Twist Ending

Author
Time
I was having this conversation this other day, about films that have a twist or surprise ending, and I've tried to think of all the movies with such plot device. So, if you can, please contribute to the list.

PLEASE DO NOT POST SPOILERS!!!

Psycho
The Sixth Sense
The Village
The Usual Suspects
Arlington Road
The Sting
The Empire Strikes Back
Memento
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Match Point
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

Batman Begins
Kill Bill Vol. 2
Magnolia (sort of)
Vanilla Sky
The Matrix (?)
Unbreakable (?)
The Gift
Secret Window
Hero
The Mothman Prophecies

Problem is, almost every thriller has a twist, but that's all I can think of for now...

Great one YIYF!

Every episode of 24 and Desparate Housewives apparently.

Robin Hood had an unexpected twist at the end. Not a plot twist, but still ...

What was the twist in signs? That weak ending doesn't count as a twist imo.

Please avoid spoilers, everyone. But I agree, both Unbreakable and Signs should not be listed, although I enjoyed both films.

More films:

Fight Club
The Others
Vertigo

The lame and confusing ending to the 2001 remake wasn't really a twist. The 1968 twist is brilliant.

That's because the '68 twist was simple in its execution. Quick, yet decisive. The 2001 "twist" was just long and convoluted.

No kidding! I saw that on the big screen (huge screen would be more accurate), and I was utterly disappointed with that final scene

I saw it on the big screen, too. And I wish I never did. I'm doing everything in my power to forget it so I never have to worry about thinking about it when I watch the original masterpiece.
