game off for) the way it looked, Wind Waker was generally well-liked. Largely because it has the best climax of any game in the series.

ALL the Zelda games are awesome,I dont believe there is any bad press or any negativity on TP,if you play it and get used to the Wii controls(which does take a little bit)it is DAMN AWESOME,I have 40+ hours into it now, and I think it is very cool,it sure has some hard spots at times, but hell we dont want these games to be too easy LOL

I'm pretty much saying the same thing you are. Wind Waker's graphics turned me off to the game, and it's what caused me to get a PS2 instead of a GameCube. Then, when I learned more about it, Wind Waker ended up being what convinced me to get a GameCube. I don't think it's the best Zelda ever, but it certainly is great. And I actually disagree with the complaints that the sailing is monotonous. I suppose it gets tiring after a while, but I actually loved it. Traveling for several minutes at a time in between locations made the world feel really big for the first time. Rather than OoT's miniscule Hyrule Field, I actually felt like I was on a real journey. I haven't explored all of Twilight Princess yet, but it's starting to give me that feeling, too. It may not be nearly as big as Wind Waker's world, but it's able to give a similar feeling with actual land rather than just endless identical water.

That's good to know, since so far it's felt a bit too easy to me. Granted I only just finished Goron Mines. Bring on the challenege! I've not played a truly difficult Zelda game since Oracle of Ages. (The final battle vs Vaati in The Minish Cap not withstanding.)

Okay. I do have one complaint about this game now: why in all the blue blazes is Hyrule Castle Town shown from a fixed perspective... again?! I thought we left that garbage behind in OoT! At least it's not pre-rendered like the Market in that game, but it pisses me off not having the same kind of freedom you have in the rest of the game. At least the perspective they gave you in OoT allowed you to see sky! But with Twilight Princess's camera, the whole thing feels very claustrophobic. What the hell were they thinking?!

Has anyone beaten the Cave of Ordeals yet? I got through it first try, but just barely. I only had half a heart container left.

Just make sure you've got Great Fairy Tears, at least one fairy, at least 600 Rupees, the Magic Armor, the huge quiver that you get from the STAR game, loads of bombs, and you've gotten the double Clawshot.

Just a little warning, the final chamber has 3 Iron Knuckles.

how in the hell do you do the STAR mini game,I have the clawshot and cant figure it out LOL
also where is the double clawshot?
TIA

You get the Double Clawshot in the City in the Sky level. Once you get that, the STAR minigame is a breeze, because you can just attach to the grating and bounce back and forth across the cage.

Yes, that bothered me as well. Looks like they rushed in that map, as maybe 50% of the city (the part on the camera's side) dosen't exist. You can climb on a towers there, where Gorons sell stuff, and see the plaza from the opposite side, but it's another set of graphics (you cannot equip the hawk vision thing there, I guess that would show how fake that map below is).

The first STAR game is quite easy to be done with the single clawshot. For the second one, you gotta have the double clawshot.

The saddest part is: I've finished the game without being able to fish anything with the non-sinkable rod at the pond. The fish escaped every time!

I got about 30 poes. I was so pissed when I returned 20 and the guy just gave me a freaking bottle with fairy tears or something in it! After that I didn't care anymore.
