The worst movies ever! — Page 2

Yet more lousy films:
The remake of Planet of the Apes (why? I liked the originals, and wanted to like this one, too, but alas, no.)
Most any film based on a Marvel comic that isn't titled "Spider-Man" or "X-Men" (yes, there are a few exceptions, but they are few and far between)
The remake of "Psycho"

"The Mummy Returns" is the only movie I can remember stop watching before it ends. I rented it on DVD for some weird reason, and after 20 minutes I just turned it off, and imediatly returned it.
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

American Psycho 2 with Mila Kunis (??) as a serial killer gets my vote as one of the worst. I'd also have to add Battlefield Earth, The Avengers and all the insipid, tedious American Pie sequels.

Aside from Manos (an easy target) all of these new films keep getting listed. What about some atrocious films older than some of you neophytes? Films by Ed Wood do not count. How about some real bona fide time wasters:

Mario Bros.
Lock Up
Howard the Duck (sorry, but it's true)
Dirty Dancing
Staying Alive
Flashdance (refer to those last three as a 'trifecta')
I am fluent in over six million forms of procrastination.

If you turned it off before the chick fight between Patricia Velasquez and Rachel Weisz, you returned it too soon. Any moment beyond that was certainly too long to watch though. Hey cool: Both their names end in "z." That may be the most interesting plot development in the film.

More I thought of:

Cool as Ice
The Next Karate Kid
King Solomon's Mines (1985)
Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold (both of these are "so bad they're good" Indiana Jones ripoffs)
Jurassic Park 3

I swear, I turned off at that moment. When I saw that Brandon Frasier's character's wife had been on freaking acient egipt or whatever and having knife fights with Anak-su-namuwhatever, I KNEW I was wasting my time.

The only film I walked out on was "Dream a Little Dream of Me." What a pile of crap.

I thought the Charlie's Angels movies are fun to watch for fun's sake (and they don't look too bad, either. )

Teenwolf Too was stupid, and MI2, while a mildly interesting film, sucked as a "Mission Impossible" film. Had it been under any other name, it would have been fine. Maybe when III comes out, the bad guy won't be an ex-IM employee (just to be different.)

"Mummy Returns" was such a sad rehash. All of a sudden, the main characters are linked by fate with previously unknown birthmarks and family trees? And the stupid bracelet that could only show one location after another, instead of the actual, final destination? STOOOOPID!

"Jurassic Park 3"

I actually consider 2 to be the worst (the girl on the parallel bars - whatever!)

"The Grudge" (In the same vein as The Ring)"

The Japanese Ringu is far superior, but both the American and Japanese "Grudge" are bizarre (again, I prefer the Jap. version overall. Better suspense.)

"The Jackal"

Really? I love that film.

MeBeJedi: Sadly, I believe the prequels are beyond repair.
JediRandy: They’re certainly beyond any repair you’re capable of making.

The Jackal

I was dissapointed in it as a remake,I really like the original Day of the Jackal, and expected it to be IMO less what i found to be an action/thriller film, I expected it to be more the thriller the original was, and didnt find Bruce Willis to be a good "jackal"

I liked both versions, but I was really impressed with Willis' low-key portrayal. Of course, I'm a big fan of most of the actors in that film too, so maybe I'm biased.
