Horrendously stupid film spoofing The Pirates of Penzance with all kinds of other stuff thrown in for good measure. Hell, there's even a SW reference in it.

Which stupid Pauly Shore movie?
"I don't mind if you don't like my manners. I don't like them myself. They're pretty bad. I grieve over them during the long winter evenings."

You mean "Pauly Shore is Dead"? Supposed to be absolutely hilarious.

I figured I'd go ahead and ask this in here... who here is part of Netflix? I'm wondering because they started this new "Friends" feature on Netflix where you can invite a friend who is already a member to share ratings and reviews back and forth. When you see a movie there that has been rated by a friend on your list, you can click on the friends icon to see what they had to say about it.

Anybody here interested in swapping "Friends" links? Let me know. If interested, PM the e-mail address that you use for Netflix so I can send an invite to you.

PAULY SHORE IS DEAD REVIEW

I THOUGHT THAT I WOULD CHANGE MY REVIEW PROCESS FOR THIS DVD. I'M NOT GOING TO TELL YOU ABOUT THE SPECIAL FEATURES, THE SOUND, OR THE PICTURE QUALITY. WHAT I AM GOING TO TELL ALL OF YOU IS THAT I'M A BIG PAULY SHORE FAN, BUT THIS MOVIE IS TO BE AVOIDED. YES, THERE ARE SOME COOL CAMEOS IN THE FILM, BUT THIS MOVIE REALLY SUCKS. I HATE TO SAY IT, BUT IT'S TRUE.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

I LOVED THE PIRATES !!! THE SW REFERENCE WAS PROBABLY MY FAVORITE PART OF THE MOVIE THOUGH. THIS MOVIE IS ONE THAT YYOU'VE GOT TO SEE. I WOULD POST THE SW REFERENCE, BUT I DON'T WANT TO SPOIL IT FOR ANYBODY WHICH IS PROBABLY WHY BOSSK DIDN'T POST IT EITHER.

Exactly! It's one of those scenes that you've got to see to believe. Funny as all hell.

Here are some quotes just for kicks...

Quote

The Pirate King: What's the age of consent around here?
Mabel: Eighteen.
The Pirate King: Good! I'm old enough.

For the next scene, Mabel is wearing a corset (helps explain the quote)...

Quote

Frederic: Oh I love you. I'll always love you, come what may.
Mabel: "Come what may"? We'll all be burning in our beds come what may.
Frederic: Well run. For God's sake run!
Mabel: Death before dishonor. Besides, have you tried running in one of these things? It's a real bitch.

Anyone here ever seen "My Own Private Idaho"? It's coming out soon on Criterion Collection DVD and I was debating it. Never seen it before. But I have never experienced a bad movie that has received the Criterion treatment. And this is the first time it's been released on DVD so renting it ahead of time is kinda out of the question.

Or should I just wait and rent it once after it comes out?

Rent. Whether you like it or not will depend on your tolerance for gay hustler drug addict buddy movies, or anything by Gus Van Sant for that matter.
