Hey all. Thought since there is a bunch of threads of complaints, praises and everything in between, I thought I would start 2 new threads where you can say what you like and do not like about Episode III.

Lets see what the majority of the posters here think.

OK, what didn't you like about it? I thought it was good. Except for the "NOOOOO" Frankenstein cry at the end.

Well there could have been more dialogue between him and Palpatine.

Palpy could have introduced to him toTarkin, About the construction of the DS, Take the clonetroopers to wipe out all the jedi.

Too many plot wholes. in the original stoy material as evidenced by the john l. flynn fanfic fall of the republic, Obi wan was to retrieve anakin's lightsaber that he later gave to luke. Boba Fett was supposed to appear and was in earlier drafts see making of revenge of the sith book. Han Solo was also going to be in it and the birth of the rebel alliance. Who knows boba will probalbly appear in the 2006 t.v. show since lucas would consider him a supporting role, and not one of the original characters who play central roles in either trilogy. Lucas did'nt mention the mythic mandalorian material, and the correlians were the first to sign with the rebel alliance. Han Not being in it seems to make sense though, seeing that he did'nt meet chewie until he was in the imperial navy as a cadet out of the academy, and was drummed out of the service for befriending chewie. i thought the wookie planet originally would look like endor, since that is where the concept came from for rotj, and lucas changed the wookie army into ewoks.

“Always loved Vader’s wordless self sacrifice. Another shitty, clueless, revision like Greedo and young Anakin’s ghost. What a fucking shame.” -Simon Pegg.

1. JediKev said it first, but I was hoping for it as well...more Tarkin. We saw him for about 2 seconds at the end of the movie, and not even any lines.

2. I have to agree with everyone else about Vader's No. It could have been done much better. The force crushing was fine, just the line stank.
(I will, however disagree with anyone concerning the Frankenstein tribute. I did think that was a nice touch.)

3. In the last Clone Wars season 1 episode, Grevious took on 4 (or was it more) Jedi at once using 2 arms (not 4) and a leg, and defeated several of them.
Obi-wan beat him alone and with Grevious using all 4 arms.
In other words, Grevious wasn't tough enough. He did some impressive things, just not enough of them.

* Grievious was not menacing at all, and was better portraited as avillain in "clone wars". It was a stupid badly acted anti-character.

* There were major continuity problems and ridiculous plot holes large enough for a truck to go through, things a child could detect after reading the script, but that's how the prequels are.

* Not enough Vader. and I mean the REAL Vader. After he gets the suit the movie ends in about 2 minutes. We should get at least 15 more minutes of film after the suit.

* Cut scenes that SHOULD NOT be cut. The scene in Dagobah and Qui-Gon's scene SHOULD have been in the final movie. There was absolutely no reason for removing them. Pace problems? Those scenes were in the final 5 minutes! By cutting Qui-Gon's scene, he cut from the SW saga the whole explanation about the Jedi spirits!

* Anakin's fall to the dark side is too drastic and not well played. It seems like GL was aiming for a subtle change, but suddenly he saw himself at page 100 on the script and decided to just make him go to the dark side like that *snaps fingers*. Also, Anakin becomes Palpatine's servant too easily. But then, if you think about it, there was NO way to make that character go to the dark side in a 2 and a half hour movie...

* The middle section feels rushed AND slow at the same time, and that's not good. It suffers from the same problem as the prequels: two-sided dialogue being rapidly intercut by... a two-sided dialogue. And again. And again. Headache material here, folks.

* R2D2's absolute power, with oil and jets. They did an excelent job erasing the droid's memories, as R2 also forgot his abilities...

* Acting. While ROTS has the best actings in the prequels, it still have some horrible moments. Natalie Portman's acting in the first half of the film, Ian McDiamand going a little bit over the top and changing his voice characterization in the middle of the scenes (later dub problems, perhaps?). Hayden's every scene. Samuel L Jackson and Ewan McGregor, when they are forced to act to absolutely nothing (you can FEEL the greenscreen on their acting sometimes).

