What is the signifigance of this line? I know Han says it in it the OT, but what’s the big deal? It is a very generic line that has been used in many movies…

It's a cliche phrase, it was often used on the original trilogy. Because of that, it became a running joke, being said at least once in every movie at the new trilogy.

Its a symbolic way of saying Vader is Han's (and who ever else says the line) father. Just like the phrases obi-wan is used to saying; "He killed your father" etc...

i think that "i have a bad feeling about this" sounds cool. cooler than "may the force be with you" in any case...
