VGA on Spike tonight.  They announced Force Unleashed 2, Batman Arkham Asylum 2, Green Day Rock Band, Tron Evolution, Prince of Persia: Forgotten Sands.

I haven't played Batman AA yet, but it's nice they're working on a sequel.  And this may be an unpopular opinion, but I am very excited for Force Unleashed 2.  I thoroughly enjoyed the first.  As long as they don't screw it up.  ;)

What would the point of a force unleashed 2 be?

Starkiller is dead and the Rebellion has begun.  There is no story.  Unless it is in the infinities universe as the ultimate sith extra levels.

I mean it would be nice to see Juno Eclipse again but the next story would be star wars a new hope followed by the other 2 films.

We already saw Vader's secret apprentice.  What are they going to just rehash the first game with another apprentice?

I mean unless the sequel is set after return of the jedi and features the new jedi order.  I mean there are only 3 jedi in the oot.  How many jedi can vader find that never existed before the game was scripted, lol.

Yeah, I don't know.  And honestly it's about gameplay over story for me.  I thought the story was fun and fine, but it could have sucked as long as the gameplay was fun.

The trailer http://www.gametrailers.com/video/star-wars-spike-tv/59817 does show the same apprentice ("Starkiller") looking a little older and a little meaner, but no robo-appendages.

Maybe the Emperor Cloned him?  (that's sort of a joke)

I know you will hate me for saying so but this is what i think.

This game is pure garbage.  Darth Vader in the original trilogy did not survive death but this cardboard throw away character Starkiller does wtf?

If they bring in Cloning that is even dumber than Palpatine creating the rebellion.

Somehow this non canon character is more powerful than Anakin Skywalker/Darth VAder, more powerful than Luke Skywalker, Obi Wan Kenobi, Yoda.

I go into games for the storytelling myself, the gameplay has to be top notch too but what good is it if its just mashing buttons i can play god of war, street Fighter, or smash bros for that.

Consider this game not on my list but Final Fantasy XIII and Mass Effect 2 are. Both have phenomenal stories and interesting characters. Both evoke the kind of fantasy and sci fi i used to enjoy in films and literature before hollywood became braindead.

George Lucas is never getting another dollar of my money unless its a restored oot, i won't be conned this time by Lucas and the Critics so i won't be in line for Indiana Jones V the Search for the Idiots soon parted from their money.

Games that are pure fun for their gameplay is what Nintendo has always been good at with Mario, Zelda and Metroid. I don't own a wii and don't plan on buying one.  I am however going to buy another X-box 360.  To me the PS3 is worth one game metal gear 4.

When you say you are going to buy another Xbox 360, do you mean this to say you already have one and intend to purchase a second unit? Or perhaps you had one that broke and you are going to replace it?

I ask this because I hear a lot of people talk about owning more than one 360 or PS3, and for the life of me, I just can't understand why. Unless you intend to have people over often to do some serious LAN multi-player together, I just can't fathom anyone wanting more than one of the same console. Even if the reason is something like, "My 360 is hooked up in the living room and I gots to get my game on in the bedroon from time to time." I just can't imagine the convience of not having to move your console from one TV to another being worth the price tag of a second unit, not to mention you still have to go through the hassle of swapping your HD from console to console if you want to pick up playing on the same game save in the bedroom that you left off on in the livingroom.

My bro took our Xbox to his new home, so i need to buy a second unit.  I would not shell out that kind of cash unless i wanted to play mass effect 2 in jan 2010.

So in my situation it is not because of the failure rate of the Xbox 360.

Though my bros friend has 2 or 3 of them 2 of which rrod, lol.

It makes sense to buy a new one if they rrod. It is just the guys who brag about owning three working units that have me baffled.

I have a bud here at work that was very excited to buy a 2nd 360.  His 12 year old son and he play a lot of split-screen co-op games... but this generation it seems that split-screen is being dumped in favour of online only multiplay.  He bought the 2nd Xbox and a 2nd copy of some of their favourite games so they could play those together.

Today he came by to tell me that he sold it.  I was baffled since he told me he was so happy with the purchase.  Turned out he had bought a third one on a deal and had flipped that one, not his 2nd one.

I keep pinging him.  He keeps telling me it was money well spent.  My oldest is 6 years old and he's not quite into the same games I am yet.  But maybe we'll do something similar next gen.  The thing that really kills me is the 2nd copy of the game.  If they would let me play both consoles on one copy of the game, I would probably have already picked up a 2nd unit just for people coming over and stuff like was said.

Not to mention you also need a second TV, and if your not doing LAN, a second LIVE account. If you were to set up a LAN for playing games over the two systems, would you have both TVs in the same room, or would you keep them in the rooms they're in and play in two separate rooms?

I spent a lot of quality time playing NES with my dad when I was a kid, Pac-Man was our favorite multiplayer game. But I don't think it would have been quality time if he and I had been playing from separate rooms. I'd rather loose screen space with split screen and keep the enjoyment of having the people I am playing with at my side.

Of course, a setup with two TVs back to back in the same room would be pretty sweet.

One of the primary reasons I left PC gaming behind in favour of Console gaming was "multiplay from the same couch".  I've been very disappointed in the turn I mentioned above wherein developers are leaving split-screen co-op out in favour of multi-system co-op.  I can ask my workmate, but I assume they use headsets to chat whilst they do play from separate rooms.

And two TVs, C3PX?  Oh honey, he's teasing you.  Nobody has two televisions.

I guess the headphones would be okay. I frequently play with one of my friends I grew up with, it is great to get to chat over the mic. It is almost like being in the same room, though I'd much rather actually have him in the room with me. But if it is someone like your dad who you see often anyway, I guess it would still be spending quality time together.

Can you use the mic through LAN? I suppose you ought to be able to. If you were actually playing over LIVE through the internet you'd have to have a second account, which is another $50 a year.

It's only $50 a year if you're a chump and you pay full price for things.  ;)

Did you catch my movie quote?  I know you've been off for the past week...

Right, I think I paid $35 for mine 13 months.

Still off I am afraid, not sure what you are quoting. Man, I usually feel like king around this place, now suddenly I feel like the beggar on the side of the street who woke up late and has no idea what is going on.

EDIT: Wait! When you said movie quote, were you talking about your last post, or the post before that? Because I got the BTTF reference immediately, but when you asked if I got your reference, I though you were talking about the line, "You're a chump and you pay full price for things" which didn't ring any bells. Wow, I think I may be more off than I thought, I am to the point where I don't even know what jokes/references I am meant to be getting.

I have been playing Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. I've been wanting to play it for years. I was worried before I began that I might be disappointed after all the hype.

I'm really loving it, fun and addictive. A retro-gamers dream.

Which system?  I've heard that due to my love of Metroid and Zelda that I would really like it.  Maybe I'll pick it up on XBLA here one of these days.

There are new details on the next Prince of Persia game.  It's Sands of time 1.5.  Now the trilogy is complete!

http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/105/1054785p1.html

I'm always excited by a new PoP.  I was looking forward to a true sequel to PoP7, but I do prefer Sands of Time trilogy so I'm a little torn there.  And I'm worried that it's being rushed to corelease with the film... so that's rubbish there too.

Warioware Inc is almost impossible to get in the UK (I have the inferior and largely pointless Gamecube version).

Metroid Fusion is cool, it's also great to play Yoshi's Island on a handheld.

Monkey Ball Jnr is a laugh.

The SP is my favorite handheld in terms of design (the lack of a headphone socket is a major let down though).