* While the SFX were not as disturbing and horrible as the previous prequels movies, it is still very annoying.

* J.E. Jones horrible job as Vader. Even though he had three lines, and one of them was "noooooo!", he delivered them like he didn't care.

* Hayden in Vader suit, acting as a fool. DAVID PROWSE should be there. He deserves it.

* Padme's death. She gave up living and died of a broken heart? What is this, an early Shakespeare play? A Byron poem? Absolutely ridiculous.
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

The whole movie blew chunks! again.
"Drink the Kool-Aid. Wear blinders. Cover your ears. Because that's the only way you can totally enjoy Revenge of the Sith -- the final and most futile attempt from skilled producer, clumsy director and tin-eared writer George Lucas to create a prequel trilogy to match the myth-making spirit of the original Star Wars saga he unleashed twenty-eight years ago. Fan boys, of course, have convinced themselves otherwise. So have several critics, if you go by early reviews."

I was hoping 2 see "IG-88" and maybe how he went crazy at the lab he was made at. I do not remember where I hear about that story. I think it was part of the "EU". but IMO after the Jedi's got hunted down and Just before Anakin becomes Vader it would have been cool to see "IGs Escape!". As the Troopers start getting the Go on "Order 66", A signel is sent from Deep Space when IG-88 gets the Code and it makes him "Lose it" thinking everyone he sees is a "Jedi".

Well I will say it like this...all of us had many hopes and wishes for number III however some of them did not come true...
- it was rushed and choppy(the darth vader transition) almost as if G.L. was on some time clock...
- there was a lack of giving your fan base the benefit of the doubt( not everything had to be explained )
- I personally think that many of us would have liked it to have been a full 3 hours and about half way through anakin turns and then slaughters the jedi etc...

I mean there are probably a few more things however I want most to undertand that I did enjoy the movie and from a fans standpoint( having grown up on IV V VI ) I was looking for some of that old magic and it had semblances of it just not all the way through.

... I liked pretty much all of it.

I DID NOT like the "NOOOOOO!!" At the end. That is way OOC for Vader.

I didn't like Grievous. He wasn't as cool as I was expecting, especially after watching Clone Wars.

I had no idea Tarkin was going to be in it at all, but now that I know he's in it, I wish he had more screen time and maybe a line or two.

I thought everything was fine with the Darth Vader scene except two things. 1. Why would Palpatine tell Vader he killed Padme? I just don't understand that. 2. The "Noooooo!" line was really dumb, though the more times I watch it, it doesn't get better, but it gets more bearable.

The lack of Shaak Ti was dissapointing, but nothing that would make me dislike the movie completely.

Although I've come to accept the "force memories" theory, I still think it would have been better if Padme had lived on so Leia could remember her.

There were some other things that could of been improved, but besides the things I listed, nothing else really struck me as being stupid or dumb.

The only thing I almost enjoyed was Obi-Wan yelling "YOU WERE THE CHOSEN ONE!!!"
"I love you..."

"I know..."

With 100 episodes of a TV series to fill, you just may get to see IG-88. Who knows? It could be cool to have the newly formed Empire hire bounty hunters to help them track down the few remaining Jedi. There would be less overhead in that when one is trying to close one's grip on a new government.

Only C3PO's memory was wiped. When Organa issues the command, he only mentions it for the "protocol droid". Which also explains why R2D2 was so determined to get to Obi Wan in A New Hope.

By the way, even though I liked the movie and enjoyed it, I agree with everything on this list. That about sums up my complaints and nitpicks.

The Tv series in 2006 better be good.
"A Jedi can feel the force flow through him".

In order of how much they bothered me:

#1) The incongruity between Padme's death and Leia remembering her in ROTJ.

#2) Anakin saying "What have I done?" after allowing Mace to get killed. This weakens his transformation to Vader a hundred-fold.

