I read this on the official site. I am not a hyperspace member. What do you think it means?

Hyperspace Reveals the Secrets of Star Wars 07

Fans are already primed to make next year a Star Wars year to remember. 2007 marks the 30th anniversary of the beloved saga, and already there are whispers of possible events that will commemorate that milestone. But what hasn’t yet been talked about is the biggest entertainment event of the year: a major addition to the Star Wars mythos.
It begins now. As with the earliest glimpses of Episode III, Hyperspace will be the first place to get a look at the secrets 2007 holds. I think they are just talking about the CGI series. Nothing worth shelling out money for in advance.

My first thought was "surprise= Archive Edition (or whatever you want to call it) 2007 SE box set". But it says it will be providing concept art and pre-production reports and such on it. So unless the new boxset will have changes on a much bigger scale than even the 97 SE, which we have no reason to believe (yet anyway--if this was the case i am sure we would have heard something though) then it must be the new television series, which should be coming out next year.

Personally I revoked my membership to Hyperspace before EPIII, because if there was any news worth reporting, you saw it first elsewhere.

I think they really dropped the ball on Hyperspace. It costs way too much for what you get out of it. I'm in Canada, and the membership discount on merchandise is neglibible with the massive shipping rates.

To be honest, and this hurts, if the DVD's in September aren't screwed up, I'm content to move on with life and forget everything about Star Wars except for the O-OT as films. Not all this other stuff.

I totally agree. My gravy train is making its last stop at Lucasfilm for Star Wars movies come this September!

There is no lingerie in space…

It's probably that crappy TV show they were hinting at. Bah.

Once I get my OOT DVDs my star wars universe will become whole again and I can leave Lucas to his "tinkering" for all eternity.

TF.N has just updated the story. Apparently its a Darth Vader video game. You can view some concept artwork there. Looks cool, if only it werent a video game.

I feel the same.

I am in Canada as well. A while ago I thought about joining, but with the exchange rates and shipping charges, forget it! I used to love reading Star Wars Insider magazine, but as soon as Hyperspace started, the magazine got smaller and the price got bigger. Now it sucks. Here in Canada it is about 9 dollars an issue plus tax!

well i suppose when combined with the Celebration IV, 3D releases, the Saga box set and the TV show--if in fact all these things are coming out next year--2007 looks to be a huge, huge year for Star Wars considering the series is finished.

That would be nice, but I'd be satsified if they just stopped now... even though I know they're never going to.

I have one more thing on my wishlist, though: the theatrical cut of Phantom Menace (and the other prequels for that matter) on DVD. The changes they made to that movie were worse than most of the SE stuff for the OT (not that it started out that great to begin with), but that extended podrace stuff is the worst crap ever and kills the pacing for the movie. I just want it to die! Whose idea was that, anyway?!

LOL, I agree so, Gaffer. And to think we now require theatrical cuts to movies most of us don't even like...It's funny to think of, but so true.

You know what? I honestly think George Lucas' involvement with Star Wars doesn't extend beyond the films very much. I'm starting to think that Lucasfilm, like any corporation, is full of greedy little sychophants obsessed with making as much money off of Star Wars before the well dries up.

Does Lucas lay awake at night wondering if he should release the O-OT on DVD? Probably.
