Things that you believe that probably aren’t true

I believe that poison ivy/oak can get ‘into your blood’ and spread that way, or even reoccur later.

But I know that doctors are pretty convinced it can’t. I still believe it though because it fits my experience better than what the experts say.

What crazy things do you believe, even though you know better?

If I say something (in particular) hasn’t happened, and I don’t want it to, I say “knock on wood” because I have this nagging suspicion like God has a sense of humor and would make it happen just because I said it wouldn’t. Knocking on wood, or saying that phrase, has no effect on anything but I still say it.

I literally go hit a piece of wood when I say that, you know…just in case I’m wrong about God. 😉

Well it didn’t take this thread long to go south…

I believe in haunted houses.

this i am curious to hear more about.

A haunted house is a place where a ghost resides. If you’d like to hear more about ghosts, refer to future posts where you indicate your interest and I respond.

I’ve had a lot of freaky experiences with seemingly haunted buildings or rooms. I know that it’s not true, and it was probably all just imagination, but it struck me as so unsettling that I can’t help but believe it.

Negative energy invites that sort of thing.

Stop misusing the word energy! Energy doesn’t refer to mystical shrouds that surround people.

Samezies, in fact I think many, I wouldn’t say most, but perhaps a majority, of houses that have been standing for a long time are haunted. Just haunted in the sense that a previous owner has accidentally left an imprint of their self behold. But most of the time their presence is benign and unintrusive so nobody notices. The house I live in now is most definitely not haunted as its only been standing since the 80s and the only previous owner died in a nursing home, my dad purchased it directly from their kids. (He rents it to me… Pretty sweet deal actually because he only charges me exactly what it costs to keep the place running basically I just pay the bills but didn’t have to buy it but I’ll still get it someday… And yes I’m aware of how lucky I am and how sweet of a deal this is and I’m very grateful about it my dad’s awesome) But I’m convinced the house I grew up in was haunted. The “ghost” didn’t seem to have any negative will or intentions or anything but they were there.

It can

So mystical shrouds that surround people are things you believe that probably aren’t true.

Indeed, although I don’t think there’s anything mystic about it.

sounds like you believe it, and also believe it to be probably true, which is invalid for this thread. sorry. post about frozen pizza being better than fresh instead.

How are extraplanar beings who once were living on this plane supposed to be able to detect energy (or chemicals in the air) emanated from your body by you as a result of your emotional state?
