Theme Parks You Wish Existed

So... I just got back from DisneyLand.  I'm not the biggest of Disney fans, though I do like several of their properties.  I was most excited to see some non Disney stuff... like the Indy ride that opened right after I was last there, the new Star Tours, Captain EO, etc...

I was sitting on the Mostly-SubMarine (Mostly) when I had bathysphere flashbacks to BioShock.  In the space of about a second, I had a little daydream about how great a BioShock theme park would be.  Instead, this admarine took me back to Finding Nemo, which was fine... but not as good as the ride I'd just imagined in my head.

My 8 year old son also got in some trouble for wearing a Mario hat and t-shirt one day.  "THERE'S NO MARIO at DISNEYLAND!" he was bluntly informed.  So I can speak for my son and say that a MarioLand would be of strict interest to him.

What other attractions would you like to see at xhonziLand, xhonziWorld, or EuroXhonzi?

IT'S MY TRILOGY, AND I WANT IT NOW!

"Yeah, well, George says a lot of things..." a young 1997 xhonzi on RASSM

"They're my movies." -George Lucas. 19 people won oscars for their work on Star Wars (1977) and George Lucas wasn't one of them.

Citadel of the Time Lords.

You have you basic Disneyesque Castle centred park design already there :

The Chancellory guards led by the Castellan would lead you through the Capitol.

At the Time Lord Academy (Hogwarts for Time Tots) with the appropriate chapter houses (Prydonian, Arcalian, Patrex, Dromeian, Cerulean, Scendles) each with their own house colours you could learn if you have what it takes to be a lord of time.

You could visit the Panoptican and have tea with Gold Usher.

Visit the High Council chambers and the Tardis cradles.

Take potshots at various ornamental carvings older than the universe itself with stasers or scrawl naughty memetic utterances with the Shobogans.

Watch great moments in lost unhistories on Public Register Video with your host Runcible 'the fatuous' and stare into the Untempered Schism.

Take a tour of the Transduction Barrier generators and enter the Matrix to commune with deceased Time Lords.

You could visit an Outsider settlement and enjoy ghost stories told by mountain dwelling hermits, taking in the natural beauty of red grass fields, silver leaved trees and the daisiest daisies the park has to offer and feed the flutterwings.

Journey into the Dead Zone and visit the Tomb Of Rassilon and admire his artifacts like the infamous Plimsolls of Rassilon:

and play the great game where losing is all part of the fun.

On your way out your memory of your visit will be erased so you can experience the whole thing afresh months before you last came.

There is already an Abortionplex? Weird, people will pay for anything.

Bioshock theme park would be amazing! I'd walk all the way to it just to see it if I had too. I noticed on amazon that a Bioshock novel is coming out in July and even though I don't know the author and imagine it will probably suck, I've already as good as bought it in my mind. Mmmm, Bioshock!

At one time I wanted a HUGE Star Trek based theme park built that would have been a kind of cross between the theme-park portrayed  in the movie "Futureworld", and what was to become the "Star Trek Experience" (A combination prop exhibit / Star Tours style ride / Quark's Bar (cafe) thing) held at the Las Vegas Hilton from 1998-2008.

I can just imagine a person in a 'TV's Frink' Costume welcoming people.

People could go in the Warbler roller-coaster where they get repeatedly *sighed* on.

After that they could go to the Ric Olie shop to purchase any number of Ric Olie related items.

Then they could go to the 'Kenkraly2007 fried chicken' shop and get food with the colars fixed.

The unfinished JediTray ride would have an "Opening 2012" sign crossed out with "deleted" written underneath.

Not very.  A shop clerk was mostly just making friendly banter and maybe trying to make a sale by saying, "Mario, eh?  Hmm... I don't know if we can let you get away with that... maybe your dad will have to buy you a Mickey T-shirt and cap!"

I knew I could count on your business!  Unfortunately... I'm not sure very many other people would really care that much.  Maybe I'll make this themepark in my basement and backyard.  Do you think my HOA would go for that?

Yes, I have that book in my wishlist as well.  Here's hoping that it's awesome!

I was inspired to read up on the theme parks of my youth. Sad that the parks that I knew are gone, lost to time.

Paramount's Kings Island: Now just "Kings Island", owned by Cedar Point, with no Klingons or Scooby Doos to roam around the park.

Kentucky Kingdom: Shut down last year. May come back with the original owner, eventually.

Thankfully Holiday World is still family-owned and operated. Free Pepsi, parking, sunscreen, wi-fi. Just big enough to be cool, but small enough to be friendly.
