All right guys, I've been noticing something contradictions to that website from a few people around here.... I myself don't notice anything wrong with TFN
but I'm really curious to know what's so bad about it...

by the way, if this topic is considered crap, kill it off... but I just wanted to know.

TFN itself is great. The forums there have a bad rap for being filled with unabashed Lucas fanboys who flip out if you criticize the SEs or the Prequels.

I'll break down my understanding of TF.N for you:

1)Criticism of Star Wars, LFL and Lucas is verboten.
2)The Forums are overrun by fanboys who embrace anything LFL does. If it comes from Lucas, then it must be so.
3)The main site is a clutter of advertisements and corporate shilling.
4)The mods are unscrupulous, I believe millenniumfalcon.com was created after a falling out with the regime at TF.N. I'm not sure how the story goes exactly, but I'm pretty sure they fucked over some folks at mf.com, hence the hatred there for TF.N.
5)Anyone who embraces the unaltered original trilogy is generally derided.
6)It's boring. Topics on the Forum are usually of the ilk seen now in the General Star Wars discussion here at OT. "What is the worst line of the trilogy, How can Lucas rape my childhood, My wife has never watched Star Wars in her underwear, What's faster, an XWing or a Tie Fighter..." that kind of stupid shit that people have been talking about on the internet since the 90's.

I swear, Jay should create a Forum just for people who want to discuss mundane things like "Oh my God, has anyone noticed Lando's strap changes places in Jedi, like 3 times?" Some of us have been around for a while on the 'net and it's all old news, and frankly fucking boring. Seriously, I'm starting to think that Star Wars is dead.

MF.com was created by darthpsychotic, a guy who's had his own share of runins with TFN. This thread on MF.com about prequel spoiler history is a pretty good description of what's happened between sites like MF, TFN, Episode-X.com, Aldera.net, starwars.com forums, TBone's site, and other spinoff boards.

MF used to be awesome for spoilers, yeah. All the best stuff that TFN and such places wouldn't post because they were scared of Lucas' lawyers would be posted on MF... the discussion boards never interested me though, just the spoilers.

I was banned from tfn for no good reason, but I'm glad they banned me. Now I'm all for free speech, feeling free to have your own views and such, but there comes a point with all the celebrating of idiocy and accepting/praising mediocre quality that one has to take a step back and look at the state of things and say "this is bs." I just don't need to waste my time reading retarded posts about the original trilogy being crap, that star wars was always crap, and that is what we should expect and just accept it as the same as the new star wars crap being released today since it was always crap. And you know why some on there say that? Because it wasn't made in 2006. It's basically some empty-headed retard coming along and figuring out how to type and say that since the original trilogy doesn't have cgi in every other scene, it's no good. Goddam brats. There's a thing called excellence, and that's what star wars used to be, and it didn't need cgi to do it. If it wasn't nobody would have cared for it and the phenomenon it became at the time would have never happened.

So I'm glad I'm out of there, running around in circles all day with some bored kid... yeesh, I must sound like an old person, but I'm really quite young...
