I don't hate the fact that...I'M GOING TO CELEBRATION III!

Yeah, Luck plus about 800 dollars

Me and my dad are flying up there on the Thursday morning and we'll get there at around 8am. We're going to leave at 5pm on the last day of the convention, Sunday. So a three night stay in Indianapolis Indiana, to which I've never been before, attending my first convention(a star wars one at that) and my first ride on a commercial jet. One word: kickass

No doubt about it.

My dad doesn't care enough about Starwars to spend that kind of money. He's more of Star Gate/Trek sort of person.

My dad really isn't a Star Wars fan either, but this trip would allow us some father-son bonding time.

Until he sees you run off from table to table in the convention drooling like a Pavlovian experiment at each new thing you see and that he'll never actually see you and, when you do have conversations, you'll be running your mouth off about SW the whole time and he won't get a word in edgewise. Some bonding.

Unless... his father goes dressed as Vader, and him as Luke.

All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. Good point

You seem to speak from experience, have you taken your wife to a convention?

Which brings me to a Ric's dating tips #1:

* Never, EVER take a date to a convention, specially if it's sci-fi or anime related. I say that from my own experience.

Do they have a lot of demand for conventions down there?

Yes, but mostly anime. There's a SW convention every now and then, but on Rio.

No. Brasilia is the capital. Rio is about 300, 350 miles northeast from where I currently live.

Well, 300 miles is a long ways to drive for anything. It would take five hours going 60 MPH nonstop; that's a good chunk of a day.

What kind of monitor did you buy for your mac-mini? Or are you using one you already have?
