Help: Looking for... a O-OT preservation project on DVD.

Heya everyone,

I’m sick of lamenting the loss of the Original-Original Trilogy, and I am looking to get hold of a remastered version of the O-OT on DVD. I have a few problems in relation to this:
a) I am unaware of all the Fan Edits created by people on this board, so I don’t even know which one I would like to get hold of!
b) I live in Australia and it could be a real nuisance getting it back to me.

Now, I don’t have a credit card, so paying for expenses online is kind of outta the question. I’d need to pay with an American money order or cheque (which I suppose could get crazy expensive). Ideally, I’d love to just send American money in the mail, but I have a funny feeling this is illegal. I hope I’m allowed to talk about this on here. My understanding of the situation is that you’re allowed to give it to me if I pay for your expenses, but NOT if you make a profit off it. Is this correct?

In any case, I’d like to know what versions of the O-OT are out there, and the essential differences between each version. So, if you’re willing to help me out, either PM me or reply to this thread. Thanks to anyone who is willing to help me!

PS. I am actually really really desperate. The best version I have is the 1997 SE on VHS. I’ve got the 2004 DVD, but I hate it. The only part I like is the Bonus Materials where GL talks about all the stuff that made the OT so brilliant that he apparently forgot about when he was making the PT.
PSS. It might be worth noting that I am getting unlimited downloads in around a week. Is there any way to download these instead? if so, how do you do it and with what program?

There are many versions of the O-OT, most of which can be found on this board. You are correct, it is against the rules to offer bootlegs for sale or inquire about purchasing them. However, you may inquire about trades or request someone willing to PM you about acquiring a set. Most people on this board willing to accomodate you do so for the cost of discs and shipping or less.

Your biggest decision will be which version you would like to own. If you are strictly a PAL person, you have but one choice: Moth3r's set. If, however, you are able to play NTSC DVD's, you have a host of other options. Dr. Gonzo, Cowclops v2, and EditDroid sets are quite poplur at the moment. Have a look at the official project thread as well as the official screenshots thread to compare versions.

My Projects:
[Holiday Special Hybrid DVD v2]
[X0 Project]
[Backstroke of the West DVD]
[ROTS Theatrical DVD]

At the present time, I play all of my DVDs on my computer, so I'm assuming this can take NTSC and PAL DVDs? If I want to play it on a DVD player later on, however, I will need to get a PAL version. What's Moth3r's version like?

I am a fellow Australian and currently studying for the HSC. If you do manage to get a hold of any set of the OOT please PM/email me as it would be so much easier/cheaper to trade with a fellow Australian. Thanks in advance.

To contact me outside the forum, for trades and such my email address is my OT.com username @gmail.com

Also, you may want to PM Laserman here on the board if you want to trade copies, he is an Aussie like yourselves and may be able to help you out.

Hey you have a weird name for an Australian, "klokwerk" is a Dutch word. What's the story?

Hadn't seen that yet! Looks pretty cool. I'm downloading it. here's the initial version of the Tom Cruise thingy, but it's over 1 mb: a bit too large for a signature. People with dial-up would have killed me. It also runs too fast when you play it in Firefox.
