Any movement on this?
In Home Theater Forum's chat with Warner they said there are "No plans for Until the End of the World."

Looks like we need to take this into our own hands.

So what are the differences between the recent UK release and the German/Italian releases? Is it the shorter cut? Are there any extras in the UK release?

The difference as I understand it is that it's simply the "short" version as seen in the US.

I'm not really not sure what the plan is at this point...
but all I'd really like is someone to take the Trilogy version, slow it back down (I still say the music sounds terrible sped up 4%) and add an English subtitle track.

Anything more is bonus.

Well, about nine months after I placed my order for it on Amazon.co.uk, I finally received UTEOTW R2 from Metrodome. I'm totally unimpressed, and I haven't even popped the disc in yet. Don't get me wrong -- I'm thrilled to get a DVD to finally replace my laserdisc, but this seems like a budget release you'd find on sale for $5.99 at Target, certainly NOT the presentation this film deserves. From the back of the case: "Total Running Time: 151 mins * Region 2 * Colour PAL * Feature Aspect Radio: 1.78:1 * 2.0 Stereo * English" "Special Features: Theatrical Trailer, Essay on the films by Jason Wood". I haven't yet determined if this will suffer the 24fps->25fps 4% speedup problem, but is there any reason to think that it wouldn't? I'm not a big fan of watching any film two dozen times, so I haven't watched it in over five years now, saving up for the 'ultimate' release. Alas, this isn't it. But since there doesn't seem to be any encouraging news, I'll probably just break down and watch this one.

What we need is someone fluent in both english/german to translate the subs correctly.
The version I've seen around isn't so good, and my corrections are based on the theatrical subs and Google language tool.

Maybe Boon23 can help us out.
