Well then it's insensitive to everyone who isn't a lunatic, because it's certainly insensitive to those who support the right to an abortion.

So everyone who doesn't suppost the right to an abortion is a lunatic?  that's insensitive.

That's not what I said.  Ric said it's insensitive to those who oppose abortion.  Add in those who don't oppose it, and those who are indifferent, and you are left with the people who put those pictures up...i.e. the lunatics.

I disagree. Some people, including Germans, didn't believe the horrors of the holocaust until they saw pictures of the concentration camps. In the same way, too many people ignore what abortion looks like, pretending that it's perfectly moral and OK. The pictures are intended to shock their designated audience into changing their mind about abortion.

You just put abortion and the holocaust in the same sentence.  Well done.

Thank you. Perhaps the suffering is shorter for the babies than it was for the Jews, but millions more have lost their lives to abortion than the holocaust.

ok, after rereading what RicOlie_2 wrote, I now understand the point you were trying to make.

Holy shit are you ever posting offensive shit now.  I'm gonna bow out of this for a while in order to calm down and try to forget you said this.

I don't think he was trying to be offensive Frink.   It is certainly possible, since the time that humanity was capable of proforming abortions, that more that 6 millions fetuses have been killed even if you take out all the abortions done in the case of rape or for medical reasons(remember humanity has been able to perform abortions for hundreds of years).   If one believes those fetuses are human beings with the same right to lfe as you or I . . .

Perhaps it is arguable to use abortion in the same sentence as the holocaust.

To make clear, I do not think that women that have there babies aborted are anywhere near as bad as the nazis that were responsibly for the holocaust.

Neither do I. I'm not saying that the way abortions are performed is as horrific as the way people were killed during the holocaust, but I'm rather equating the magnitude of it. With an estimated 1.3 billion abortions performed worldwide since 1980, the numbers of the holocaust, if not the suffering, is dwarfed in proportion.

It's still offensive.  Try to imagine for a moment that you're Jewish.

Oh, and "magnitude" has more than one meaning.  You might want to pick a different word.

how it is offensive? no one here is trying to diminish the horror of the holocaust.

please remember this began with RicOlie_2 using the showing the pics o the holocaust as an example of how showing pics of a tradegy can move people to change their minds about it.   Abortion doesn't have to be anywhere near as bad or comparable to the holocaust for this point to be true.

think about it and assume for the moment that you believe the fetus to be human life wit the same right to life as you or I:  1.3 billion to 6 million.

If he had just said he would do that it would be fine by me but to then go on and pass moral judgement on people who opted to continue with a pregnancy regardless of the Downs Syndrome diagnosis which is usually late and not always accurate is obscenely cruel.

Almost everyone I have met with Downs is living an active and full life and as happy as most, not without difficulty for sure but who hasn't got some kind of difficulty?

It's just a really stupid thing to say and dangerous too.

Nice when have those rare occasions where the three of us agree on something.  Not only do many with Downs live active and full lives, but they in fact have increased the happiness, activity, and fullness of the lives of others, yours truly no excepted.  I can't imagine I would be nearly as empathetic a person as I am if my life were not shaped so substantially by my older brother.
