So many continuity errors are probably caused by that reason... Like the reversed insignia's on the SD commanders in Empire Strikes Back.

But you pay attention to which direction the sun is rising?

I was talking about the continuity error in Troy.

The sun rises east and sets in the west by the way.

Yes, I know that. I hope most others do too.
"You fell victim to one of the classic blunders, the most famous of which is 'Never get involved in a land war in Asia'."

My biggest problem with Troy was its attempt to demythologise a myth. HELLO? Verisimilitude is all good and fine, but a movie like this needs a little mythology to keep the viewers engaged. It's like Joel Schumacher's inability to acknowledge the inherent campiness in Phantom of the Opera; it needs that campiness to keep the audience involved in the movie. All the successful musicals of the last few years (Chicago, Moulin Rouge) have done this; why should mythology be any different?

Princess Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

I totally agree about the demythologising of Troy. Most of the movie was pretty good, not great. The thing that really bugged me was that the gods were not talked about. I don't need the gods to be played by actors, but this was a society where everything was correlated to their gods. It would be like making a movie about Jedis and never talking about the force. One guy in Troy talked about the gods being angry at the Greeks for destroying Apollo's Temple and he seems to be treated like he's a religious nut. If I were one of the Greeks, I would be pissed at Achilles for angering Apollo. Apollo is not a god that you would want against you.
My other main problem was that the Trojan War took ten years while the span of the movie was about two weeks. Also, the love story didn't work. Other than than that, it wasn't a bad movie.

I have, but the Trojan war was during the Iliad(which I've read about half of)..

I'm surprised they haven't made a video game of the Oddessy.

I work at a flippin' library. I've seen it, and I'm sad to say I've played it.

LOL that's great.

Wishbone's oddessy. Yay. I guess the closest we'll get to a serious odessy game is God of War for the PS2.

I agree with Gundark Hunter.

I'd like a qui-gon jinn please with an Obi-Wan to go.

Red heads ROCK. Blondes do not rock. Nuff said.

BTW, I saw Troy the other night. My dad rented it.

... It was better than I thought it would be, but it was way too long/drawn out.

Troy was one of those movies I thought would SUCK and I would hate it, and it was... kinda ok. Not bad.
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering
