could you give me a list of the ones you think are the best? Also, if you know of particular usernames that make good edits of movies in general, give me their names too.

You know you don't have to make a separate thread every time you post, right?  For instance, this could very easily fit in several of your existing threads, as could the "Does Lucasfilm like fanedits.org" thread.  Just saying.

Why don't you try looking through fanedits.com and see what edits interest you?  It doesn't seem like you've done much searching beyond finding this forum and asking us to tell you where to find things.

I also believe I sent you a PM with the address of another site you could go to that might have some useful information.  Why don't you check that one out?

All you gave me is fanedit.org Chainsaw. What's wrong with compiling a list of good fanedits and good fan editors? Has a thread like this already been made?

It just seems like you want highly opinion-based information handed to you.  What kind of edits are you looking for?  Edits that take a few things out to make the movie tighter?  Edits that add in a lot of deleted material?  Edits that completely restructure the movie to make it an entirely different experience?  What films are you dissatisfied with that you'd like to see edited?

There are a lot of edits out there that satisfy a lot of different desires by people.  For example, I could tell you that "The Matrix Dezionized," which simply removes Zion from "Reloaded" and "Revolutions" into one movie, while you might prefer "The Matrix Evolutions," which completely restructures the sequels into a very different, distinct experience.  Are you looking for technical expertise, an edit that feels 100% like it was released in theatres, or are more rough-around-the-edges edits acceptable, ones that, while they restucture a film into a superior story, might have audio or video glitches that take some people too far out of the movie to enjoy the new story?

Like I said, it's all personal preference.  The site I gave you, while IIRC wasn't to popular with some around here a while back, nonetheless gives very detailed information about many different edits along with reviews by viewers, and links to download said edits.  That way, you can decide what edits you'd like to see based on what the film originally was, what's been changed, how well it's been done technically, and you get a link to download it.  There are a lot of edits on that site I found out about through that site itself, as well.

If you want specific reccommendations without regard to what you're looking for in an edit, fine then, here you go:

- Star Wars: Revisited
- Terminator 3: The Coming Storm
- Blade Runner (2008 Extended Edition)
- Pearl Harbor: Strength and Honor
- InfoDroid's Indiana Jones edits
- Superman Redeemed (Superman III & IV edited together removing the B.S.)

And for editors:

- Adywan
- ADigitalMan
- FanFiltration
- CBB
- Spence
- InfoDroid

and many others.

Finally, why are all these threads of yours in the "Star Wars Fan Edits and Preservation Efforts" forum and not in the "Other Fan Edits" or "Off Topic" forums?

You have many questions that could be answered through some simple research.

You can check out fanedits.com (our fan edit wiki) for a list of fan edits, and you obviously already know about fanedit.org. Why not read the project descriptions, reviews, and nearly endless posts in both sites' forums, download a few edits, and watch?

Cut the guy some slack. I don't see a problem with his request. Searching through all the clutter in these threads can be pretty difficult even when using the search function.

there are two types of edits i like. ones that you dont realise are edits as they are professional and mostly subtle in changes (ie infodroids indy cuts) and there are the ones that are really interesting but not always cut perfectly.

the later favourites of mine that i have managed to see, that are not 'perfect' but very interesting conceptually are:

- star trek bugs

- matrix dezionised

- x-men requiem war

- star wars reborn trailers and clips (the trailers alone stand up as edits)

in responce to critisism i would like to know what edits to avoid. there a LOADS of edits out there, especially star wars ones, and it takes a while to get hold of each one (i only torrent, cant stand rapidshare). it would be nice to have a list of whats worth a watch and what isnt.

My favorites besides Star Wars Revisited are:

A.I. - Supertoys Last All Summer Long

Army of Darkness - Primitive Screwhead Edition

I cannot comment on adywan's revisited because i have not seen it, but i like ADigitalMan's edit of Episode III revenge of the sith.

Revisited and The Phantom Edit as well as  phantom editors episode II all have to go own my want list.

I have also heard that the MagnolianFan edits are also highly recommended.

Before Ady edit was released there was the darth editous release.

I am more of a fan of preservation Projects but have great respect for those who can take an awful film and make it enjoyable.
