So why are they releasing the Ewok movies on DVD but not the Holiday Special? I mean, honestly, it's not like these movies can be much better than the Holiday Special. I guess it's all the hypocrisy of Lucasfilm, though.

The Ewok movies weren't that bad...or at least for made-for-tv movies focused towards children made by CBS in the mid-eighties.

I knew Lucas said he would never release the Holiday Special...I guess it's just wishful thinking. I mean, I have my DVD bootleg, but I feel like if the other Star Wars television releases are all on DVD, well, it's kind of a shame. Though watching a bootleg of a second or third generation videotape does put one more into a seventies mood than a digitally remastered and enchanced version would do. It's a shame GL won't fess up to his mistakes.

MY UNDERSTANDING IS THAT GL DIDN'T HAVE MUCH CONTROL OVER THE HS.

I got a few on my radar. Uber-editions of Leon and 5th Element, Heat SE (Feb?) and Orgazmo (March?). Dayv?

I hope I will be able to avoid getting AvP.

Uber edition of Leon??? How can it get more uber than the un-cut version?

and why do they always re-release movies i have in uber editions...its not fair

Good question. I guess the new edition has the international cut (I only got around to purchasing the regular one) plus a host of extras. I like the film enough that I owe it to myself to pick this one up. Plus Russian roulette with Leon and Matilda is always cool.

I just picked up the International Uncut Version of Leon as well. God I love that movie. And the added scenes are spectacular.
