The voice of Qui-Gon — Page 2

^Oops! I forgot about that one!

Being a Qui-Gon fan, I appreciated what you tried to do with your limited resources, ADM. It comes as no surprise that the most effective V.O. comes when Yoda is meditating, as that is where it was originally intended. If the "My master, you must live!" could be smoothed out, I think it would work just as well as "Run, Luke, Run!" As it stands it sounds a bit out of place. And I understand what you were going for in the Dagobah scene, but the dialogue is just too obvioulsy cut-and-paste from TPM and ESB, in my opinion.

Has anyone considered "The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe" as a source for new Qui-Gon dialogue? Well, I'm sure we all have, but has anyone actually put something together with it yet? I wasn't released on DVD until after this and other edits were completed, so it's an untapped resource thusfar.

"Kingdom of Heaven" also seems to have some good material by Neeson on the same lines of redemption, forgiveness, etc. that ADM previously mentioned. Unfortunately, Neeson's character is in pain during most of his screentime, so there's some strain on his vocals.

I was going to say you should use Schindler's list, but I forget whether he had an accent in that movie or not. But definitely batman begins, he also did the voice in the video game it says here on Imdb, and oh I didn't know he was in gangs of new york, but everyone had some fake accent in that so that's no good I guess, ah look here... I actually own the movie Next of kin for whatever reason, maybe it's to watch it and let you know if Neeson said anything in it that could be worth using... hmmm
He big in nothing important in good elephant.

"Miss you, I will, Original Trilogy..."

"Your midichlorians are weak, Old man." -Darth Vader 2007 super deluxe extra special dipped in chocolate sauce edition.

Total hillbilly accent: "It's mine ain't it? I can go out and take a piss in the backyard if I want to."

And his accent is still a thousand times better than Bill Paxton's.

But let us now turn to Nell, where Liam says:
"Taaaayyyyyyyiiiiinnnnnaweeeeeeennnnnnnn."
I am fluent in over six million forms of procrastination.

Qui-Gon can be heard in two scenes in ADM's RotS:

INT. POLIS MASSA-OBSERVATION DOME-NIGHT

On the isolated asteroid of Polis Massa, YODA meditates.
QUI-GON: (V.O.) Do you feel responsible? Forgive yourself. If you let it, it will destroy you, as it almost did me.

AND

EXT. DAGOBAH-DAY

A small escape pod hurls toward the swamp planet and disappears in the mist.
QUI-GON: (V.O.) Are you ready to begin?
YODA: (O.S.) Yes. Will he finish what he begins?
QUI-GON: (V.O.) Finding him was the will of the Force, I have no doubt of that.
The pod has landed, and YODA descends the ramp, surveying the unfamiliar terrain.
QUI-GON: (V.O.) Master, may the Force be with you.

Great work Commander! That's exactly what I was looking for! An kudos to ADM for his work too. ADigitalMan you've definitely taken a different route than mine, but very interesting to see what you've managed to pull off.

For what its worth, my edit has Qui-Gon saying to Yoda while meditating. "He is critically wounded. But wait! I sense the spark of life in him still. We must train his son! Only then can we challenge the Sith!"

Fortunately, the mood/timbre of the actor who did Qui-Gon in the Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds game sounds close enough to be Liam Neeson, and fortunately, the different pieces of dialogue I managed to find, don't sound too messy when cut and pasted next to each other.

Thanks for your help all!
