Has anyone watched the trailers for the new remake of the classic tv series V ?. Is it just me or does this look like shit !. Gone are the evil looking visitors , now we have aliens that look like theyre trying to look like A-list celebrities . Now we also have giant display screens at the bottom of the redisigned space ships !, why didnt the tv executives just put the shows original creator Kenneth Johnson's new book into production to follow on from the original ending of the mini series?. It's just going to be another remake fuck up of a sci-fi classic that everybody loves. ( Hasnt that happened before somewhere ? ). Anyway what do you think ?.

Remember when BSG [2003] started and old school fans refused to accept it? - I'd be willing to at least give this a fair go.

Will NuV detractors refer to the series as VINO (hic)?

The original was fun back then just as original Galactica was I'm not leaping to the conclusion that this will be a masterpiece but there is plenty of room to run with the idea from a fresh perspective.

The leaded of the Aliens named Anna (played by Morena Baccarin), looks and sounds almost exactly like Elizabeth Gracen from "Highlander: The Series".

The human resistance starts calling the alien visitors "The V's"? How stupid! I don't know how an actor could say that with a straight face.

And how can an action series cast The Queen of Valium; Elizabeth (Ho-Hum) Mitchell?

Looks like a disaster in the making .Why not have original cast , atleast this would help to sell the remake to the legions of fans already out there. ( that includes me ) Time will tell . Does anyone know when this will be shown on U.K. tv?.

My only reaction regarding the remake of "V" is: why? I mean, yeah, the 1984 miniseries has effects that, compared to today's standards, are pretty cheesy (how many times did they reuse those shots of the fighter and the tanker/transport, particularly during "The Final Battle" and the series?), but the story still holds up well to this day. Unless they plan on doing something additional with the Visitors' motives other than "steal the water and harvest humans for food," I don't see where they could do anything fresh with the concept.

Perhaps it'll surprise us, like BSGv2 did, and I'll give it a fair shake, but as things currently look, I'm of the opinion that it's going to wind up being a remake-for-the-sake-of-cashing-in-on-a-familiar-name flop.

V the remake will be shown on November 3rd at 8pm in the U.S. An International date is still anybody's guess.
