Chewie has his hair cut differently in SOTE in order to resemble a famous Wookie bounty hunter, which explains his different hair style in ROTJ.

Chewie has a different hairstyle in ROTJ?

Chewie has a hairstyle?

Yup. You never noticed?

Grooming, I dunno, whatever you want to call it. He has a very different look in ROTJ. In SW and ESB he has a more rounded straight all around thing going on, where in ROTJ he has those bangs and looks a little more groomed (feel bad using the word groomed, make it sound like he is an animal. Wookies are people to ya know).

Sorry for the bump, but thought it worth mentioning ‘Prince Xizor is Canon Again!’:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_b0DUoydxY - a short video from Star Wars Explained

He was mentioned in the recent Crimson Reign comic by Charles Soule.

At this point they may as well make ‘Legends’ the old EU again! More Black Sun is very welcome too.

I’m pretty sure that, in accordance with Disney’s chastity policy, Xizor has been metaphorically neutered. In his original Legends incarnation, Xizor was quite the horndog.

Original Thrawn i don’t like Disney Thrawn. Even when being written by Zahn. Because he was only interesting in contrast to Mara Jade and Post ROTJ heroic Luke Skywalker. And Talon Karrde. Kind of boring on his own.

I prefer “Heir to the Empire” to “Shadows of the Empire,” but both are worth reading and both villains have great potential in Star Wars. We got more Thrawn in the animated Rebels series, and rumors are we could see him in live action in the future. I wouldn’t be surprised if Xizor made a similar jump very soon. I could see him showing up in “The Bad Batch” or “The Book of Boba Fett.”

Apart from a hatred of Star Wars Rebels in general, I was particularly incensed by how Thrawn was outsmarted by some whiny kid in the series finale.

I don’t know how Thrawn could have expected the Rebels to show up with space whales biologically capable of jumping to hyperspace. That seems like something that would be outside of ANYONE’s calculation (and no viewer would have expected it either). More importantly, Ezra is able to effectively ‘communicate’ to the whales using the Force, and the point across Thrawn’s two seasons of Rebels is that the mysteries of the Force are outside of his calculations.

Thrawn isn’t infallible. He wasn’t in Legends and he isn’t in Canon - he needs to have at least one specific area of weakness otherwise he’s more or less boring. I admit, I wish Thrawn had done more actually smart tactical stuff in Rebels - there are only two moments in the show where I was impressed by something he’d accomplished or figured out. But he was never outsmarted.