#3) Padme being medically fine but losing the will to live. No offense, but this line was clearly written by a man who has no biological children of his own. Those children would have given her a will to live. Cutting this line would have made it true that Anakin killed Padme.

#4) Palpatine's cheesy "Yes!" during the fight with Tyrannus.

#5) The voices of the battle droids and the Nemoidian in on Greivous' ship. Could they have been any less frightening?

#6) Lack of Qui-Gon. Dagobah really isn't necessary when you get right down to it.

There are other things I'd change too, but these really did detract from an otherwise awesome film (in my humble opinion).
I am fluent in over six million forms of procrastination.

Was there any situation in the Original Trilogy where R2 Using his jets would have been the best option?

Also, I was under the impression that the oil was spewing forth from the battle droid when R2 cut into it, and R2 Just used the shocker established in RotJ to ignite it.

I have only seen it once and will probably have more info in time, but here is the tenative list...
in no particular order

1. there are some horriblly corny/hooky lines/segments in the first part of the film. Starts with a bang and soon wimpers.
2. Film is in general, very very rushed. Could have easily been split in two and worked much better.
3. Grevious is a punk nothing but running away.
4. fight with dooku short.
5. Finally we get to see wookies, and its for all of 30 seconds, if they are in the film at least use em.
6. Kasheek was treeless.
7. Mace goes out like a punk, just like every other jedi not named obi or yoda.
8. Is yoda the only Jedi master that can tell he is about to be shot in the back?
9. Anikins fall was completely lame/rushed.

Emp: You should turn to the dark side ani.
Ani: But you are bad.
Emp: Says who?
Ani: the jedi.
Emp: What makes them right?
Ani: But there wise.
Emp: They lie, evil is all a POV thing.
Ani: hmmmm.... maybe your right.
Emp: ill save your girl if you join the ds.
Ani: You got a deal, sign me up for the "I now pledge my life to you" package.
EMP: nice, now go slaughter all the children.
Ani: ok, sounds good to me

10. Apparently "he hunted down the Jedi and destroyed them" really means "he killed a bunch of little kids at the jedi temple all at one time"
11. Apparently Obi in ESB has alsimers cause he apparently cant remember holding LEIA, LUKES TWIN SISTER AT THERE BIRTH, when Luke leaves for cloud city stating "that boy is our last hope" and yoda drops "no there is another"
12. Apparently Leia thinks that Ms. Organa is her birth mom and she died when Leia was young, cause there is no way she could remember padmes face
13. Tarkin out grievious in bad idea i needed tarkin in the whole friggin movie, where it be controlling clones or droids.
14. No Vader in the suite killing many things.
15. Yoda "Oh by the way Obi, Qui dropped by from the dead and showed me something, make sure you drop by before you go into seclusion so i can run it by you"
16. CGI RToo is lame and all his toys must be removed over the next couple decades.
17. Doesnt R2 have magnetic feet in the first movie? if so why doesnt he used them in battle ship?

Thats all for now, give me another viewing and i am sure there will be more...

EDIT1:
well i take that back, all i needed was a few minutes.

18. VADER = FRANKINSTIEN = UBER LAME
19. So it took 18 years to build the first death star and only 6 or so to build the second???

EDIT2:

20. Yoda Chewie are homeboys? While i like the idea, why doesnt this ever come up on the falcon, or well anywhere in the OOT???

Wow! You have pretty much covered the terrain already, and I agree with most of what y'all said. Let me just add a fantasy comment: since Ani's "conversion" seems to happen a bit too fast for most of us (destroying all the oh-so-important subtlety and richness of the most crucial aspect of this long-awaited PT), and since we would have enjoyed seeing a bit more Vader/Han/Tarkin/etc. (which would also have helped the transition to ANH), don't you find it even more frustrating now to have gone through all the useless rubbish in TPM? I mean, we almost could have started directly with AOTC with a few adjustments, no? (That WOULD make Qui-Gon/Darth Maul pretty much unnecessary, though, I guess. But also kid-Ani, whom I do not care for.) What do you think?
