That Black R2 astromech was amazing, and that duo of the torture droid and that evil astromech is a good parody.

I actually didn't mind the supplementary droids for threepio and artoo and I though the little torture torture bit was pretty funny.

At the end of Vader #4 you see the next cover which features... *gasp* a yellow lightsaber?! For some reason I am not fond of the idea that there are tons of lightsaber colours, it's already bad enough that we have a purple one and a black one in the canon for that matter. What do you guys think of this?

I think you're crazy.

Vader need to fight someone who can elevate him since the retconning of the EU. I'm tired of hearing people in debates say Dooku or Mace is more skilled due to fighting more known people (Kenobi, Yoda, Anakin) due to the PT overexposure and repetitive fights he had in the TCW series. He needs to kill Ventress or Maul or someone..

Same, I want Vader to defeat someone extremely powerful to cement his strength. Vos and Ventress seem to be a good duo for him to test his skills.

During the Marvel Panel Q&A at Celebration it was stated that there would be an adaptation of the TFA film later on after the films release and that Marvel does not do movie adaptations at the time of a movie's release, If I remember correctly in the past Marvel would release a movie adaptation before the film's debut, when did this change with Marvel, and what recent movie adaptations has Marvel done?

Probably when the artists became bad at meeting deadlines.

Ahsoka has a yellow lightsaber and her cartoon is canon already.

It was a yellow-green actually. Bona fide yellow sabers were wielded by the Jedi Temple guards, though.

Huh, I haven't watched the clone wars since I saw that horrid movie in theatres... I think I need to give the show another chance based on how good rebels is.

The first season is awful, just be aware of that. It continues to get better as it goes on.

  This.

It takes a while to find its feet, but when it hits its stride, it gets incredible. The last few seasons are some of the best Star Wars content we've had in a long time. Dave really did a good job at salvaging the a prequel era.

Keep Circulating the Tapes.

^You can't miss with the original Marvel comics (regardless of what some modern EU fans might say about it).

Just make sure to stop after the ROTJ adaptation. You wouldn't want to go there, tis a silly place.

You make it sound like this is pro wrestling.

He's DARTH VADER. He won exactly ONE fight in the OT (and barely that, since Luke succeeded in getting away). He was still Darth Vader.

He doesn't need wins over preliminary talent to prove he's Darth Vader. He's DARTH VADER.

I don't think the post Jedi run was entirely Marvel's fault. They were probably more hamstrung by Lucasfilm than they were between films. Why else would Boba Fett escape the Sarlacc, only to end up right back in the damn thing only a dozen pages later?

While I agree with this in general, if you skip the post-ROTJ comics you also miss out on Lumiya. IMO, she's enough to make those later storylines bearable (Well, not so much the last couple issues with the Tofs -- those are irredeemably awful.).

Been meaning to get a copy of that omnibus for some time now. I own original copies of issues 12 and 15 (Doomworld and Star Duel) and I want to read the rest of the series, but I don't think it'd be economically feasible to get them all individually. So I'll try for the omnibus.

Unfortunately, it seems they've gone out of print (and the new collections are way more expensive for whatever reason) so I should probably pick one up sooner rather than later.

I'm on issue 4 of that omnibus, and really enjoying it so far.

I just came from reading the third issue of the Princess Leia miniseries. Here's my opinion of it in one simple word:

HOO-HUM (Or is that two words?)

The confrontation between Leia's party and the "crazy" Alderaanians on Sullust felt forced and unnatural, just as if it were shoved in there for the sole purpose of having someone there for Leia to fight, and the resolution was no better. Honestly, this issue felt like plain ol' typical decompressed-comics filler, shoved in there to stretch the plot out for as long as possible without doing anything to actually progress the actual storyline or develop the characters.

I just don't know what to make of this miniseries so far. The first issue was pretty meh, the second issue was a bit more engaging (if only for the flashbacks to Leia's childhood), and then we're right back into meh territory here again. I'd like this storyline to succeed in impressing me, but right now, the magic's fleeting (if it's there at all).

Oh, and before I forget to mention it, I'm not loving the interior artwork. I've given Terry Dodson's work a chance, and while I think his cover art's good, I don't like his interior artwork; maybe it's his wife's sketchy inks, maybe it's the bland colour palette, but it's all so flat and boring to look at.

JEDIT: Finally -- and this just sunk in now -- I'm getting the vibe that Mark Waid's writing Leia as if she feels some sort of contempt for the Alderaanians' pacifism. Perhaps I'm seeing things which aren't there, but if I'm right, then Waid is interpreting the character in a manner I seriously don't like.
