So, talking about Baby Geniuses 2, have anyone see the trailer for The Son of the Mask? Yikes!
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

Oy vey. The only moment in that trailer that made me laugh was when the mother is blowing up the balloon, and the baby starts blowing up his head in the same fashion; can anyone say "Jamie Kennedy's career is now OFFICIALLY in the toilet?"

Rumors:
Paramount will be releasing Star Trek: First Contact SE in February of 05, along with Hogan's Heroes season 1. Saw it at dvd.ign.com.
Love Hogan's Heroes and ST:FC is the best of the TNG cast Star Trek movies, so this is will be a good day for me.

Any of you guys planning on buying the 3 new SW DVDs (Ewoks, Droids, Ewoks Live)?

Yeah. I mean no. Got my fill of Ewok movies pre-puberty. Used to love them, though. I liked the super fast guy who looked like a goat.

As for Star Trek, I don't know if I need the special edition but I love that movie. I really liked Insurrection, too. It was less like a movie and more like a two-part episode, so it doesn't have the univeral appeal. But for those of us who loved the show, it was right up that alley.

To tell you the truth, I probably will, if for no other reason than nostalgia (even though they have been refoleyed, cut, and whatnot).

Well one tempting DVD release this month is the huge Monty Python box, filled with everything they did on their BBC years. Thirty hours of Monty Python. But I'd better start robbing banks, kinda expensive, and I'm in a low budget right now. Low like, Blair Witch Project compared to Titanic.

You mean the complete Flying Circus collection?
We've had that for a while.

Great set. Might be worth robbing a bank.

Dayv, is this the original Japanese Shall We Dance? I've been waiting for the original for a long time, so if it is I'm definitely going to pick it up (if it's the remake, I'll pass).

In the mid-80s, 2 made-for-TV movies were put together. I want to say they were made in conjunction with CBS, but don't hold me to that.

The first movie deals with the crash of a ship on Endor, with a family of 4. The father and mother are taken prisoner by a creature known as a Gorax. The Ewoks find the 2 children (brother and sister) and help them find the Gorax's lair and recover the parents.

The second movie takes place shortly after the first. The family is putting the finishing touches on the repairs to their ship when they and the ewoks are attacked by a band of Marauders. The entire family except the girl is killed, and she and many Ewoks are captured, along with the power cell from the families ship, which the leader of the Marauders thinks can make him very powerful. Wicket and the girl escape and run across a human hermit, stranded on the planet for many years. He has a ship, but its power systems were damaged during his crash.
They eventually make a plan to attack the Marauders, get the power cell, and use it to get his ship working again. In the end, he leaves, taking the little girl with him.

Thanks for clearing that up guys. Of course I know about the 2 Ewok movies, but I didn't put 2 and 2 together with the Live refernce, doh! Nice summary of the plot starkiller, I actually didn't remember what they were about(haven't seen 'em sice since the original broadcast, kind of a cross between adventure mountain and escape from witch mountain).

Man, what did you ruin the plot for?

Yeah, I'm sure you're just in agony over that one, aren't you?

Oh, I left plenty of stuff out.

Besides, conventional wisdom is that the plot was ruined well before I started talking about it.

As a side note, Ewok Adventure director John Korty made a great little animated feature called Twice Upon a Time. THAT'S a movie I'd like to see on DVD.
